The non-feral ghouls actually use the same animations as humans in the Fallout games so weapon and armor anims weren't an issue. I think the ghouls were cut more because it would've taken a ton of development time they didn't have to write extra dialogue for a race they weren't sure people would play. Great video btw, I can never get enough of this!
@@phalanxHH Yes but with the way Obsidian writes they'd have to make characters react completely different towards a ghoul than a human. Whereas in ES usually, it's just a throwaway line or two if you're a certain race. Obsidian also went way over their budget for dialogue so they likely wouldn't have been able to do it even if they had time.
@@phalanxHH in elder scrolls races are toned down... in TES3 you see a good system, where you can only wear some armors, also in TES IV race detection/variety is rarely used (CharGen and a few barks/insults and probably a few quests...) nothing like if player = race x then group y - 100 disposition
@@phalanxHH That's because differenct races in Elder Scrolls is a very minimal difference, here being a ghoul or a super mutant would **dramatically** change the way people interact with you, or at least that is what Obsidian wanted. In the end though they already had too little time and already wrote an absurd amount of dialogue (NV has more than twice the amount of dialogue as FO3 while having less than half its development time), so this would've caused them to have to make new versions of dialogue for the vast majority of lines, literally duplicating or even possibly triplicating the amount of dialogue there is. It would've been a complete nightmare to do in a year in a half.

I really hope to see a remake of this game with restored cut content, expanded ideas, and more voice actors. The concept art of Vegas always made sad that it was never fully realized because of limitations and time restraints. I would personally like to see more casinos if a remake were to happen. Also bringing the DLCs into the main game and integrating them in the story and/or adding new conversations. i.e Talking to Caesar about Joshua Graham being alive? Seeing how incredible games are starting to look with this upcoming generation of consoles and no limitations of the 7th Generation, as well as the buying of Obsidian and Bethesda by Microsoft, this is the perfect time for us to see a remake. But I’ll keep dreaming.
Honestly, I'd love to see a NV Director's Cut. We're seeing it done with games like Death Stranding where cut/undeveloped content is being finished and added back in. Now that both Obsidian and Bethesda are under the Microsoft umbrella, I'd love to see them work together again on a Fallout project, even if it isn't NV.
@@thrango2379 Bear in mind the Obsidian staff that worked on FNV aren't with Obsidian in the first place anymore so Microsoft isn't going to help with that in any way. A lot of their stuff is likely lost too so even if they had new staff who've not worked on it they don't have that cut stuff anymore let alone the mindset the original devs did.

Unfortunately, there's no citation of that on the wiki so it might be fanon.
I feel like your theory would definitely make sense. As it is in game, it's strange that a battle and subsequent catastrophe where both Caesar's Legion and NCR lose so many men in the Divide isn't mentioned at all in the context of either faction. The closest thing tying the Divide into the rest of the gameworld's lore around the First Battle of Hoover Dam is Joshua Graham's dialogue lines about the Divide, where he says the nuclear explosion there prevented the complete destruction of Caesar's army. I think it would be logical for a lot of people in the NCR to assume that the nuke was Caesar's Legion's doing, given their history of using nuclear weaponry and subterfuge to win battles.
Funny story, Hangover Heart was included on the iTunes album for Fallout New Vegas. I never knew it was meant to be included in the game I thought it was just another quest name like “Oh my Papa” and “Hound dog blues” because most of New Vegas’s quest names are just song names which you probably already knew.
I mean, I re-integrated the Chinese pistol with it's animations, it was left there in the files. Pretty sure I can find the rest for the double barrel shotgun that was in fallout 3's dlc. I heard it's there somewhere

I'm a big fan of Coito Ergo Sum (great mod, for anybody reading, check it out if you haven't). Pahrump is a new world space added by the mod, but I had absolutely no idea it was a real place.
Hay love your stuff but I have to ask, have you ever considered rolling back New vegas to its release state and looking for stuff that may have been forgotten in that early edition? I understand that this might be a enormous amount of stuff tho go though but who knows, could be some interesting stuff back there.
I pretty much only look at the files of the unpatched version for these videos, but actually comparing the differences between the original release and final patch would be a massive effort, probably beyond what a single person could do. As far as I'm aware, most of the patch changes that removed content, just removed minor props or generic NPC's. There are some exceptions like the Drill Sarge at McCarran or some of Hoover Dam's geometry, but for the most part, the changes would be very difficult to spot unfortunately.

Can I just say, how I got into FNV? I had F3 complete and wanted to make a second run. And as I played it and installed a helltone of modes, I suddenly realized that I had more fun moding this game than actually going into quests. I couldn't put my finger on why, but I just found it tedious at some quests, unbelievable to the point of silliness at others. I just realized that I'm sick of "get a quest, go to a dungeon" formula and there is not much to F3 to get me invested in it. And I had no idea that FNV was developed by the creators of one of my all time favorites, neverwinter nights 2, and created by some of former employees of black isle studios. To me, it was just a spin off by hired studio, and, according to my experience, they almost always sucked. Yet again, I didn't know that obsidian is so good with existing franchises. So, I've installed FNV, with my expectations being as low as it can be, and then suddenly, a realized that this game has: - real good and immersive writing; - intriguing major conflict, that nobody puts "in your face" style, you have to ask people by yourself, and you also have a chance to work with all sides and form your own opinion; - shooting that maybe is not FPS-good, but Bethesda engine-good, and that says something; - Setting that manages to be both realistic and create a very unique atmosphere - so much content and quests that it made me not even really considering mods aside from cosmetics, quests and gameplay tweaks; - real good DLCs; - crafting systems that made sense. And I just can't get enough of this game after all these years. And it's just unbelievable how much content they actually had to cut, I wish I could play the game with all ambitions fulfilled. But I'm satisfied with at least knowing what could have been, and that's something.
"Craftsman's Home" sounds like a brand of prefab house, sorta like the Sears kits that were real popular back in the days when it was common for regular people to buy land to build a house on rather than simply buy a regular house. Their heyday was the 40s through the 60s, so I can see prefab homes being big in prewar Fallout timeline America. It also provides lore justification for many identical houses. Maybe there were plans for a bit of lore about just such a thing, who can say?

I saw a video showing the original Fallout didn’t have 50s showtunes playing on the radio while killing mutants. I sure enjoyed doing that when I discovered Fallout 3 but I have played NV with only the ambient sounds and it’s not bad. More gritty than Johnny Guitar.
I wished that bonnie springs was a actual town, just like good springs but had many more issues with the fiends and khans on their doorstep and maybe the low town numbers could contribute to maybe later on when you return to the town to see the town empty then the vipers and cazadoors exist there, I just think that would be a cool idea
I remember on one of my play throughs on Xbox 360 like 8 years ago when I got too Bonnie springs that there were already casadors there and no viper gang. I never knew that the viper gang spawned there too

That will be a godsend, really. I find difficulty distinguishing between mods that are reactivated cut content, those that are a creation of concept art that didn't make it into the files, and those that are a recreation of incomplete cut content.
I have to say it, this game is one of best games of the history, at the level of games like God of War 2/4, Gta 4/San andreas, Half Life 1/2, FF7, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc....
Playable ingame races could've been a good idea, but, plausible in dialogue (see Oblivion:Starting dungeon) armor texture would be easy for them too see ingame Ghoul race but the problem is doing all of this in the time scale you have
The last thing you listed with the similar interior to Doc Mitchell's house is actually Orion Moreno's house and is in the game. The wiki article on his house even mentions that it's similar to the doc's house. fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Orion_Moreno%27s_house Additionally, the skull in the beginning that you get a tutorial message for picking up is reused in the Ultra-Luxe kitchen, near where the two cooks are using flamers on the brahmin carcasses. If you don't pick up the skull at the beginning of the game, you get a tutorial message for picking it up there.
Watching your videos makes me wish for a Fallout New Vegas on a 64-bit engine and just for PC only. Imagine the game as it would have been. Bigger, larger and better overall gaming experience.
Triangle City, I have a question for you. I want to reinstall FONV, but I haven't played it in 3-4 years. I do remember that there are some mods which are necessary if the player wants to install many other mods. One of them is a script extender, I believe. However, I don't remember the others. Would you be kind enough to give me a heads up on where to look for said mods- or if there are only a few, perhaps you could name them. I'd appreciate any help that you might provide.

It would've been so awesome to be able to play as a ghoul. Not sure about Supermutant, sure it might be interesting, but I feel like it would necessitate that just about every dialogue be rewritten to reflect how you stand out, how uncomfortable most people would be around you, and might even make certain bigoted NPCs either *have* to be always hostile towards you, or break character. I feel it would especially complicate interactions with the Legion. Ghouls would take some work too, but it could've been a more subtle implementation.

I have to say it, this game is one of best games of the history, at the level of games like God of War 2/4, Gta 4/San andreas, Half Life 1/2, FF7, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc....
Playable ingame races could've been a good idea, but, plausible in dialogue (see Oblivion:Starting dungeon) armor texture would be easy for them too see ingame Ghoul race but the problem is doing all of this in the time scale you have

The last thing you listed with the similar interior to Doc Mitchell's house is actually Orion Moreno's house and is in the game. The wiki article on his house even mentions that it's similar to the doc's house.

Additionally, the skull in the beginning that you get a tutorial message for picking up is reused in the Ultra-Luxe kitchen, near where the two cooks are using flamers on the brahmin carcasses. If you don't pick up the skull at the beginning of the game, you get a tutorial message for picking it up there.

Watching your videos makes me wish for a Fallout New Vegas on a 64-bit engine and just for PC only. Imagine the game as it would have been. Bigger, larger and better overall gaming experience.

Triangle City, I have a question for you. I want to reinstall FONV, but I haven't played it in 3-4 years. I do remember that there are some mods which are necessary if the player wants to install many other mods. One of them is a script extender, I believe. However, I don't remember the others. Would you be kind enough to give me a heads up on where to look for said mods- or if there are only a few, perhaps you could name them. I'd appreciate any help that you might provide.
This is in my opinion, the best guide anyone has ever made for FNV and is definitely worth checking out. The other mod you want to get is the 4gb patch. If you have more questions, theres some great modders in my discord and we talk about modding pretty often!

Lol, I like to assume the only people who dislike these videos are they themselves the ones responsible for the cut content.
It would've been so awesome to be able to play as a ghoul. Not sure about Supermutant, sure it might be interesting, but I feel like it would necessitate that just about every dialogue be rewritten to reflect how you stand out, how uncomfortable most people would be around you, and might even make certain bigoted NPCs either *have* to be always hostile towards you, or break character. I feel it would especially complicate interactions with the Legion.
Ghouls would take some work too, but it could've been a more subtle implementation.
