I honestly believe if none of the content from NV was ever cut I would probably still be playing the game 9 years later and not have completed the second battle of Hoover dam before going through everything first. To this day, after many play throughs I still discover new things/dialogue.
I wish I could just go back in time to be able to play this game for the very first time I was young when it came out, and played it through somewhere around 18-20 times, and I literally have flashbacks of things I did 7-8 years ago when I visit locations and/or hear an ambient music playing... mad nostalgia
If I recall, outdoorsman was used in fast travel to help you avoid bad random encounters with enemies or critters. Since that doesn't happen in fast travel since FO3 I guess obsidian figured why have it at all
6:33 I assume refugee 2 missing is a reference to the joke about releasing three pigs in a school and labeling them 1,3 and 4 causing the search for pig 2 which none existed
Interesting side note: that vertibird in fallout 2 crashed I think over Klameth, was flown by the old bag in the big dino town... Also one of the blades of the vertibird is used by one of the super mutants as a weapon
What is the purpose of 'new vegas home' just across from 'northern passage'? Who is it originally supposed to be owned by? It's one of the only houses in the game like it
i'd geuss that it was origanally supposed to be the player home, like a place where you could decorate and sleep in, but it was probably scrapped before any development could be done on it.
It's just a fluff location to add to the roleplay aspect of the game. That entire area is pretty much useless in the final game, though, so maybe it was just some designer's headcanon that it was the abandoned, desolate outskirts that's still uninhabited simply because of its isolation. That or yes it was intended to be owned by a faction (maybe the jackals nearby)
I heavily recommend this location to build a base on if you are playing with base building/survival RP mods on. You can set up patrolling guards a control the northern part of Vegas where before it was rather unused
I think that they should have added horses or something like a rad-horse. It would have made sense if horses were in the game because if bears, cows, dogs, coyotes, snapping turtles and geckos survived the war why wouldn’t have horses?
it's been 10 years this should really be a thing soon enough, people always say there's mods to make the game better and that's true but I would love a real remaster with the FO4 combat engine
@@1ButtonDash as long as it was just a remastered graphics and adding in cut content. Hate to have the RPG element bleed through into the game from FO4.

Incidentally, if you want to improve your frame rate DRAMATICALLY in Red Rock Canyon (on PC, at least) disable the 4 (or is it 3? can't remember) fighters in the logged-off circle (Initiation ring). Don't know why it helps, but it DOES. :)
All I can remember about the pilot of the vertibird is that the pilot wasn't dead and was a woman. Can't remember where to find her, but that's what happened to that one. She even mentions she was the best UNTIL she crashed
The Wasteland Adventurer is definitely in the base game, although he doesn't appear often. I usually only see him once per playthrough, but I definitely have encountered him multiple times because I distinctively remember his dialogue and appearance, also his primitive merchant inventory
You can check the GECK and see there's no way he could spawn in an unmodded PC version. Here's an additional source fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Wasteland_adventurer
The wasteland adventurer is cut? I swear I've seen him in game before. I've heard the line about trading stimpaks for bloatfly steaks with his voice in the game for sure.
@@TriangleCity yeah I thought about that not long after posting this, i was up too early lol. Love the videos though! Definitely gonna be watching all of them.
@@TriangleCity Nope, never played a NV mod in my life and I've encountered him on multiple playthroughs. I knew he looked familiar when you showed him, and definitely knew after you played his dialouge.
Fun fact that snapping turtle mutation reference is probably not canon because its cited on the fallout wiki but never in game. The only references for snapping turtles being the source are all sources that cite each other. The wiki says its on a terminal in raven rock but no terminal holds it and I haven't found any other enclave terminals that say it. This reddit threat seems to be the original source of snapping turtles www.reddit.com/r/falloutlore/comments/3d5cn1/mirelurks_the_capitals_marvel_of_nature/ but perhaps it is cut content that was patched out? Or maybe this is someone making up lore and no one bothered to fact check them until it became fanon.
I feel like the ESRB is pretty strict with what goes into games now, I replayed red dead one and there was a scene with a barn full of dead people and one hanging genitals mutilated and a nude scene. If people understand that M rating means like a R rated movie I'm sure the more rude and violent parts wouldn't be cut
How much content did they cut from this game? Damn. We need a remake with the Fallout 4 engine and all of it put back in. Both PCs and consoles can handle it now
Since Microsoft now owns Obsidian and Bethesda. Theoretically, we could get some sort of 'Definitive Edition' of New Vegas. Given the short development time it's honestly amazing that this game has as much as it does
I think thats one reason to cut things from the game: there would be no need for a sequel anymore ._.
Much of the cut content is restored by mods. Obviously that still leaves it inaccessible to many players.
