The coins in the first edition are much better looking, I believe the horses also look better in the 1st edtion. I bought the 2nd edition plastic betting chips though. They are sold as an extra.
Fantastic, thank you! My question is do you ever play it solo/have a method to do that or know someone who does? I have no one around me remotely interested in a board games/horse racing game. Never having seen any version in person or played the game, I had seen Face2Face version videos and mention of Royal Turf in places on here, but only just became aware of the Dice Tree version. Late to the party, but I'm jumping on the WC bandwagon and this looks like the perfect game to do it. A well designed appealing generation. My collection is 20s-60s vintage horse racing games and I had never ventured into "modern" games, though I had seen the likes of Longshot etc through TH-cam videos and ebay. When I saw this video I went straight to Dice Tree site and bought a copy, cause I couldn't wait for Amazon. to get it next year.
I don't know how to play it solo unfortunately. Have you looked at Ready, Set, Bet! ? Since that has an app running the horses, you might be able to find a way to play that solo by forcing yourself to place bets every so often and trying to get a better score.
Thank you for that comparison
No problem!
