I worked on this movie! It was a real labor of love. It makes me so happy when people discover and enjoy it.

I've had this one since 2011 but made one prior in 2007-2008 but the account randomly wouldn't let me log in, wish I had that original account and could see all my old videos watched, etc. Remember all the things you could do to your channel from the information and 'about me' text and you could change the background colors and layout and whatnot, everyones channels were mini-facebook pages where comments were frequently made and not just on actual videos? The 5 star rating system? Good times, completely random but had a moment of nostalgia I guess : D

I just noticed something that I've never noticed before, despite how many times I've watched this movie and the fact that I own it. Bernard says he's "not allowed to insult guests directly" but as soon as he sees Megamind (who he thinks is some really bad cosplayer) he launches into an entire paragraph of insults.
That's a true nerd alright. The second you disrespect something they like and know a lot about, you have it coming
This is a really good movie, often overshadowed by Despicable Me..
Yeah, Megamind had more "Presentation!"
megamind is a much much better movie. only overshadowed by the stroke-of-genius creation of the minions.
when i watched megamind in the theater, i thought to myself: wow, this is a very well made movie! this deserves a lot of praise and attention!
but when i watched the first despicable me in the theater, i thought to myself: what are these minions? who was the genius who created these? why are they just relegated to the role of side characters when it's very obvious that they are the most unique part of the movie?
so i was not surprised when after a few years the minions blew up in popularity because it just made perfect sense.
mediocre movie + minions (despicable me) >> excellent movie (megamind)
Indeed, a very underestimated film. I must admit that I disliked it on my first viewing, but after a few more watches and learned about all the the hidden themes in the movie, I realized it was a much more fleshed out and self-aware movie then I had ever realized! I was merely judging it for its surface level comedy, it’s so much deeper then that though.
Not much anymore. Lot of reviews going over megamind. It's a late popularity movie.
I wonder if Megamind will have a sequel one day.

[groans] Girls, girls! You're both pretty! Can I go home now?"-MEGA MIND. I love that line and scene.
Easily one of the best scenes
My favorite bit of dialogue in the film!
What's so cool about this movie, is the villain's point of view is shown in such a layered manner. He doesn't want to be bad, but if you ostracize him with the label of the bad man. Well MEGAMIND can be one of the badest of them all. Then his character arc shows that he really does care that people like him. Granted he has to save the city from the very villain he created. Enough of that, so details, shhhhhmetales.
I like how they thought this movie was much newer than it actually was. That means the movie really was ahead of its time.
Metroman became a musician only because it was the only thing he didn’t have talent for. Since he’s superhuman. He could only get satisfaction of progress from things he’s bad at.
What’s great is at the beginning of the movie if you pause it and look real hard enough, you can actually see a blurr image right behind Megamind when he tells Minion to activate the machine when he had Metro Man “captive”.
Love subtle details like that
Megamind was ahead of its time, it remains incredible to this day, including the animation. One of my favorite movies since my teens, just amazing!
You guys need to watch the How to Train your Dragon Trilogy. Guaranteed to make you cry with happiness
And sadness don't forget sadness lol.
Also the Kung Fu Panda trilogy. Those 2 series are Dreamworks at its best.
There's also a TV series which takes place between the first and second movie.
To be fair- Roxanne was feeing deceived and betrayed. As much as I’m rooting for Megamind- as much as I appreciate the bitter irony of the fact that the only way he could feel free to truly be himself, was _as someone else-_ I can 100% understand why she reacted the way she did.
Yeah... He had no idea what real evil was or felt like, but consciously catfishing a woman you love is pretty high up there. (That and Titan's whole deal. That's what real evil is)

Hal in the perfect definition of an incel, before the word incel even existed. Truly, a marvel ahead of its time.
Tbh if you got catfished by a horrible criminal who killed someone who's saved millions of people, you'd be quite disgusted to...or if not, you'd be seen as disgusting by society for still dating as murderer, like, y'know, those girlfriends who stay even after realizing their husband's are phycopaths even after they go to jail.
Megamind is a perfect way of showing how the joker would feel if he finally beat Batman

To truly understand this movie one really must have seen Superman (1978). It is the grandfather of the modern superhero movie and is being affectionately sent up in so many ways here.
Ellie asking "can you imagine your boyfriend doing this?" You must have seen the original Superman made back in the 70's.

If you notice the color of Roxanne’s dress throughout the movie it went from red to purple and then to blue

I don't follow you, but you dare to call Roxanne a b*tch? Were you not paying attention to what she said to Megamind? In Roxanne's defense, she has been lied to and catfished by Megamind. Of course, she has every RIGHT to be angry with him.
From our perspective, we're seeing Megamind changing to be a good guy because of Roxanne. From her perspective, she doesn't know anything about Megamind, she sees him as a villain who "murders" Metro Man and always gets kidnapped by him. She got to know him when he was in disguise (Bernard's form).
The scene was sad, of course, but Megamind was in the wrong for lying to her. People like you need to pay attention and not be ridiculous.

Megamind, Shrek, Shrek 2, Prince of Egypt, the Kung Fu Panda trilogy, and the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy. 10 Dreamworks movies that everyone should watch.

This is one of those wildly underrated films
One other animated superhero movie I highly recommend is The Incredibles from 2005. It’s one of Pixar’s best films and won numerous prestigious awards and critical acclaim.
'Fern Gully' and 'the Last Unicorn' are other hidden, animated gems.

Where were all the other heroes in the world while this was going on? In the Incredibles movies, Parr and his super-powered family aren't the only ones.

I love how Megamind turned into the warden before saying, “I’ll always be a villain.”
Almost hinting at just how evil of a ‘parent’ that jerk was.
Actually him keeping Megamind is likely what kept Megamind from being turned into a lab animal.
We saw this at the IMAX in 3D, and it was AWESOME.

Don't forget DreamWorks' Rise Of The Guardians. It's one of their best movies.
I'd certainly challenge that claim. Don't get me wrong, I love Rise of the Guardians, but it's an okay to above average film at best.

I just saw y'alls full reaction to this movie and you ladies were really enjoying it especially MINION! lol I suggest y'all see SHARK TALE next! That's another good one from DreamWorks animation. Also that part with Hal and Roxanne when he was first Titan he was moving too fast trying to make like Superman on her and it was certainly not like that at all cause he took it slow at first with Lois Lane.

Michelle, a movie you may like is Five Feet Apart released in 2019. You seemed to like I Am Legend because it had a connection to the pandemic with taking of temperatures and wearing of masks. If true, then Five Feet Apart you will enjoy because it has this same theme. But really, Extraction is the movie waiting just for you.

Okay, work out, try again to relax. Megamind! I have an entertaining, cuddly warm girls under quilts, pj's, no make-up, just clean sweet The Homies watching cartoons from humour past. Care free, just being friends at ease, comfort first. I'll bake some gooy, chewy, chocolate chunk cookies, some real stove top hot chocolate milk... . After I put on a Hot Pot of Earl Grey Tea to steep and make a few different rich expresso's. Whole cream and a half teaspoon of dark brown sugar. Toasted, buttered Hot Cross Raisin Buns, English Muffins, fresh sliced fruits to pick at with sticky fingers sucked clean over and over again as you giggle at cartoons... I think Pinky & The Brain would be perfect fun for old and young. I'll just enjoy watching the girls taking care of my girls. I'm jealous I can't facilitate all of you willingly...

@Aidan the Legend I personally disagree. Most people would react the way she did if they found out they just kissed a supervillain. We have to keep in mind that she doesn’t know about any of the character growth we saw from him. In her eyes hers a murderous villain. She doesn’t know any of the good things he’s done were him and only knows the bad things he’s done.
