@@eviekelpie1 That's beautiful but the gentleman's comment holds true. It is one of their most underrated/overlooked songs. Here's hoping you're around many more years.

Met my husband when we were both 12 yrs old.... and LOVED ZEP. He had an accident 2 yrs ago last 4th of July and that song gets me every time ....Thank You .
Thank You my brother for the energy transfer!! I was low but now the meter is on fully charged, keep being real - how u feel. So nice to have an honest reaction with emotion
When my very best friend since childhood and I reunited for the first time since my family and I moved and we were separated, she played me two songs she said always reminded her of me while we were apart. Fire and Rain by James Taylor (that’s another song that is a must to react to. It’s incredible), and this beautiful song here. We had parted around age 12, and didn’t see each other again until our Junior year in HS. Yet, the moment we were reunited, it was like no time had passed at all. That’s how it always is with true best friends, friends that are much more like siblings than friends really; being two only children, we were all the siblings we had. When she played it, yes it’s intent was Love, but it was the love of a dear friend to a dear friend, not romantic love. Platonic soul mates, that’s what we are. And we made a pact that day, to always be there for each. We vowed never to lose touch again, no matter what the distance or the changes that would come. We would always find a way to reach out, to be a shoulder and an ear for the other. That’s what this song meant and means to us. It was incredibly meaningful when she played it and I heard it for the first time, and when I hear it now, I’m reminded to say thank you for a friendship that has endured for 3 decades. All these many years later, we remain best friends. And this remains my favorite song, from my all time favorite band, and arguably the greatest rock band in history, The Mighty Led Zeppelin. Thank you for reacting to it. ♥️
This was the first song that Robert wrote all the lyrics to....a 1969 love song to his new wife....Maureen...Their marriage didn’t survive all the tragedies and stresses that befell them...ending in 1982, I believe. As far as I’ve heard, however, they are on good terms...which is always a blessing.
@Ann Harper what do you mean? Karac was maureens boy and they were married, i dont know if he had an affair with maureens sister or he was with her sister 1st and maureen is the 1 he had the affair with

This is one of They're most beautiful and romantic songs, in my opinion 💕💖😍. A lot of They're music played on regular radio, but the more risky songs, like 'The Lemon Song", you could only listen to underground, called the "Underground Railroad",which came on at twelve midnight.
Let me make a correction on my last comment. I was wrong about the name of the underground radio station......it was called "The Velvet Underground" and it was on every night at twelve o'clock midnight until morning. So,excuse me....my mistake.
One of the most amazing songs. Tempo goes up and suddenly music stops,Robert sings alone without backup. Next again vocals and music start blending together. It keeps going on and on ❤️
I often forget about this song but it's so beautiful and yeah it's a great love song. And by the way, I love how you let that really long Fade Out go to the end because that was the entire motion of the song there and you let it go till you couldn't hear it anymore. Props to you man.
The most romantic verse is this... "And so, today, my world it smiles.. Your hand in mine, we walk the miles.. Thanks to you, it will be done.. For you to me are the only one" .....And yes, this would be an extremely romantic song or poem to a true woman. A woman who understands what it really means to be romantic. Romance is more than a mere word, a poem, a look, or a touch. Romance is a knowing. A knowing way down deep. I'm sorry you never got to know what romance is. I truly am. Times have changed and I'm so glad I grew up before people got so fake, so hollow (not talking about you). And yes, I'm two years late for your fall down the Led Zeppelin rabbit hole but I've enjoyed it immensely just the same. Thank you for sharing your time and joy while listening to the best band there ever was. Peace out!
Never knew his wife was Maureen. I met my wife {Maureen} in sixty -eight and when I heard this song I wrote the lyrics and told her I wrote a poem for her . We married in 1971 and about 5 years later she heard this song on the radio and said it sounded familiar. I broke down and told her the truth .we were married almost 52 years when I lost her to cancer back in Feb. Still love this song
Also, I love the fact you are reacting to the ‘lesser known’ of their songs, everyone else only seems to react to their more popular songs. Good on you dude.
I believe this was the first song where Robert Plant wrote all the lyrics after Jimmy Page pushed him into doing it. This song is nothing to do with an abusive relationship. It was dedicated to Robert's wife who supported him including financial support when he was a struggling unknown singer before he joined Led Zeppelin. Romantic language in songs is probably going to be more poetic than romantic speech in real life.
On the radio for years and years heartbreaker and living loving maid was always played as one song. ALWAYS... ALWAYS ...ALWAYS. .. led heads get offended if you don't react to them together and will call you out. There is only a half second of silence between the two on the album's and they flow so well one into the other as if the story just continues about the same woman. React to it like this and you will be praised. There is a funny story to this though it was always played together on the radio for years and years in classic rock stations still play them together even though living loving made is Jimmy Page's least favorite song and it was never played live he hated it just a little nugget there for you enjoy your reactions love your channel keep it strong keep it going on

Whoever told you that the album was the story of a relationship, either didn't know what they were talking about, or were relating what the album meant to them, re' their personal experience. Of course a few of the songs are about relationships, the good, the bad and the ugly, specific and general but there is no overarching story, or theme, to the album and it's definitely not telling a story about any specific relationship.
Dude, you're gonna get roasted - you cut the end of the song off! John Paul Jones is playing Hammond organ and Jimmy is playing a 12 string guitar which helps give a bit of tinkling/ringing tone to the notes. Jimmy harmonizes with Robert on the middle part. As others have mentioned, Robert wrote this for his (then) wife, Maureen and a lot of people have used this as their own wedding song since then. I respectfully disagree with the person who told you this album has a theme or concept - LZ didn't do conception albums a la The Beatles, The Who or others. Based on the songs on the album, I can see how someone might come to that thought but it wasn't a conscious decision by the band.
@@watchbizmatik by the way, there isn't a lot of video for LZ (they did that on purpose).
