    Enjoy your journey. This is my favorite band of all time. Never got to see them in person unfortunately. I live watching people hear for the first time. Especially the hip hop community because many zeppelin songs are from old soul and blues riffs . Each song is a different masterpiece. Stairway to heaven is the most iconic of all time to most. Check out all my love or fool in the rain

I worked in music copyright and can probably help you CYA however this band has had their share of copyright claims leveled against them... starting w their first album to a recent lawsuit from the estate of a musician named "Randy California" to be honest i think at this point they would probably be flattered--even R. Plant who has an ego the size of Texas (but I love him anyways)

    A lot critics accuse Zeppelin of ripping off the American black bluesman as you will find in some of their songs. But like so many british bands like the Stones & many others just were huge fans & studied the blues. So, Zep as a tribute included parts of the bluesman's songs in theirs. Blues Rock Gods!

  • @HowdyDoodyssister5416
    @HowdyDoodyssister5416 ปีที่แล้ว

    The only one who was a student of music was the multi instrumentalist, John Paul Jones, more commonly referred to as the bass player although he played many different instruments. The most underrated member but contributed so much more then most know. He was a genius musician. They were all geniuses! I saw them in concert 3 times. They were and always will be my favorite and the best ‘band’ ever! Simply the best!

    I know I'm late to the party but I really am so impressed you are doing this. Most of us grew up thinking in terms of albums, whereas today music is normally delivered via singles on Spotify or the radio or whatever. Mean it was called album oriented Rock in the early 70s for a reason. So it really just brings something more full and Rich to the experience to think about these things and the way they were ordered on the record albums, you had side a but had to have like a logical start and ending and same with side B. And then put together they make up this whole album experience. And then it's chronological, when you think of a band that was successful over many album releases and very popular live, it's fantastic to feel the chronology of it and how it changes and evolves with the times. It truly is just an informal way to get some really solid music education in. Props.

    These guys have so many great songs, so many to take in. You’ve already fallen down the rabbit hole, I’m sure one day you’ll get to dig through all their gems. They are true students of music. They’ve mixed and tackled so many types of music, even created metal. Their beginning albums are blues heavy, but down the line you see how they change and adapt new styles. Once in a while you’ll get hit with some old soul in their later albums.

    @Watch BizMatik Thank you again! John Paul Jones is the true orchestrator of this band.. He coordinates and ties it all together.... They are all brilliant but he is the true glue that coordinated it all Robert Plant has mentioned many many times that his primary inspiration is the Mississippi Delta Blues (Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, etc). So you are correct. He is also the first person that i have ever heard explain the phemenon of Elvis, which was the only way back in the day that a talented Black artist could have their work showcased..

    The cool part is they didnt go into the studio not knowing what to do. They had it all written and practiced before they walked in. They recorded the whole thing in three days on their own dime. Then they dangled the finished album in front of Atlantic records like a piece of meat to a dog and walked away with the best contract in recording history.

    led zep, moody blues, procol harum, the who, cream, Jimi Hendrix, Emerson Lake and Palmer, yes, pink floyd, even the beatles got into the act.... these, among others are treasure troves of music, poetry and sounds brilliantly constructed together to create art... in fact "we" didn't refer to their music as "music" or "tunes'... we called the "sounds".... i'm glad to see new generations are rediscovering them.. and hopefully ... learn... as "we" would say back in the day......peace

I loved your reaction to the first change up. There was NOTHING ELSE out there at the time this album came out that sounded like this. NOTHING. There's a filmed performance of this song from their first filmed set back in 3/1969, right around the time the first album was released. Jones' bass line is killer. th-cam.com/video/wO6bRjcyQN8/w-d-xo.html Glad you're having a great time in the rabbit hole
