thanks! for me, this is by far the most well-organized and comprehensive Kyoto itinerary/guide that I came across. 👍👍and I think you're a very good story teller.🙂
I’ve spent almost ten total days in Kyoto on two separate vacations and you’ve introduced me to so many new and exciting places to see. I’m returning next year for my 40th and I cannot wait to see some of these beautiful new sights. Thank you so much for making this wonderful video 🙏🏻
BIG WORD OF WARNING on day 3 if you are heading to arashiyama bamboo forest make sure to reserve your seat if you plan to go for the sagano railway, I'm not sure if you can reserve it online but make your way there first thing, trains runs on an hourly basis and if you go in groups then there's a chance that you'll be on different carriages. I wish this video mentioned it because after my walk around the forest I was looking forward to the ride just to find out that the next available train was in 2 hours :/
I'm new to your channel and have never been to Asia. I'm about to take some cruises Thru about 10 Asian countries and know Very little about any of them. I'm a retired Real estate broker from Laguna Beach, Calif And now live in Las Vegas, NV. From the many utube videos I've watched I already Know that Japan will be among my favorites. I've never been to Europe or China or Australia. I've been to many Countries in South and Central America, Canada, Alaska and Hawaii, but that's About it. I'm going to do most of my initial Travelling to these new places via cruise Ships. Then I'll start flying in and staying in Hotels later on. I'm going to look thru all Your videos and start studying this xlnt Resource that you have created. Mark
Hope you have a great time, that sounds like an amazing trip! You might enjoy my 2 weeks in Japan video as well if you havnt seen it th-cam.com/video/er3W4ieNpW0/w-d-xo.html
I'll be going back to Japan in December after two trips and your guides have been tremendously helpful for the spots I couldn't go last time I was in Kyoto!
I am in the middle of planning a trip to Japan next year, and your videos are a tremendous help of deciding where/what to see. At this point, I am looking at 30 days! That said, I would love to see a video of all Nihon san ke
Awesome video, I'm actually planning a visit to Japan in the next year or so and I've been binge watching all of your videos. Do you have any tips for packing luggage for 2 weeks and maybe any prime times to visit in the spring?
Sounds like you might have already seen them but check out my Spring Itinerary video: th-cam.com/video/LC0GYkdjG1w/w-d-xo.html & my 16 Tips for Travelers in Japan th-cam.com/video/lzIudok713k/w-d-xo.html For packing Spring can be really cold at night but warm in the day, so pack a light jacket that you can carry around if the weather changes suddenly.
@@InakaAdventure It would be interesting to compare the two. Kyoto museum is literally built next to active train lines. And I'm fairly certain the roundhouse filled with steam locomotives was just repurposed for the open air display.
Thank you! I'm going in September 5th and will be a week in Tokyo and a week in Kyoto. I'm hoping it won't be too hot and we'll be blessed with good weather because i'm nervous about it and how it might affect the itinerary 🙏
Not very optimal at all. Day 2 instead Kinkaku-ji, go to Heian Shrine and gardens(mentioned), which is in the area. Day 3 start at Kinkaku-ji, then walk or take the 59 bus to Ryoan-ji and a very short walk is Ninna-ji which has a lot of cool hiking paths in the area if your into that. From Ninna-ji there a Randen(street car) station Omuro-ninnaji and take the train "To Katabiranotsuji Station", transfer at Katabiranotsu station to Arashiyama. Not only does the Randen take you to the Kimono Forest at Arashiyama Randen station, it also goes through the Cherry Blossom tunnel right after Utano station(seasonal). Or do the reverse if you want to check out Arashiyama in the morning when it is not as busy.
To be honest I find Heian Shrine really dull compared to other places in Kyoto, its very culturally significant though. The Randen is fun to ride though
Really nice video! We are planning to go to Japan for three weeks in January, because that’s the only period we are off. It’s our first time to Japan. Is there anything you can recommend, like places we have to visit in that period and for how long. Thank you and have a nice day!
Hi! jsut caught your osaka video and watching this one one. you really have a soothing voice mate. great travel ideas on Osaka(2nd time this year for us :) ). It was difficult last time to find food for a family of 4 in Kyoto. would you have recommendations please? thanks! (we tried to find izakayas in Kyoto but they didnt seem to be plentiful like in Osaka...). We are going in mid November to early december. you think we will catch the nice red colors the trees offer in Autumn? thanks!
If you go to my community posts on my channel there is a forecast for the Autumn colors for 2024, for Kyoto ill have a new video out soon where in part of it I go to a nice restaurant in pontocho alleyway you can check there
@@InakaAdventure What I am really missing is a comprehensive guide to all of japan, that will showcase it's different regions, and what to expect / do in each of them. For example: - Is it worth going to Hokkaido, if so, what for? - Is it worth going all the way south, if so, what for? Getting this information from one source would be tremendously helpful to grasp at one glance what one wants to see, or is maybe less interested in. It took me some hours of research to figure out that, while I will be going to japan for 5 weeks, I will just travel from tokyo to osaka, with some nature on the way, because these places alone have so much to offer.
The street is really popular with tourists and too many people were taking photos that were disrupting the flow of business, chasing gaisha around while they were trying to work, since its a private street they implemented a $100 fine for photography, I believe they changed it because it was driving too many tourists away but not sure.
I’m blown away. I’m going to Japan for three weeks in September/October. The only thing I have booked in Japan so far is a temple stay in Koyasan. I was thinking of staying 8 nights in Tokyo and then 8 nights in Kyoto with Koyasan in between the nights in Kyoto. I’ll then finish with 2 nights in Tokyo in case I want to get a few things to bring back home with me. I chose these two cities as a base to do day trips from such as Osaka, Mt Takao, Fuji, Nikko, Nara, Hiroshima. Would you recommend this approach or stay in other cities over night? And would you do more time in Kyoto and few in Tokyo?
Since you're traveling at that time you can probably take advantage of the old JR Pass pricing before it increases from October, you can check out my video on rail passs for that: th-cam.com/video/yEnNqY6s9Ck/w-d-xo.html Also you could check out my 2 weeks in Japan video for ideas th-cam.com/video/er3W4ieNpW0/w-d-xo.html personally for me 8 nights in Tokyo is too much, but I dont really like cities. same XDD but im staying 5 days in kyoto and 9 days in tokyo XD i would recommend to visit universal studios in osaka (i believe it is there) get JRP (japan rail pass) the way you have it rn its good for the first tine
