    Thanks for the great videos Remi. I visited Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto in 1995 and your videos brought back so many fond memories. We were there shortly after the Kobe earthquake and saw some of the damaged buildings. I remember we flew into and out of Kansai airport which had recently opened. Keep up the great content!

    Hi remi!
    Thanks for this video - very very insightful. Visiting Japan in April and great to see the possibilities of things to do in and around Osaka.
    Shame that the cable card did not work upon your visit. Was is due to the season or? Would love to visit in April though. And is it easy to get there by bus, from Kobe central station?
    Thanks again :)

    • @remishimazu
      @remishimazu  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi!! Ugh. The cable car was under "maintenance updates" when we went! lol I checked the website right now though and it's open! It seems like they do routine maintenance checks often (which I guess I'm not mad about haha) but I would definitely check the website before you head out there. Here's a link! www.rokkosan.com/cable/?lang=en
      It was super easy to get there by bus! I believe we took a quick train ride to another station nearby and then there were big signs for the bus that takes you to Mount Rokko! Once you're at Mount Rokko, there's one main bus that will take you back to the train station.
      Although the cable car wasn't running, I'm still glad we went because of the terrace area.
      I hope this was helpful and hope you have so much fun on your trip in April!

      @@remishimazu hi Remi!
      Thanks for the response! Really appreciate you taking the time to respond and looking up info. Just one more thing before deepdiving in your info: do you happen to know if buses go back to the station relatively late? Because we probably would like to head up there after sunset.

    • @remishimazu
      @remishimazu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most facilities at Mount Rokko close around 8-9pm I believe? So it’s likely that buses going to and from won’t run much later than that. Sorry I couldn’t give more of a definitive answer but I hope that helps give you at least an idea of what to expect!

    Thank you for sharing the video, I really like it! I have been to Japan 3 times and I love Japan. I have a question for you, at around 16:06 of this video you have a passport-like book with stamps, I saw one of this in a shop in Tokyo Station, but I didn't get it, since I wonder how are you able to get all the stamps from every Japan stations you visited. So my question is can you get a stamp at every Japan station or city you visited? If it is possible I am gonna get one next time I am in Japan. Thank you again 🙂

      most stations in japan (especially the bigger ones) have stamps that are customized to represent the area. it's so much fun to collect so definitely recommend looking for them the next time you're in Japan. I got my stamp book at a book store near the station! If you don't have a book, the stamp area sometimes has paper there for you. I hope this was helpful!

      Yes! No one talks about this but collecting station stamps is such a great souvenir from a Japan trip! Most (not all) stations in Japan have their own stamp which is customized for the area. Some of the luxury/scenic trains have their own as well! The stamps are located in different areas of the station so you can either treat it like a scavenger hunt or ask the information booth if they have one!
      I got my stamp book from a Kikokuniya book store at a station. I show the bookstore in my Fukuoka video: th-cam.com/video/fqMILPdZf5Q/w-d-xo.html

    Hello and thank you so much for this informative video. I have a question and I’d appreciate if you could answer. We are planning to spend 6 days in Kansai region. As far as I understand you stayed only in Osaka for the rest of the trip and went to other cities for day trips. Is that something you recommend? If so, what train ticket should we get for 6 days to visit most of Kansai region?🙏🙏

    • @remishimazu
      @remishimazu  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that's correct! we took all these day trips from Osaka. However, you could also use Kyoto as a home base. I recommend also spending at least a 3+ days in Kyoto if possible. There's a lot to see in Kyoto but everything is pretty spread out so I recommend staying in the area. I hope this helps!
      You could get the Kansai 4-day pass if you plan to use Kyoto as a home base (it's farther away from Kobe & Nara than Osaka. Otherwise, I don't think you need a train pass for a six day trip in the Kansai region alone.
      I recommend using an IC card (suica or pasmo) that you can refill and tap in/out of stations. Note that the Limited Express trains (like the popular one to Nara) is not covered by JR Passes and require an additional ticket that you can purchase at the gate entrance.
