As a former electrician, I strongly suggest you install, or hire someone to install the correct size disconnect switch between the breaker and the substrate mixer. Ever time you use the breaker to turn the power on and off you are causing arcing within the breaker and reducing it functionality as a safety device designed to protect the equipment, wiring and personnel. Also you maybe giving your insurance copy a reason to not pay a claim if there is a fire and the insurance inspector finds no disconnect switch and the breaker was used to turn the equipment on and off. Loving your style and thorough teaching technique.

Everything is recalled these days. We only find out about the filthy conditions and violations long after many people have gotten sick and died. Imagine if every factory had to show us start to finish where our food comes from like this young man did? get a little bit of a smaller bucket, cut the bottom out and then put your bag around the outside. It will really help make it easier to bag up the substrate, just pour into the bucket and then lift the bucket to have a clean bag filled. Or use the 5 gallon bucket and larger bags. I do this with bagging aggregate at my landscape supply company and it works wonders!
BRO YOU USED TO COME INTO MY FIVE GUYS ALL THE TIME FOR A VEGGIE SANDWICH, WILD THAT I SEE YOU ON MY TH-cam PAGE RANDOMLY. DOPE DUDE, ALWAYS SAW YOUR TSHIRT AND WONDERED WHAT YOU WERE COOKIN
Mike, you might also want to get a good detailed city water analytic . They are very inexpensive and will tell you a lot about the water quality and give you a baseline for comparing down the road. I would also recc. de-chlorinating all your process water. Chlorine and fungi don't play well together as you know but furthermore, any time you heat the city chlorinated water, you are prompting corrosion of all your metals. Since you don't use a lot of stainless steel, this might be a $$ consideration down the road. Great looking process by the way. Being a microbiologist and having served faithfully in the brewing business for 20+ years, I can spot success when I see it. The devil is in the detail! DD

would coconut coir be a good substrate with an additional supplement? Coconut coir typically does not decompose as fast as other organic products but is known not to support harmful pathogenic growth but that may mean that the mycelium may not thrive in it. Also, what do you end up doing with the used growing media? Oak sawdust typically has high tannic acid in it and doesn't make the best compost for gardens.

Sub'd. I am 45 and only starting now to respect mycology! It is an answer to many MANY ailments. Thanks for your vids! I have started growing small in my little one bedroom apartment and am working on King Oysters and Lion's Mane. Again, thank you!
I've never liked mushrooms. Ever. Your channel has me looking at them differently now. Love how you just do your thing and you provide a wealth of information.
@47 E.B.O nope. Don't like them on pizza at all. But it's great in a broth

I could listen to this guys advice all day long. Thanks brother for everything!
Yo man, just to add to your story here, I read that the reason we add gypsum is to stabilize the pH, also to improve overrall mineral content.
Wow! Very impressive, well-spoken young man. It was a pleasure to listen to you, even though I’ll never be doing this. Absolutely lovely. 💖
the crunch of the bags sounds nice tf

Thanks for this awesome video - I've grown mushrooms (oyster, shitaake) from kits, but want to move toward using my own medium and making grain spawn as a homeschool project with my son. Really appreciate the detail on the substrates and process. Your knowledge and love of the process is apparent - wishing you luck and success in your business!
I was homeschooled and value these little projects I had with my parents so much I bet he had a blast
❤️ Amazing. This man just showed us the entire business and process. The absolute cleanliness and dedication to these mushrooms will have me looking him up and buying mushrooms from this company. These days it's hard to trust any companies that offer food. Food production is like a big secret behind closed doors. We are never shown where the product enters and exits. Everything is recalled these days. We only find out about the filthy conditions and violations long after many people have gotten sick and died. Imagine if every factory had to show us start to finish where our food comes from like this young man did? We would know exactly who to trust and who is safe to buy from.I really appreciated this video. They have a new long term customer here. ❤
I love channels like “Proof Bread” and now this one. Just artisans conversing with us and doing their thing 🤙🏽
I've just subscribed to them too. Hopefully the TH-cam algorithm will start putting more artisans on the feed.
These are the type of channels that should be promoted!
Success should be measured at it's equivalent of passion.. This guy says a lot without wasting words. Really enjoyed the lesson on shrooms. Awesome to see a person's light shine..🤯✌🏼🙏😎🍄
Man you have a cool job...Thanks for sharing this information, I'm hungry for learning how to grow mushrooms...
Love that he doesn't just say boiling water, he says the exact temperature. Man really knows his processes.
boiling water is always 100 degree's Celsius. If you water is above 100 degrees it is termed superheated and must be confined to allow a increase in pressure.
its the same as freezing water. As if you have a slush the water will not get below or above 0 degrees.
The above is only at 14psi (atmosphere pressure)
@@generalharness8266 BP also depends on whether the water is pure or not. Tap water will experience BP elevation and FP depression due to the additional compounds in the water.
You have to its science!🤓
@@mikehancho1613 More than that, it's a health hazard. If you don't put in the effort to make sure things are properly sterile, you could sell somebody contaminated produce and make them sick. Bad for them, but also bad for your business since you might get sued into the ground.
You have a gift for teaching. I could listen all day.
When you see a man taking care of his product with such care and passion you know its a top quality stuff
Don't just take them, I made a lot of researches on shrooms, was really curious to take them, thanks to adam_shrooms on instagram,he came through for me and guided me.
Many years ago I worked on a large mushroom farm and we used sterilized horse manure substrate and mushroom spoors grown on millet.
This man just gave a free masterclass.

Was never into mushroom cultivation but this has been enchanting
Man he’s well versed, you can tell he loves what he’s doing, it’s a shame everyone doesn’t get to experience that at work. BOL, first time watching, and I’ll see ya in the next video.
Thank you so much for sharing this info. God, Humans, and the Mushrooms thank you. You are pushing culture forward, and if our society could increase the value we put on mycology and mushrooms we will be much better for it. More life brother!
Man O.G I learned so much from you in this video on mushrooms and the whole intricate process of farming. I honestly was surfing thru the net looking at growers & different soils and techniques. Then your video was recommended to me, changed my whole morning & 🌎🥽🥼👕👞👑🧬
You are very knowledgeable and make mycology seem like a very fun and approachable activity. Love your vibe and what your doing man. Love how organized and smooth your facility, tools, and operations are. Thanks for sharing the information, creating your videos, and hosting them on your channel.
Man I've got to say, you have inspired me. I'm looking at 34 jars of spawn with a dream . Its SO hard to have faith but with what you have been saying and every little comment about how THIS used to be done in my garage really gives me hope. YOUR LIVING THE DREAM!
Wonderful dig into shroom growing details, I’m speechless 😶

Fascinating!! This guy is so knowledgeable, and he has fun with his “job”. So well presented
Do you do any intern programs? I’m in your area and I’ve been growing as a hobby for a couple years.

You have such great energy, your willingness to give knowledge and help is very honorable. I hope your business is doing amazing
Second video of yours i watched this morning. I'm really interested in growing mushrooms even though I live in an apartment. I love you argentino to detail selflessness in sharing. Thank you.
look up Martha tent
get a little bit of a smaller bucket, cut the bottom out and then put your bag around the outside.
DD
What other characteristics are critical? Imagine target ph level may vary by variety, or not really?
Randomly stumbled onto this video but I stayed because it's really cool to see someone who is working that knows so much about what they are doing and what the stuff they are working on does. Knowledge is key people.
This dude has such a huge advantage with the Magic Mushrooms Boom incoming
Do you think shrooms will become more popular soon? Why? They are well known for some time and demand is pretty much the same

I used to work as a Project Manager and Electrical Lead managing projects building autoclaves, oven, and so on...
I designed their control and power systems from scratch and I thought it was very fun... The autoclave that I worked on was up to 10' X 20' I thought they were very impressive
It's great you're sharing all this information and it's easy to watch and digest. Respect for being a father and growing so nice of a business.
So, this is my dream and you are my dream man ♡ a little young for me now, but what an intelligent and happy young man you are! I love how you run your business and I wish you many more years of continued success! You really deserve so "mushroom" to grow ♡
This is amazing! I am basically doing the same thing but on a much smaller scale from my home. I hope to be like you one day soon! Keep up the good work!
Love u mushroom man. U inspire me
I've never grown mushrooms before, this makes me want to start my mushroom growing business
This dude is the coolest , what a gem of a person, the knowledge he drops …
Hey, love the videos.... As an electrician I would humbly suggest getting a starter for that machine, using the breaker to turn it on and off, is hard for the motor and the breakers. Breakers are not really meant to be used as switches. If I were local I would offer to do it for the cost of the materials and a tour, but I am in Texas.
That's a good point.
I use water heater element to boil water in an altered mixer, I just wired them to a plug, any issues with that you could think of?
@@jordanmercier3616 Heater elements don't have the same issues motors do, but I would recommend it be on a GFCI oulet.

would coconut coir be a good substrate with an additional supplement? Coconut coir typically does not decompose as fast as other organic products but is known not to support harmful pathogenic growth but that may mean that the mycelium may not thrive in it. Also, what do you end up doing with the used growing media? Oak sawdust typically has high tannic acid in it and doesn't make the best compost for gardens.

You could put the tubs on a manual forklift. Once it's been filled with substrate, you can lift it to around waist height. Cheap and cheerful way to enable standing while filling the bags. Your back and knees will thank you. Great content by the way.
Thanks for this! Have you ever used alfalfa cubes as supplement to hardwood pellets? Did some cool Reishi and Lions Mane grows a couple years back. Alfalfa has immense nutrient/protein composition
Do you have a video. I'd sure like to know how to grow at home on alfalfa.
@@nohorasims656 No videos, although I may do some grow logs again now that I'm starting back up. I used 15% alfalfa (cubes for horse feed) and hydrated with coldwater and lime to 'spike the pH to 14' . This is a tek I learned from Aloha Medicinals for chem pasteurization
