I just got the left handed (I'm right handed but now I can cast right handed and not do the switcheroo) 8.5 ratio version. I love the reel. It was an addition to my Calcutta 100 92 (Yes, an old reel). I've been doing 99% of my fishing with a spinning reel. But for whatever reason, I got a bug bite and wanted to use baitcasters most of the time now. My Calcutta is a bit finicky and I had the hardest time with it. But TH-cam. My God. So much help. It's casting good now. And I got this reel. I've only backlashed once. Not really sure what happened but I upped the dial from 2 to 4 and haven't backlashed since. But even at 2 it's amazing. My only complaint, isn't with the reel. That's a 10 out of 10 for me. My complaint is the terminology. Please stop with the hyper this and the hyper that. It's.... Like reading a 50s automatic transmission ad. Use the word to describe one thing and let it go after that.
I just received a brand new Daiwa Zillion 21 SV TW G reel ( ZLNSVG100H ) but without the cast control cap or the stem. Where can I order an authentic replacement cap and stem for it or any that is compatible? I think the Daiwa part number is H28-1201 but I’m not 100% sure on that or what the stem it covers is. This Zillion 21 is a pretty well known reel so I figured you guys might have a good idea of what would work here. Thank you!
So do is it possible to put a steel A handle on the reel? The reason I’m asking is that I am wanting to get a 8:1 speed reel and I find the handle knobs to be way to small on the zillion. If so were can I find the handle for purchase?

To be totally fair Shimano isn't much better. Claiming they have a computer chip in their reel. Shame on them. It's nothing more than a variable resistance capacitor on a tiny circuit board because wires wouldn't make it sound fancy. . It just uses the same Lenz law that Daiwa has been using forever, holds it for a fraction of a second and than releases it in pulses. It's pre World war 2 technology. Exactly how most modulation pedals for a standard electric guitar works. A typical reverb, delay, chorus, or flanger. I surprised they didn't claim their reel doesn't have a quad core processor too.
Dear Brent Ehrler, Do you consider yourself a honest person.? Lenz's law, named after the physicist Emil Lenz who formulated it in 1834,[1] says that the direction of the electric current induced in a conductor by a changing magnetic field is such that the magnetic field created by the induced current opposes changes in the initial magnetic field. Ie: Magnetic fields from strong magnets can create counter-rotating currents in a copper or aluminium pipe. This is shown by dropping the magnet through the pipe. The descent of the magnet inside the pipe is observably slower than when dropped outside the pipe. (It's not the pinnacle of Japanese technology, the only thing new here is the gimmick name. It's marketing hype. they've been spinning a magnet around a drum for 30 yrs, just like in the old Procaster 101.
The aesthetics are perfect. The matte silver and black hardware are just money.

They make the best reels on the market so underatded for what they are I love the reel guy keep up the good work !!!!!
This looks sick
It looks better than it performs
Didn't yours have a problem with the plastic bushing that is inside the spool and a plastic washer that is on the pinion support?
On order!!

Yes its really small. I already change the handle 😁
Hawgtech 102 mm swept carbon handle, get ya 1 saan, there outta Florida
How is the sensitivity of this reel? If your using a chatterbait can I feel what the lure is doing in the reel Say if you hit a rock or tree branch.
What's the difference between this 2021 model and the new US model that has a black handle?
Us model use brass main gear,,,jdm model use aluminium gear
Looks like it’ll match my elite rods, thank you Daiwa!
Matches perfectly!
If you send me one I will gladly review it and give you a non-professional fisherman's opinion 😎

Sorry.. I love ur brand but was pretty disappointed when @thereeltest tested it against the shimano metanium and lost by 17 feet
Yeah distance is not the only thing that matters.
If casting distance is the sole deciding factor when you are looking at reels, you are missing out on a lot of great features!

If he adjust the zero adjuster he will get more distance. And the brakes can go lower than he is using during the test
Really disappointed about Daiwa zillion sv tw. Boost is not reliable braking system. I think SV much better
