Bought these to minimize the width and exoskeletal feel of the Alpinestars dual axis. The TP's cut off almost an inch on the insides. I certainly feel "freer". Not as much protection from impact as the plastic unit, which is a thing for a guy with a micro-fracture repair in his knee. I swear, my replacement knee, fought off for over twenty years, will have protection surgically built-in lol

how about a test of the TP199 elbow guards?
i hear the sizing is tricky and to get bigger than you think. which is simple as there are only two sizes.

Broke my knee cap in half wearing these. Had surgery, 2 rods and wire to put my knee cap back together. I’d never wear them again

Do these dip into your boots? I have no extra room in the top of my boots

Would you say they are more bulky than the pods?

Not at all! These fit just right. The pods are wider around the knee whereas these fit tighter and are more of a sleeve. I have actually since decided to sell my knee braces.

The Pods are a real brace, this ones are a neopren sleve inside a "normal" kneepad. I have both but prefer the feeling with the TPs.

I tore my ACL in Washougal whoops wear Asterisk Ultra Cell with the BOA system. IMO all depends on the crash. That said, I do not have these, but I do wear less restrictive knee pads/braces because I feel like I can move better.

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully you already back on the bike! :-)
I have bought Asterisk Carbon Cell (still using only for rehabilitation)
To be honest I tried the ultra cell as well in different sizes, but did not feel that good, the Carbon Cell fit way better, no empty space - less risk. I am going to use the anti rotation tether and hopefully the risk of this injury will be on the minimum level.
In the beginning of shopping of course I wanted to go on cheaper wayâ€Ķ
