riding down here in the Fl woods, your knees are prone to hitting everything. So I like the Mobius knee guards. Yeah, their big, but they wrap around the knee and have plenty of coverage below and above the knee. They are mostly solid, so sticks, etc.. can not find a hole and puncture you.
After I "tuned them in" to fit perfect, I can not tell I am wearing them. At 65, I can not afford a knee injury.

Not good, you need that hard plastic outer shell or something better in the impact protection area.

Used the tp199 last year, only a few rides last year because I got busy. Sat in van over winter and this year the cupped protection is totally broken down. They're very soft, can push your finger right into them easily. I'm not sure if they don't handle the cold temperatures of a MN winter or what. But they're now useless, not happy with that.

It's funny, I've been more or less hard enduro MTBing for four decades and only tried knee protection because, ya, it's annoying. (I don't think the Hex woulda helped to stop much of what I've gone through) Now that I'm moving to off-road moto, I can't imagine being without it. My inclination has been brace because of all the horror stories, but I've tried a ton and have yet to find one that fits these stupid legs right. I also tried a bunch of guards, but they all dig into my shin under the boot, except for the TP 199's. I forget they are there, but I also kinda want some hard plastic out front, you know

I use the 199 EVS pads

The EVS 199's seem weak to me as well. Not alot of padding in them and people seem to love them online. Weird.

Have you reviewed the leatt knee gaurds?

@The bevinator the have the dual axis and they're "so-so'. Tons of frontal protection but its missing padding on the side sides to make gripping the bike more comfortable. Also they arent true Leatts, their a labeled product. Amazon sells the exact same ones for like 60 bucks. I prefer Leatts 3DF line

What's that? Not a protector... Go with a cheap leatt z frame or whatever. But something so soft? Maybe for bicycle street use ;)

better than nothing but Poor if you are on rocky ground, consider your patella to be toasted if you come off . may as well be riding in shorts.

Going for knee surgery in two weeks - That looks as effective as a cloth mask for you know what.
I wouldn't let my kid sister wear those ( except for make believe )
