    I am a licensed nail tech now doing my own nails as well. Had acrylics for years and would have lifting every fill. Been using IBD hard gel for the past 5 years and I have never had a broken nail or one lift. Pretty cool stuff! Takes some getting used too with application but its worth it. I don’t even use a base coat. I always start with my challenging hand first, so I can end with the easier one. IDK works for me.
    Great video🙂💚

      Why does it burn when you put it in? I even put the light on low setting and it still burns. Also, I see little bubbles in the hard gel

      @@jessicaraga3495 are you flash curing between the layers? that helps cut down on heat spikes for me. as far as the bubbles, don't stir the gel any more than absolutely necessary. it self levels so the bubbles will go away on their own if your let the pot settle. if you cured it and found a hole from a bubble, just file it down a bit and put bonder over the area then cover with a very thin layer of gel and recure. you shouldn't have to refile it very much at all afterwards.

    Hi, to work with the poly gel better for those who prefer it thicker just refrigerate it for a while.

    • @sinverrette9803
      @sinverrette9803 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good tip. I like mine not so thick. Feels like a workout squeezing it out lol I warm some water and put my polygel in. Dappen dish. Sit that dish in the bowl of water. Drop of base and it's goes on smooth like butter.

    Those cuticle ball drills are life! I have a low key finishing touch drill. That thing surprised me to be a beginner model. Cuticles aint never looked so clean. Therapeutic.

      Yasss the cuticle ball has now become a fave🙌🏽 I now work in a salon and it helps the prep portion go much faster! I use to be scared of cuticles but it really is Therapeutic now 😂

    Hi sweetheart just watched you apply this product which I also have. I was interested to see someone else use it too ☺️. I just wish I was better at using acrylic because boy isn’t gel messy at times! You did a great job on both. I tend to veer to using tips with the gel over forms but saying that your test proved using the forms gives a more opaque pink overall. Now, you asked about wether to put base coat on the tips. This is what I do… gently rub the tip at point of contact using a pad with a small amount of isopropanol. This will slightly thin the tip to blend with the natural nail. Then with a buffer go over all the nail tips to remove the shine enabling the gel to adhere fully. Remove any dust with cleanser then dehydrate and use bonder for extra strength on the natural nail. Then I apply a base coat to the natural nail. That’s the way I do it and have no issues. Doing mine tomorrow and you’ve got me thinking now…forms or tips 🤔 lol for quickness I think I will go with tips. Just one thing that might be if interest to you, I find this gel to be a bit too runny and makes it difficult to work with I don’t know about you!? I also have a builder gel (clear) by Blue Sky which has a thicker velocity so moves slower. It won’t be as self levelling as ibd BUT it would give you more time to work your shape without any pooling. Just a thought 🤔😀💅🏻 Thank you for taking the time to share and hopefully we both take something away from this 👍🏻💗🇬🇧

      Thank you so much for sharing! And yes I actually have been missing acrylic so much lately I am definitely a acrylic girl at heart but it is extremely messy and takes me up to almost 3 hours with one hand so I had to switch to something a little faster so right now I've been having a love and hate relationship with the gel because of it's stickiness I've recently been trying Poly Gel which has been a little better but still very sticky but I will definitely look into the Blue sky gel! And Thank you for taking the time to actually watch the video really means a lot!!

    You can use brush on glue to create a layer between your nail and the builder gel and you want fill a burn when lampin.and it made my nails stay on longer I had to remove them none just broke off

  • @sinverrette9803
    @sinverrette9803 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Oh snaps I'm glad you talked about it burning. I always do thin layers..not a nail technician but a self taught enthusiast.. now I read the instructions and it says to apply base gel in-between each coat.. I'm confused.. I put the base coat on the whole nail. I found it to slip without the base coat on the whole nail.

    • @luchsiaslife9156
      @luchsiaslife9156 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey there this base coat that I have to use before the builder gel. Are you saying we have to put that layer in between each builder gel layer?

    • @wild-flowers213
      @wild-flowers213 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      which formula are you using? the hard builder gel led/uv in a pot, which is what she used in the video, doesn't require any base coat. i had to pull out a box just to doublecheck i wasn't doing it wrong haha. i have found that flash curing it between layers cuts way down on the heat tho.

    Do you need a primer ? And what if you don't have one?

    • @itsjustkala
      @itsjustkala ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if you're doing gel a primer is a MUST but if you don't have it you could probably get away with just using dehydrator (or rubbing alcohol to clean the nails before application) it just depends on how rough you are with your hands and also how long you want them to stay on. if you want to buy a primer there's one by model ones on Amazon for 8$ it's a primer amf dehydrator set :)
