I am a licensed nail tech now doing my own nails as well. Had acrylics for years and would have lifting every fill. Been using IBD hard gel for the past 5 years and I have never had a broken nail or one lift. Pretty cool stuff! Takes some getting used too with application but its worth it. I don’t even use a base coat. I always start with my challenging hand first, so I can end with the easier one. IDK works for me. Great video🙂💚

I put it all over and build up the apex slowly. Its harder to control the shape, but I like it. Yes, ot can get hot if it gets in the skin. I like it because theres no smell and I can cure it ehen Im ready to cure the set.

Next time just bleach your roots nothing else and only use 20 vol developer at your roots. it lifts just as much as 40 or 30. It just takes more time and causes way less damage. And if you feel the need to do the ends which it’s hard to tell if your ends needed it cause they were already toned. But put bleach and 20 vol on the ends for 5 minutes at the very end before washing it all out, just to remove the old toner. But if you think your mids and ends were already a level 10 never put more bleach on them. Bleach will break your hair off if there already a level 10. Also purple shampoo is for maintenance after toner is fading and from hard water etc. you shouldn’t use purple shampoo before toning. Or even directly after unless you want purple hair the cuticle is still too open to put purple shampoo on after bleaching…. Use it your next hair wash if you want but never before and after bleaching unless you want some purple hues

Do you use the primer with the base coat before putting the color down? I got the same kit and I am gonna be doing my nails today with the gel x tips .

Oh snaps I'm glad you talked about it burning. I always do thin layers..not a nail technician but a self taught enthusiast.. now I read the instructions and it says to apply base gel in-between each coat.. I'm confused.. I put the base coat on the whole nail. I found it to slip without the base coat on the whole nail.

Those cuticle ball drills are life! I have a low key finishing touch drill. That thing surprised me to be a beginner model. Cuticles aint never looked so clean. Therapeutic.
