I’m 7 months pregnant and my left thigh has been numb and tingly for a month. My doctor thinks it’s from the femoral nerve being compressed

It's common to experience numbness and tingling in the thigh during pregnancy due to compression of the femoral nerve; rest and proper posture can help alleviate symptoms ❤️.

Pregnancy causes compression of the lateral femorocutaneous nerve due to pregnancy and increased load to the inguinal regions. Then numb and tingly sensations are manifestions of compression which can be relieved by lying down on opposite site and unloading pressure over the inguinal regions. This is temporary until delivery with reversibility. Try to maintain adequate weight because the excess makes the problem worse and make sure there are no tight clothes or belts. I am an MD Internal Medicine physician. Good luck and happy baby!
