What’s also good for em, is those bags of fly traps. My birds love them.

Turkeys are very easy to rare when you get right information from the right people. Biosecurity and good feeding is key in raising them.

We are three weeks away from processing day and they have been so fun and easy! 100% agree that having as much good information and bio security going in is key to high survival rates.

I'm not as much interested in raising turkey as I am in lowering them.
Do you think you can make a video about that?

28 seconds in, when the baby turkey almost flies up and into the water, why not put a lid on so no birds drown?

Thanks for the great observation. We always keep the water covered. The orange bucket that the chicken tried to fly onto is the food. We did end up putting a lid on it because as they got bigger we had one or two that liked to sit in the bucket to eat which then caused a mess in their food.

What should we give them to eat

We give ours chick grower or a grain for meat birds. There is a specialized grain for game birds which has a higher protein but we didn’t have a problem getting ours to size.

They are bronze breasted. It’s a breed that Murray McMurray hatchery does. They are similar to the broad breasted (white turkeys) but a little more flavor.

That feeder is not good as all the chicks cannot get to feed at the same time

I appreciate the input. We have always said what works for one person isn’t necessarily the only right way. This has been used for multiple rounds of meat chickens for us and has worked great every time. Because of the breed we raise, we keep feed in there 24/7 (not 12 on 12 off). Because of this, they eat throughout the day without any fighting. Cornish cross are too stupid to know when to stop eating so I could see this being problematic with them if you are having to do 12 on 12 off.
