But the longer rifle storm troopers and the rebels used were built off of stg44s and in return of the Jedi they used m16s as the base for the a280. Almost all of the blasters in the original trilogy were built off of surplus guns.

    In the star wars rpg, I had a wookie that built a colonial marine style smartgun out of an e-web and a pile of droid parts. The droid intelligence acted as the gunner's mate, there was a waist harness with a droid arm holding the gun and acting like recoil compensation, and the power unit was on a backpack. He wasn't very mobile, but imagine a wookie in battle armor with something like that. It was so fun watching imperial stormtroopers break ranks and run just from seeing it.

    The way they have it stated in the FFGSWRPG is that it has cumbersome(5), meaning you need 5 brawn to use this thing unassisted without penalty.
    For reference, an average human is brawn 2, an especially athletic human or a baseline wookie has a brawn of 3. Tripods, weapons harnesses, or slings if you're a particularly beefy creature can all offset that, but I think that does a good job of conveying just how hefty these things are.
    Best real world comparison is that this thing is the space version of the American M2 .50 cal.

    From what I have read, the colour of a blaster bolt is dependant on what gas is used. There must be specifics within that.

    Wookie sees Baze (Rogue One) carrying a lightning cannon with backpack generator and looks at a E-Web and thinks… _hmm._
    Modifying it for use as a one man weapon for a Wookie wouldn't be hard, just attach a backpack harness to the generator, add the power controls to the gun (or automate them) and blast away. A Wookie is smart and experienced enough to operate both systems.
    Still, imagine a Wookie with a MWC-35c "Staccato Lightning" repeating cannon. The weight would be nothing to them, they could probably dual wield them or carry a force shield in the off hand.
    So now you need to do a video on the MWC-35c, and are it or the E-Web legal to open carry?

    the imperial version might be cheeper then the clone wars one. if the clone wars one is better it might also be more expensive so I can understan why they would step back a bit if the cost offset is enough to justify the downgread. like say the clone wars one cost ten times the imperial one. well if you can get ten for one slightly better one then I can understand it.

    "Two man crew" becomes "4 men, 2 for gun, 2 for energy pack"... and still neglects the obvious plus two for the tripod. So... six man crew.
    Plus probably another two for the local security (shown in the scene) and to replace any casualties for the crew actively serving the weapon, but fair enough that we not count them as absolutely critical to the weapon system's performance.
    None the less... it's straight up a six man crew, not four, and certainly not two. Even if not all six of them are constantly fondling the fiddly bits to make it pew pew pew, it's still six to transport and emplace and effectively employ.

    • @Jfk2Mr
      @Jfk2Mr 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think that "two for gun" means that one grabs barrel and one tripod and ammo crate, but I guess that one-two man more for more ammo crates would be still usefull
