  • Ad-FREE overview of the Thule Evo Flush Rail roof rack system - with full subtitles.
    This vehicle-specific, multi-purpose base roof rack fits the specified vehicle with a flush side rail. The system includes two Thule WingBar Evo load bars, four Thule Evo Flush Rail feet, and a Thule Evo Flush Rail Fit Kit.
    Each component is predetermined, tested and approved by Thule for the specified vehicle.
    Locks are recommended and available separately in match sets.
    The Thule WingBar Evo's internal structure creates an exceptionally strong load bar. Advanced aerodynamic design minimizes wind noise and drag. The upper T-track interface allows smooth installation and removal of compatible accessories. Thule fit engineers have predetermined the optimum bar length for this vehicle.
    The Thule Evo Flush Rail Foot provides the strongest hold, safest fit and has fewer parts than other racks for the easiest installation.
    The Thule Fit Kit is specifically engineered to have no drilling, scratching, or damage to your car in any way. The kit is engineered to make strong attachment and a smooth transition from the vehicle's roofline to the Evo Flush Rail Foot. The kit contains metal brackets, panels, fasteners, and rubber gaskets as illustrated and detailed in the product manual.
    The simplified three-part instructions are clearly illustrated to ensure confident assembly and installation of the roof rack.

    Excellent video and literally just helped me install my roof bars. If I was being overly critical, some of the key stages could do with a zoom, and some very quick rotations or flips made it difficult. Had to watch some parts repeatedly to understand exactly what just happened. Overall though, a well produced and very helpful video. Thank you.

    Hi, I have noticed when I see these roof bars around the UK some people fit them the wrong way round the wide part of the wing shape needs to be towards the front with the narrower part to the back just like a wing, nobody seems to make this crystal clear.

      Hello. There is no fore, aft designated position for the crossbars on Evo Flush systems. Generally, it is best to position the bars on the side rails with the intended use in mind. Eg: calculate rear hatch clearance needed for a cargo box, bike carriers, skis ect, then determine the rear bar position, then space a minimum of 27 inches forwarded to the front bar. Thanks!

      @stevenross-watt8640 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Many thanks, all quite clear. Question for the explanation around min 3:14- the rubber difuser string. The Instructions say I should tear the string apart. Do i? The string doesnt just come apart. Do I need to cut it? In your video you do not mention having to split it at all. But if I don't part it it won't fit, and won't look the same as in the instructions manual. Many thanks for your quick answer.

    • @rackattack
      @rackattack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good Question Esther,
      I had the same questions when I went to install Thule Wingbars. It may seem counter intuitive but you split the strips down the middle like a cheese string, I didn't have to use any cutting materials, just pull the two sides apart. Watching someone install the strips makes for boring viewing sorry about that!
      Thanks for askin!

    You seemed to line up the parts with the pair of little holes in the flush rails. I was wondering if the thule parts used them and was heartened when I saw that. But then I noticed the pair at the front were not over the parts with the holes, so perhaps they don't use the holes. Just be nice to know if the holes are needed or used or what. They are on my A4 (avant 2016), but I don't know if I need to take that into account buying a thule.

      My old Thule fit kit used the holes on my Audi Q7. This new kit seems to grip the bar on both sides instead of using the holes. Seems to me using the holes is more secure since the inside rail has no lip on Audi rails

    • @rackattack
      @rackattack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bars all have an under channel cut into them. The large sized bar may not physically fit without some modification that could void warranty. We sometimes provide that service in shop but is generally a case by case basis, depends how safe it is.

    • @cpopte
      @cpopte 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope. They are fitted in the right orientation. Think about an airplane wing. The thicker side is attacking, the thinner side generates lower air pressure and it's in the back. This is not working like an "arrow". My guess is that this way it minimises turbulence.

When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
