    I have decided to change the name of these videos to meditations, as they work as a self-administered meditation to bring you into the present moment. As you let any bothers or concerns arise, the EMDR therapy helps neutralize whatever stresses arise.
    **This is for personal entertainment purposes only. I as the creator, began making these videos for myself and they worked for just about anything and everything, so I decided to share them**
    EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) is designed to help process thoughts and feelings we may not be able to process during waking or dreaming, leaving unresolved feelings and thoughts to rise to the surface of our conscious awareness during any given moment.
    These sessions are designed to help neutralize, process, heal, and resolve unwanted thoughts or feelings.

    I've done this 3x and each time the same core emotion comes up: anxiety, fear, dread, impending doom, ghostly faces/shadows. The 1st 2 sessions the dread was viscerally gripping. The 3rd time the dread was less but the thoughts flooded in more. At one point during the 3rd session a feeling of self-love flowed in unexpectedly.

    The first week of doing this therapy I felt so many emotions and cried every time and just in general felt horrible about myself and depressed all week. However during this session I don’t feel those emotions at all, just numb to it. Is this a sign that it has worked or is my brain repressing it to protect me? its hard to tell, would appreciate another point of view

      From experience, this is the correct result of EMDR. Your brain has began dissociating the trauma with a fight or flight response. And it can take a few (or several) tries to get to that point. Especially, since this is self-administered.

    So is this just an example of bilateral stimulation? And the person stops it when they need to and tells themselves what came up and then keep going?

  • @piprogers4638

    Is this just for desensitisation or reprogramming as well?
    Is it possible to reprogram myself once the anxiety and strong feelings have passed? Thank you 🙏.

    • @davidc.2878
      @davidc.2878 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I would recommend a book called Self-Guided EMDR Therapy. According to that book, once the negative feeling has been reduced to zero (i.e. you no longer feel it), you can re-program with a positive thought while doing the bilateral stimulation again. It's definitely possible to use this to reprogram once the negative feeling has passed. (I'm not an EMDR therapist; that's just what the books says.)

      I think its more about the feelings... try to stay focused on one event at a time and keep thinking about how you felt or try to remember your exact feelings at that time. I picture the event & I say my feelings in my head over and over while I do this. Very helpful I think.

      Your brain knows best. If you’re going to another topic that at first seems random, try to see if there’s a connection. Often things that hurt are rooted in multiple or older experiences. :)

    • @davidc.2878
      @davidc.2878 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ness6133 Based on what I've read, I agree with this. Your brain may take you to something else that it needs to do before it does what you were thinking of doing. If your brain is a jack rabbit, then you might want to see an EMDR therapist to figure out how to handle this in session.

      Try concentrating on anxiety or something traumatic while your eyes follow the ball. The purpose is to retrain your brain by following the ball and lowering the power of the anxious thoughts. So it can lower anxiety attacks.

      Every day Your brain lets go of a few seconds of mental imagery. It takes a long time, a long time indeed... but as a person who has been aggressively and fatally suicidal since birth, I swear to god there’s a way through the trauma. It’s a different type of trauma and a different, nearly inexplicable type pain. The universe making fate of you to feel this way doesn’t mean you deserve it or that you did anything, it was just Mother Earth adding that to your story in it’s sick, perverse, and incomprehensible ways. Going through that type of shit, you connect with people more. The deeper the pain, (I know it doesnt seem like joy exists all the time) the deeper Life will let you Understand itself, and see all the colors Beyond the capacity of the human eye.

    THIS AUDIO IS NOT BILATERAL. IT SOUNDS IN BOTH EARS AT THE SAME TIME. IT HAS TO BE ALTERNATING

    • @davidc.2878
      @davidc.2878 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, the audio doesn't have to be alternating because the visual eye movement is enough. EMDR was originally created only with eye movement. That is the source of the bilateral stimulation, not the audio here. The audio in stereo would be nice but it doesn't "have to be" in stereo to work.
