_Lori knocked it out of the park!_ If only the rest of the world knew how awesome she and Roger are, and what they've done for the Nashville Jazz Scene.
DAMN Lori...that is some seriously great playing. Her trio is swinging hard - came for Peter, who obviously didn’t disappoint but really enjoyed finding the rest of the band.
Simply delightful, and though Bernstein is a familiar talent it is a joy to find Lori Mechem and her trio for the first hearing. Nashville is clearly more than well served. Thank you for posting.
+Nashvillejazz I will indeed the very next time I'm over in Tennessee. Our daughter-in-law is from Knoxville, but we are in the county of Shropshire, England, so it may be a while until we next visit, but until then I will keep a You Tube ear out for you. Best regards, Mike Davis
Particularly enjoyed this pianist, such variety from really thoughtful gentle open lines to full blooded chunky chords and the way she pushes the beat is what makes this swing so powerfully. Thanks.
Of course one of my favorite tunes to sing. I used to hear Sass, Irene Kral, Betty Bennett and Ruth Price sing it back in the day. Love Lori's playing. My old friend Duffy Jackson is in Nashville. Peter jis wonderful.
As usual Tony Bennett does a superior job on Nobody Else but me.....I was also blown away by the Peter Bernstein Lori Mechem treament of that catchy tune...Bernstein is a master but Lori Mechem is a great surprise to me. a swinging style worthy of all the top players like Oscar Peterson, Brad Meldahr Kenny Barron Benny Green et al!!!!! Peter Lamprakos
Wow...I sure wish I could play like here!!! Such a Gift!! I have not forgotten you...Just getting over Ribfest Last Weekend. Will be in touch!!! and thanks!!
Great all around playing. Guitar shows full awareness at every phrase, as every succession of notes sound like "exactly what was needed to be played". Like at 9:47 the way the repeated "A" tails off at beat "3" with the descending diminished chord tones. Not to get intellectual too much 'cause that's not what it's about. But good note choices from Peter. I first heard Roger Spencer with Ray McKinley ?? at Disneyland 40 years ago. I was already a fan of Ray Brown, Al Mckibbon, Reggie Workman, Leroy Vinnegar. And when I heard Roger I added him to my list.
These folks make it look so easy. Lori is one two fisted piano player. Check out her Basie tribute albums. Peter is a monster guitarist, adding to the tradition of Barney and Joe. And the rhythm section provides a wonderful "cushion. " I could listen to this all day.

A delight from start to finish. And as has been commented on, such a beautiful sound from everyone and beautifully recorded.
The sound quality of this recording is incredible!
Sounds like we need to post up more from this show! :-)
+Nashvillejazz you bet!

Wow, Peter sounds amazing as always, but Lori's trio is seriously swingin' on this. How often do you hear people play like this now days? Incredible

Fantastic.👌Superb Line Up.
Thank you so much for listening!
That is a GREAT tone on the guitar
My teacher..and one of my favorite tunes from his "signs of life" album:
I dig that Bass player.. great feel.. this whole band smokes..
Awesome !
Absolutely swingin! What a great feel. Many young jazz players have no concept of a feel like this. Wonderful players all!
That's just ridiculous you shouldn't knock young jazz players they're the future of the genre

@@Nashvillejazz piano solo was bad as hell, the sound in the high octaves was amazing!
this might be the best I've heard Peter play
Particularly enjoyed this pianist, such variety from really thoughtful gentle open lines to full blooded chunky chords and the way she pushes the beat is what makes this swing so powerfully. Thanks.
awesome, I love how Pete phrases the head...everything...
Of course one of my favorite tunes to sing. I used to hear Sass, Irene Kral, Betty Bennett and Ruth Price sing it back in the day. Love Lori's playing. My old friend Duffy Jackson is in Nashville. Peter jis wonderful.
I have fat finger syndrome on my phone!
It is easy for me to imagine that the universe dances to such an easy swinging sound as this. Beautiful!
this is actually the sound of these folks having a conversation about a topic. notwithstanding the lyrics, the topic is probably the universe...
Jerome Kern - you can't beat his melody-driven chord changes. Good playing by Peter in a solid, swinging take.

Peter is a monster guitarist, adding to the tradition of Barney and Joe. And the rhythm section provides a wonderful "cushion. "
I could listen to this all day.
He couldn't be farther from joe or barney. He plays a lot more similar to grant or wes.
Lori ,come to Charleston
Jazz A&P "Nobody Else But Me"
Wanna see you in ubud next week, but...:(
Hi Peter do you know the Belgium guitarist " René Thomas " the way you play is quite on the same mood Great.....
Doesn't get better than that bass...
Яко
Hmmmm.....that looks like the Beegie Adair trio but no Beegie and a guitar added to make it a quartet.
Медленнее ударов н 10 ,прошу..
peter Bernstein is over
Fra Me what
Fra Me what does that mean?
Pete is truly over....all OVER that fretboard like the master he is.
Bit boring guitar wise. Renditions of the 5th and change where it can't be done. I'm out!
