We hope you enjoy this beautiful performance by Beegie Adair. She was a treasure to the Nashville jazz community and the Nashville Jazz Workshop in particular. Let us know in the comments where in the world you're watching from!
We lost this icon yesterday, January 23, 2022. She shone through until her last breath, and now she can play forever. Thanks for the songs, memories, and lovely times you shared with us.
I am 81, and I am listening jazz last almost 70 years. I never heard - until now- about this lady, but I like her playing very much. ( Please, apologie my bad english. Greetings from Prague.)
Hi Antonin I'm 88 in a couple of weeks I've been listening for most all my life great stuff from this lady. When I need a lift I go to TH-cam and play one of the old ones. Just recently found Louis Armstrong 1969 In Berlin it blew me away give it a whirl
I was a young recording engineer in Nashville during the 80s and worked with Beegie and her husband Billy frequently. They were both excellent musicians. More importantly, they were genuinely nice people. They were classy, with a cool and sophisticated edge that made them stand out from the rest of us. Billy called her “Beeg” and I always loved hearing him say “hey Beeg” during our recording sessions. If you love Beegie’s music, I hope that you will love it even more by knowing what a kind, companionate, and wonderful person that she really was.
I've been listening to different variations of "Autumn Leaves" for a long long time, but I can say that this is the best live one I've ever listened! Played very softly, filled with emotions. Now whenever I listen to other Autumn Leaves I can't resist coming back for this.
I think it’s the maturity of their age... the older the person the more his brain experiences emotions that in musicians can be expressed like this! I really doubt a really young musician can express such a rich emotional scale in a piece, no matter how good his/hers technique is. I just love this video.
With a heavy heart, i just read from one of the many comments about Beegie Adair has gone last January of last year 2021. Her music will linger on and keep listening to her wonderful rendition of timeless music of all times. Thank you Beegie for your excellent music. May you rest in peace.

LOVELY!! my favorite jazz version, that touches your soul!! RIP beautiful Beegie, you made the world a better place with your amazing music. God Bless your soul . We miss you, but your music will inspire many and lives forever~We love you♥
@@reynaldon1295 Ah yes-I was a teen myself in the mid-60s. I remember it well-that was the time when a beetle changed from being something you stomped on if it got into your bedroom, to a group of 4 lovable mop-tops, who got the name for their group by changing the 2nd e in "beetle" to an a, to reflect the fact that what they were doing was creating music, which as we all know, has a beat. Thus the Beatles were born! That's the group, not literally the lads themselves of course. No, each member of the Beatles entered the world in the early 40s. Ha ha-if it was the lads that had been born in the 60s, they would've had to call themselves "Bubz on Guitars" or something. Result wouldn't have been much different though-girls still would've been screaming, but mostly coz of them playing all the wrong notes.🤪
I wish this style of music would become popular again, especially in cocktail lounges. This music induces you to "level up" and at least try to act elegantly. People have gotten too casual, and to meet someone with "old school" class is rare today.
This Beegie Adair Trio gives me a relaxed and calm feeling in both my body and mind. It's a very Great threesome ! A great pianist, a perfect double bass and a great drummer. All in all, I give a big 10 for this fantastic Jazz concert and also for the many musical numbers they play in the Jazz area. This is certainly a great instrumental trio.
So I'm a 17 year old, just a normal girl but for piano classes I have to play autumn leaves with just chords and melody in front of me. I never had done jazz before or really listened to it. I mostly listen to Kpop, pop, rap, hip hop and r&b music. I am glad they let me play jazz for the first time because now I can finally taste the beauty of Jazz music and get inspiration for my first ever jazz piece!
Yes, jazz is definitely something else. I played classical saxophone through middle school, but playing on the jazz band in high school has been an even better experience.

Oddly, her songs came on my utube a few minutes ago and Autumn Leaves was the first. My parents were musicians, and played this song often. So appropriate for Oct 2 2022. It is as if,her spirit is still here. I played Bessie Mucho in High School Concert and Marching band. I played clarinet. My brother played drums. I got emotional listening to her, today. It is. like she and my parents and all the musicians in my family and who were my parents friends, came together today to honor Ms.Begie. Adair.
ah every time i listen to this it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside, imagining what life would be in some distant village in a wooden house in front of a fireplace with a blanket on, a cup of tea/glass of wine in my hands and snow falling slowly outside. Or in another reality - in some secret restaurant or cafe, wearing a shiny 80-s style dress, sitting in the corner around a tiny table with the man I deeply love, having amazing conversations and then dancing in the middle of the restaurant. Music is what makes us live other lives, truly
Having reached 81 yrs... this piano jazz sound has always been my favorite - my time with a man I deeply love has passed... but this music alone gives me a respite from the hard times we are having in this world. That and my belief in God ...!!!
I watched this video many times and always enjoyed it. I've been thinking I want to listen to Beegie live one day, and I read someone's comment saying "RIP Beegie".... She passed away this past Sunday. I am so sad and heartbroken. Thank you for the wonderful music Beegie. Rest in peace, ma'am.
I loved this. Only just discovered her and her trio. Knocked out. Beegie weaves jazz magic from the simplest tune. Never over the top. So tasteful !! Thanks alot.

Unfortunately, I just learn BG past away in January last…she his the most talented pianist I ever heard in my life. She plays standards like anybody else. She is smooth, involved and a master in her class. Most of all, she keeps remembering me, my mother, who has been also a wonderful pianist, and a great lover of music from the 30’ the 40’ the 50’… Cheer’s to these wonderful women who have made me a better man… RF
She lives FOREVER!!! all those amazing recordings and video we have to treasure forever! Playing some lovely tunes in Heaven - RIP Beegie we will miss you. xx
The greatest performances are those that challenge our biased patterns of recognition and stand out like a complete surprise. Looking at these three you might not expect much, but then you’re treated to this absolute jewel of an interpretation on a classic theme! I loved how she casually looked at that note (an autumn leaf) in the middle of the performance, too. Precious stuff.
Beegie gave the world a huge amount of the most beautiful instrumental (piano) music you could ever want. Her style of playing is perfect to have in the background at a party or just for some alone time. She played for so, so many years…right up until her death. There will never be another like her.
I was about 10 years behind this music, but my Dad introduced me to it when he took me to my first big band concert and I too fell in love with it!!!!!!!!!! And I agree with you the music on the radio today is an extreme crime when you can't even understand the words that they are singing.
@@TheRichsaxman, I live in the Orlando area, and we have access to two public radio stations that play mostly jazz and the obligatory NPR news. I love it, I really love it.
I have just learned of this Lady and I absolutely love her! I am immediately a fan. And I am So Sorry, I just learned that she passed away in January 2022. What a great loss! I would have LOVED to have met her. Her talent and gifting was very moving and I Absolutely enjoyed her to the fullest, especially me being a musician (keyboardist) myself. God Bless your memory, Ms. Adair.
This is absolutely the most incredible performance of this piece I have seen. She effortlessly plays the piano. It seems as if her fingers are playfully dancing on the keys, like she is telling them "it's okay, I'm in control here". I know I'll never play like that, but if I could come even close, say half way, I'd be happy! I may have to make a trip to Nashville just to see her play..
Beegie I can’t thank you enough for filling our lives with such beautiful music. When I introduced my parents, who are in their 80s , to your music, they said it was gift from God. Now that gift has returned but the music lives on for generations more to share. RIP.
I started listening to Beegie About seven years ago. I love her playing. Very cool very melodic very hip.. I would say that in the last seven years, I have listened to her music hundreds of times she never disappointed. RIP Beeg.
Beautiful rendition of a true classic. This trio is immaculate! All three players show immense command of their craft. My compliments to the Beegie Adair Trio.
Uhhhh...okay....and I have never heard of this amazing woman until two days ago. Wow! Her technique is crisp and clean. Amazing! Dynamics are "on point".
Beegie Adair speaks, reads, interprets, and plays beautiful music as naturally and easily as a poet speaks, reads, interprets, and writes poetry. She's incredible.
Through your creativity, quality, freedom AND respect for each other and your art you illustrate the highest standard on being HUMAN BEINGS. Thanks so much!!
Remarkably adept and beautifully understated performance. I agree with the other comment here, this may well be the finest interpretation and best arrangement of Autumn Leaves.
We hope you enjoy this beautiful performance by Beegie Adair. She was a treasure to the Nashville jazz community and the Nashville Jazz Workshop in particular. Let us know in the comments where in the world you're watching from!

She lives FOREVER!!! all those amazing recordings and video we have to treasure forever! Playing some lovely tunes in Heaven - RIP Beegie we will miss you. xx
Emotional, talented, timeless 🎶🎵❤️
Hi Vita, greetings from Ireland ☘️. It’s lovely music 🎼 🎶 . Best wishes for a lovely week 😊🙏 Michael
Absolutely! She is so dearly missed, but we're so fortunate that she gave the world so much music. Thank you for sharing.
don't know how many times I've listened to this. so beautiful!
The best version of this classical masterpiece.
Another 81 year old jazz fan amazed at this young woman.
I hated this music when I was a kid, but now I love it. This is music. What's on the radio these days is a crime.
I was about 10 years behind this music, but my Dad introduced me to it when he took me to my first big band concert and I too fell in love with it!!!!!!!!!! And I agree with you the music on the radio today is an extreme crime when you can't even understand the words that they are singing.
Well said!
@@TheRichsaxman Not to mention the noise itself hurts yr brain!
the good music is the one that everybody is going to hear for ever, like this one
@@TheRichsaxman, I live in the Orlando area, and we have access to two public radio stations that play mostly jazz and the obligatory NPR news. I love it, I really love it.
Drummer was imaginative and had touch. So sorry we lost this lovely pianist.
Absolutely Absolutely Brilliant and Beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏
Listening to your music makes life beautiful again. Thank you!
Tout à fait!
I've had the pleasure of hearing the Beegie Adair Trio live three times in London. Such artistry and such a wonderful sound.
Sorry to have discovered her so late - thankfully her legacy of great arrangements have been preserved
RIP Beegie. Thank you for being such a vibrant rennaissance woman.
I can't imagine such effortless perfection.
Peter Hyatt Why we listen, simply sublime
Beegie can't live whitout playing piano. Just like people can't live whitout breathing. She always plays, that why it's easy for her.
Adair.
Oh my God, I cannot get over how beautiful this sounds.I have heard lots of versions of Autumn Leaves, but this one...
🙏🏻🙌🏼 we love Beegie! Thank you so much for listening.
The most emotional "Autumn Leaves" I believe.Fantastic!
Thank you Beegie for the countless hours of pure enjoyment listening to your trio
A perfect mix of soul, technicality and age. Bravo Beegie!
This absolute gem of an interpretation of this composition almost had me in tears... I'd never even ever heard of Beegie Adair before last week!
What a beautiful rendition of Autumn Leaves 💖.
Actually, the best out there, I'd say...
I may have to make a trip to Nashville just to see her play..
come on down @mcalb clan ! Beegie's next performance is Sept. 24!

Best arrangement of Autumn Leaves I've heard in a while, love this piece! 😎
Beegie I can’t thank you enough for filling our lives with such beautiful music. When I introduced my parents, who are in their 80s , to your music, they said it was gift from God. Now that gift has returned but the music lives on for generations more to share. RIP.
I am addicted to this lady’s fantastic musical style. I listen to her on Spotify on my headphones.
Me too, but on My Ipod.
Beegie is simply awesome. Dick Tynan Dublin Ireland 2020
UNIQUE and sooo classy. One of a kind today. Love BEEGIE. 💕❤️💕☘☘☘
I started listening to Beegie About seven years ago. I love her playing. Very cool very melodic very hip.. I would say that in the last seven years, I have listened to her music hundreds of times she never disappointed. RIP Beeg.
Thank you for sharing! She was such a treasure and we're so glad her music still delights audiences around the world.

new 74 yr old fan from Hawaii 🏝🌊☀️
Uhhhh...okay....and I have never heard of this amazing woman until two days ago. Wow! Her technique is crisp and clean. Amazing! Dynamics are "on point".
I have numerous recording of Adair. I consider her the top jazz piano player in the world. The melody arrangements are stellar.
Belíssimo! Beegie é uma pianista completa. Seus improvisos sobre essa obra maravilhosa são de tirar o fôlego!
Beegie Adair's performance totally threw me off guard. What a master talent!
Never had the pleasure of hearing this sensational trio before. Shame on me! Fantastic tight sound. Love it!
I also think so. How fantastic! From Japan.
What a brilliant version of one of my favourite songs. So sensible performed by all of the three. Great!
Beegie Adair speaks, reads, interprets, and plays beautiful music as naturally and easily as a poet speaks, reads, interprets, and writes poetry. She's incredible.
A lovely harmonious arrangement masterfully played by a very talented lady.
Harmonious
This brought tears to my eyes. It was a bucket list to see her play live and now I cannot. I am crushed.
Marvelous version, what a pianist! thank you! Hope you are all safe and we will soon stand for our rights to go back to these wonderful places!
Through your creativity, quality, freedom AND respect for each other and your art you illustrate the highest standard on being HUMAN BEINGS. Thanks so much!!
In 2022, I never heard about them since now! A simple great trio. Thanks guys!
Está bella Música Me transporta Al Infinito Universo y me dejó llevar por estás Notas Maravillosas y Sueño!!!!!♥️♥️😍😍🤩
Я рада, что имела счастье м ними познакомиться сейчас.
The best autumn leaves version ever!!! I love you!
I only hope that Beegie and her sides love hearing this great jazz as much as I!
Remarkably adept and beautifully understated performance. I agree with the other comment here, this may well be the finest interpretation and best arrangement of Autumn Leaves.
I had to listen to this lady playing the piano again she is absolutely unreal and a morning blessing to me second listening thanking you by.
