    • @inthepocket7405
      @inthepocket7405  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Moto Missile there are a lot of different companies that do regrinds. Razors edge knives is one that comes to mind. There also a lot of smaller knife makers that will do it too. You want to make sure they do it properly too though, and use some kind of water cooling or something, to keep from overheating the blade.

To many peaple watching videos and not actually using there gear. Any way good vid need more videos letting peaple know like you have just done good job.

    I don't understand why you would recomend a knife (@ $200.00) that requires a re-grinding of the blade to meet to your expectations.

    • @inthepocket7405
      @inthepocket7405  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just put the facts out there... a lot of people would think the blade geometry is more than fine for their edc, and that’s what I talk about. The blade grind is not up to my standard, but for most people, it would more than suffice. I recommend the knife, as long as it fits your needs and uses. If I want to spend over 200$, and then regrind my knife, that’s my own prerogative, and I wouldn’t necessarily suggest that for anyone else. I like everything else about the knife enough to modify it to fit my preference.

    Protech makes a quality product, I have a couple and plan on owning more. Mines in blue and it has absolutely no vertical movement, sorry Kenny. The only thing I would change on this one is the choil as I think the flipper is a bit sharp when it's between my middle and index finger, otherwise I love this folder. I like what you stated regarding aluminum. Domino appearance! Excellent vid!

All good buddy, I’m glad yours doesn’t😉 mine is really only the slightest bit, and nothing I would even think twice about. I totally get that about the flipper choked up. I don’t really choke up in a hammer grip, like I mentioned, but I can totally see how that would happen if you do. More of the Domino to come😁 thanks a lot buddy!

    I picked up the blacked out version with the milled handles, and the aluminum handles don't make the blade steel. If that's the case everyone should worry about flying, henceforth aircraft aluminum. It's lighter and often a better material for certain task. People should stop being judgemental about things and do research

    I like the looks of the mordax, I'm just not a fan of button locks, great vid though Kenny! Is Ryan doing ok? I tried emailing him a couple times, but haven't heard or seen anything from him in forever! Just hoping everything is okay and hes doing alright.

      I can understand that Shane. Different strokes👍 I did get a confirmation from Ryan that he’s okay, but he’s just been really busy at the new job. Also, the change in jobs made it so he doesn’t use knives at work anymore, so it changed his focus I guess🤷🏽‍♂️ Seems a little strange to me to just shut off like that, but hopefully he comes back eventually.

I had to leave him a message saying we were all worried about him, and to just let me know that he was okay. In which I received a fairly dry, impersonal response... it just seemed like a very different demeanor from him. I have to agree with your argument that aluminum DOES make a great frame material. I carry a lionsteel sr2 aluminum framed integral daily as a hard use work knife and I love it. People say it's slippery but, with the right machining, it can be just as grippy as titanium. The mordax has been on my list to aquire for a while now

    • @inthepocket7405
      @inthepocket7405  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I’m not sure why everyone thinks it’s such a inferior product. It can be slippery, depending on how it’s treated, but so can titanium. Now would be a good time with the sale going, but it’s also horrible timing with the holidays here lol it’s always a tough balance this time of year.

As soon as I got to hold this knife in my hand I was hooked I like the aluminum I’m kinda sick of TI I love the sound it makes that clinck it’s the perfect edc knife or knife period it’s refreshing to know I’m not the only one if I ever get this knife it would be the highlight of my life and knife life

    Since it's buttonlock I think the aluminium was right choice and it saved some weight compared if it was titanium... What I am more concerned about is the steel choice.. I will not buy any 20cv/m390/204p knife until I see the improvement in heat treatment cause I am up to date on all channels testing the steels and 20cv/m390/204p are all equally shit!!! The performance is mostly on the level of D2.. So far out of 20+knives I've seen tested with this material ,1was performing and another was almost there but the rest was just waste of money!!! Why would I take the chance on that if I can get knife in a better material with less or equal amount of money..

    • @inthepocket7405
      @inthepocket7405  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure man. Marek, you know I am one of the first ones to say most production m390 or family is shit, but I have to hope that someone’s trying to do it right, and this was actually done well. I’m looking forward to seeing how it does In Gerald’s test. I’ve gotten son good stuff lately, including my Hinderer Xm18 3.5 m390 (61.7hrc). So I am really seeing how the significant jump in performance shows, and I’m starting to be able to gauge it in use and sharpening. This one should perform well in G’s test, and should be hitting the mark of 60-61

    • @marekmasar5216
      @marekmasar5216 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@inthepocket7405 60-61 and above is actually great🙏 I had a bunch of ZTs in 20cv/204p and the performance was laughable.. I haven't seen cut test of Hinderer though so that is something I'm also waiting for, just 1 brand that does the HT well so I can pull the trigger myself cause I've seen m390 pm2 at 62hrc and level of performance was staggering! All 3 are great material but carelessness of some companies that cared more for the engraving than the HT led to abuse of its potential and ultimately pain the picture of shit steel witch it's not.. Hopefully this one will do what it should , otherwise the knife is fantastic design ,I LOVE IT❤️
