    So unfortunately shrimp genetics arnt as easy as putting a blue and a red together to get a purple. So Neocaridina shrimp can be broken into 4ish families. The snowballs are a family. The yellows, oranges and greens are a family. The reds, blue jelly’s and the blacks are a family. Then the last are Bloody Marys, blue dreams, blue velvet, chocolates and black roses. Now yellows can make green babies but blue dreams can’t. So those greens your seeing are from 2 yellows and not a yellow and a blue. When you cross shrimp that arnt in the same family you get clear wild type babies. But if you breed a Bloody Mary and a blue dream you will get blue and red babies but never both in one shrimp. Purple is the rarest color for freshwater shrimp. They pop up at random from blue velvet breeding groups. Hope this helps! :)

    • @_GTX___
      @_GTX___ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +72

      Also to anyone who is thinking I’m cappin when you looked at the green ones. Did you see any blue and green ones? Nope there is just yellow and green ones.

    • @nickvisser479
      @nickvisser479 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      That intresting so if I put blues with my reds would they mix or would they just have blue dreams and cherry?

    • @_GTX___
      @_GTX___ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +26

      @@nickvisser479 well that depends. There are 2 or 3 different lines of “reds” if you have Bloody Mary reds then you should get red and blue shrimp. If you have like fire reds then you will probably just get clear shrimp if the blue and reds breed together.

    • @jueadeo8843
      @jueadeo8843 2 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      I believe he got the yellow shrimp from his yellow cherry colony and there's not a single green shrimp there. So surely, the blue would've had some factor to create the green/yellow shrimp outcome.

    • @_GTX___
      @_GTX___ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@jueadeo8843 well then why isn’t there any blue shrimp with green patches? Why is it only yellow shrimp with green patches? Yellows and greens come from the same family. Greens are created from yellows without blue shrimp being involved what so ever. A quick google search will tell you that crossing colors will pretty much lead to wild type colored shrimp. Aka clear.

      @@Dropshot.TV.this isn't about luck. Just look up the charts showing which colors can give which colors. Emerald greens don't come from blues in any way. In this video they came from the yellow ones. Once you get enough of them, you can separate them and breed only them, which in time will give you mostly green babies. For instance breeders of yellows (and other examples) know that they have to cull about 10-20% of shrimp anyways, cause they will be green. Same goes for other colors. It's called "breeding true" (or not, in which case they would give a high percentage of culls

    At the end of the video, 4:50, there is a baby that looks more like a neon greenish or even maybe an "aqua" blue/green, to me. It's not green but definitely a different shade of green than the others. Again at 5:01 there is a good comparison to a larger yellow/green shrimp front left of tank

    Normally it doesn't work like that when you mix different colors of neos you going to get a brown wild type of shrimp. That green shrimps looks big and very mature there is no way they grow so big in 3 month. The shrimp only caring eggs for 30 days. Some blue shrimps has green tint in them and I think because they've been in the dark for so long they become pale and started to look more green

  • @emmasoanes7272

    Marble Queen pothos is a slightly slower grower than other pothos bcoz it's not producing as much green leaf to photosynthesise with. Also once it's root system establishes it'll start to push out leaves consistently.

    I did see that another TH-camr did a similar experiment (what do you get when you mix colors) and he found that after a few generations, they reverted to "clear" looking blah shrimp. I mean, I wouldn't mind having shrimp that blend in like they did, but breed easier than Amanos. Maybe fish wouldn't spot them and prey on them as easily? Idk Not an experiment I'd want to lose money on 😅
