Let's start off with *Thank you!* What a ride this has been for me and the team! I hope you enjoy this room. We take a lot of pride in our shrimp and all animals we care for and sell. If you are interested in our shrimp, you can find them here: flipaquatics.com/collections/neocaridina

I have been following you for a while. I remember when you made a tearful video expressing at one point how this business venture of yours hit a significant milestone; had begun to impact your life in a significant way. I pray and hope you are a God fearing man and you, your business and your loved ones continue to be blessed. I pray for you and all small businesses to continue to survive in this economy. I got back into the hobby, nano tanks and aquascaping, but I’m also an over the road truck driver. I miss my hobby and when I can finally get back into it I’d like to possibly stop by your location and get a tour. God bless! Let’s keep it rolling for 2024.

Thanks for sharing your new setup. I found it really quite exciting.
I am only at this Fish Keeping for a year.
A few months ago, I unknowingly came home with a few baby Shrimp hiding in the Moss that I went to get some.
I am really enjoying watching them.
I have 1 or 2 dark red, clear with a red belly, and a few clear, and a few faded grayish color.
I have been hearing great things about you during these past months... so this is really exciting seeing this.
I did forward this video to a high school Alumnus who is planning to get back into Shrimp Breeding again.
    We both graduated from the
W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences, Philadelphia PA.
Blessings to you and to yours.

Awesome video, Rob! The cherry shrimp colony I bought from you 3 years ago is still going strong and looking great with very little culling.
I'm really curious about the tank reset you do between imports to prevent diseases because it sounds like you already treat them with something to eliminate diseases. If you have NOT reset the tank between imports, what impact do you see on the shrimp? Any particular diseases becoming more common or are deaths more frequent?
Part of the reason I ask is because it seems like the most efficient way to keep and breed shrimp would be to have tanks like these along with large clumps of a plant like java moss. The moss would provide food, water purification, and would be an additional product to sell as it grows. It also seems like it would be easy to pull out when you want to check the tank health or remove shrimp. The only problem would be if you were worried about diseases between batches because it's harder to sanitize completely.
I'd love to hear whether you've tried keeping them with easily removable plants like java moss or more on why you choose not to do that. Thanks again for sharing your setups!

you already have the space and all those water tanks, so why not utilize it to also grow plants as well... moss balls, moss in general, and some other plants that would go well with shrimp customers...

Hi, I’m working in Aquaculture with crustacea I noticed your copper waterlines do you not find any problem with that? copper tends to be extremely toxic down to 5 ppm. Is this not the case with freshwater shrimps?

    • @philipthrasher
      @philipthrasher 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

I've heard copper pipes don't really leach in shrimp-safe ph water. So it's not a problem. It's effectively inert. Not sure about salt water, but shrimp safe water is not corrosive enough.

I don't know how much your filtered water costs you to produce, but you could probably save a fair amount of water by adding a drain tap and doing the drain and fill processes separately.
It would be easier to control the exact amount of water exchange too eg 25% change install a drain tap at 150L level leave tanks to drain and turn taps off, then use the fill taps to replenish the water. Leave the overflows at 200L to prevent accidental over filling.
    Awesome set up dude.

We haven’t seen any wild type after a year of them breeding out. Very little have shown lack of color or clear spots. Which is surprising with all I’ve seen on or read on keeping so many and letting them breed out

I have an honest question! Are the shrimp less healthy without a more "natural" environment? Like proper substrate, plants, rocks, etc?
