I have been a model railroad fanatic since I was a little boy and your layout is one more reason why I continue to love model railroading to this day. Excellent job on showing how they should be ran.
That last part reminds me of when I went across Canada last June aboard the VIA Canadian. In Edmonton instead of just going straight on a through track the train stopped, backed up - all 30 cars - onto a side track, then went forward again.
It’s been so long since ever had a Union Pacific express. That one is so amazing as it runs down the line. To bad it stop working and my mom threw it away. That was upsetting. That was in 2013. Ever since then I never got another one. I want trains like you
The video was well worth while even just for the yard seen towards the end with the UP slowly entering along with all that wonderful rolling stock. Nice video indeed.
Your layout is well-worth a "Like." Love the big mural that is seen as the UP train is pulling in to the yard. This is a very nice layout. Thanks for sharing it.
GREAT Looking trains here!! I particularly like the shot of the UP Special at 2:25 or so. The scenery there with the water looks SO real! Fantastic job on everything!
Thanks, and yeah, not about to take a passenger train through a yard at a high rate of speed.. I mean after all.... millions would die in the crash and then there'd be countless lawsuits and all the damaged equipment and then there's the clean up and repairs. Just one giant headache. :D haha... seriously though, yeah, I designed it to be operated, so it can be fun at times. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you Bishop! That would be out Grizzly Summit module with the creek, well, small river. And yeah, that KCS train is really neat. Especially that tail car... brass. Super detailing.
Good lord that's a lotta locos! I'd really like to get into train collecting again, I just can't decide on O, or HO. Most of my memories are of Lionels. I need to find a list of pros and cons to both. This was beautiful to watch
Love the realistic layout. Broken rail ties tossed to the side. Weed infested half dried out creek bed. Weathered and probably termite ridden wood at the grade crossing. Parched grass. Oil coated rocks. Just like the real world. Only thing missing is that the train headlights do not flash alternating as it approaches the crossing. I've never seen alternating headlights on a model train as it approaches a grade crossing. I suppose it can't be done.
Sorry for the late response, but the only major railroads that have flashing ditchlights are Amtrak, NS and CSX and they only flash when the horn is blowing. So if the real ones don't, our models won't have them. But yes, it is something that is done all the time for those lines that have them. With the DCC systems, it's easy to program the locomotive sound decoders to flash the lights when you blow the horn. Glad you liked the video and thanks for the complements, it's greatly appreciated.
Wow! First of your videos I've seen and absolutely love the layout! Love running Amtrak consists myself so it'd be nice to see more of those. Subscribed for sure!
Thanks, appreciate it! There will be more Amtrak on the way, I literally just finished (for the most part) putting together an Amtrak train of my own. So in a few weeks I'll be posting an Amtrak featured video.
neat video dude! your UP train is freaking nice! Will have to show this to dad, as he likes these streamlined locomotives. Looking forward also to this "Special Lighting"...
Thanks Spencer! Yeah, I'm looking forward to it also, I just hope it works out. This will be Shane's first attempt at it so we'll see how it goes. If you watch Josh (NSmodeler24) then you've already seen what it is. :D
Woah! You sir have earned a like. You must get a good pay grade if you have all those! That's about... 5k? Maybe that's too much? Most train engines are 300-500 and I saw a big boy model train today it was 1000 dollars!!
After watching this video, I am thoroughly convinced there is no actual railroad in existence that has as much rolling stock and assorted road power then you.
It's obvious you (Jason) put a lot of love and effort and talent into your hobby and I applaud you for it but have you ever considered "weathering" your engines and rail cars? It would add another level of authenticity to your already awesome work.
Great looking passenger trains, Jason. The engine terminal yard is giant, are all of those engines yours, just kidding. I like all of your videos I'm glad to be a subscriber of yours. I like looking at your trains and layout, it gives me ideas for my own RXR.

Some nice equipment and looks like a nice pike too. For the Santa Fe El Capitan a bit more research on the consist and its order would help. I especially question the two lounges in a single train.
Loved seeing the Atlantic Coast Line engines in the yard.
I LOVE these model trains! Especially in HO scale!

Thanks Kevin appreciate it. Glad you enjoy this and the hobby.
Great fun. Love those UP E units. The first protos were great.
That last part reminds me of when I went across Canada last June aboard the VIA Canadian. In Edmonton instead of just going straight on a through track the train stopped, backed up - all 30 cars - onto a side track, then went forward again.
Yeah, sometimes they gotta do things like that. Neat to see it when they do also. Thanks for watching.

The variety of those passenger cars!
The layout has been put together very carefully, and it shows.
Do you own the trains and track cooperatively, between you and your dad?
The video was well worth while even just for the yard seen towards the end with the UP slowly entering along with all that wonderful rolling stock. Nice video indeed.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the show.

Awesome video Jason! Loved the little creek by the UP passenger train and that classic KCS train was really cool!
Thank you Bishop! That would be out Grizzly Summit module with the creek, well, small river. And yeah, that KCS train is really neat. Especially that tail car... brass. Super detailing.

If the choice is between another purse for my wife, always remind her you can only use them one of the time making them envious.
Fortunately, I'm single and don't have that issue. :D
Single!... that means who could be the owner of the Southern Pacific & Santa Fe .. :D
