- In this video Pilentum Television presents a German model railway layout, which contains so many beautiful details that you can’t believe your eyes. Although the HO gauge model trains, especially the electric locomotives run with pantographs up, they fade into the background when you see the extraordinary beauty of the model railroad scenery. There are such beautiful buildings with incredibly detailed interiors for example the workshop for tractors, the locomotive shed, the old gas station or the farm that you think you are in a real world. But it’s just a miniature world built by a German manufactory for professional model railroading in 1/87 scale.
The focus of this HO scale layout is a double-tracked, electrified main line with a branching local railroad. In terms of time, the miniature world is set in Era III on an area of about 380 cm x 270 cm.
On the layout are mainly train sets in operation that were used by the German Federal Railways between the 1960’s and 1980’s. It goes without saying that the model trains have also been weathered perfectly. They look old, rusty and used. The main line is spanned by a large, rusted steel bridge, over which runs the branch line leading to the station. The station is located in the small village of Lindental. Therefore, the name of the entire model railway layout is also Lindental. Lindental is a fictional village in Bavaria. The village only exists in this miniature world.
Steam trains arrive at the railway station and rail buses depart. Next to the station there is a freight loading station and a small locomotive shed for maintenance work. This locomotive shed is completely furnished - it’s amazing! The model railway layout was built for a customer who is a Märklin fan. Therefore, we unfortunately have to see the ugly three rail track. But Markus from Pilentum Television often made such camera slides that the tracks are not visible. Underneath the layout are four hidden fiddle yards where trains for the main line and branch line are parked. The entire rail network is controlled digitally via the PC software “Train Controller”.

I'm blown away. You guys even banked the turns. There were cupboards and a coffee pot in that house! That small pond looked so natural with the tree falling into it and the deadfall. This is art.

I love model railway layouts which have lots of little details! So many, that you wouldn't really see them all, but they just add such realism to the layout, and make it come alive! 😍
I found myself wanting to lie down on one of the grassy patches and watch the trains go by. Remarkable realism!

I cannot believe the beauty of this layout. Even with a 8k camera, the details are simply perfect. I loved the opening shot because as the train on the lower track went by you could see its reflection in the stream. I have never seen such beauty. Who ever built this layout should get some type of award for outstanding realism and beauty. Wow!!

The people who do this are so good at what they do, they should recreate the world as it used to be. For example, Europe's medieval landscapes, etc.
The authentic look of all of the structures, landscaping and rolling stock is truly phenomenal, I cannot imagine how many hours were spent creating this fine layout.
So much detail everywhere. The track doesn't offer the trains a chance to wobble. So well laid out and finished. Beautiful work.
Remarkable!!! The only suggestion I would make to bring this whole story to life, is perhaps more figurines in the open spaces to tell some interesting stories - cyclists, hikers, workers, pedestrians, etc. Also, I noticed some of the carriages had figurines, I would suggest adding more in different poses etc. in the carriages.
I wonder what this layout looks like in a night setting? Another dimension!

I love the folds, dips, and little valleys in the hills, nice to see nature modelled so well. The trains ran well, so smooth, and most of the freight being of a decent length.
One can certainly appreciate the attention to detail and the solid effort made in making that model. My favourite was the petrol station by the bridge

At last! A beautiful modeler's layout with Märklin trains and accesories. I had almost lost hope. It's breathtaking! The scenery is paradise. Pantographs up all the way. Even K track and switches look superb here! Wonderful wide curves with flex track. Everything is beatiful. Other Märklin enhhusiasts can learn a thing or two. You made my day!
These layouts are on par with the absolute best in the world!!! Very few have the talent and minds eye that is required to build something as absolute real as these videos show. Just mind blowing to have the raw talent to pull something like this off. I'm just speechless!!!!!

15:28 The terrain work is outstanding as exemplified here. That looks like real grass. That looks like a dirt road that came about in part because it was driven over through the years. Even the currently unused farm plot on the right looks like it should. Quick... go out there and plant a cover crop so the wind won't blow all the topsoil away! 😬 I think this part of model railroading is too often under appreciated, and is difficult to do convincingly. Bravo! 😃

The scenery, the trees and shrubs. The grasses and soil. This is a very well done and inviting world to lose one's self in for a time.
Truly amazing. The detail and realism is incredible.
Remarkable achievement in modeling. There are far too many superlative aspects of this incredible layout to adequately comment upon them here beyond what others have already said. One special thing that jumped out to me was how this modeler was able to create tree foliage in the stage of seasonal change from summer green to autumn hues all in the same tree! I don't think I've ever seen that done before. I would like to know how this was accomplished. It demonstrates how skilled and imaginative he/she is, and what a great eye for prototypical detail it's creator has. It's one thing to notice it in nature, but an entirely different and rare occurrence for someone to re-create it in miniature....truly gifted as an artist as well as a modeler.
Wonderful, romantic time travel at its best. I miss that time, we had no money, but no body else did either, so we were happy. Thankyou.
У нас в СССР тем более больших денег ни у кого не было. Но, тем не менее, модели железной дороги из ГДР были достаточно доступны, по крайней мере в крупных городах.
У многих детей была железная дорога, мы её называли "немецкой", с разными строениями, деревьями и машинками в том числе. Многие став постарше делали макеты, хоть и не сложные.
А сейчас же железнодорожное моделирование стало довольно дорогим и доступным не всем. По крайней мере у детей сейчас таких моделей нет, ими исключительно взрослые занимаются.

What an absolute gem of a layout .A credit to the builders and modellers .
This was a feast for the eyes and soul. The details of this layout are amazing. The walls blend in so well with the trees and hills. You can't see where one starts and the other stops. There were so many great video moments in this wonderful little movie, but I really enjoyed the steam engine train passing under the camera. Having that wispy smoke float by was thrilling. Oh, Thank you so very much for this beautiful movie.

8K makes 4320p. About nobody of us has seen the real quality, unless you have an 8K screen at home.

@@pilentum Na klar, es gibt auch Maerklin. Wo ich hier in Calgary auf die Hochschule gegangen bin habe ich eine kleine Maerklin anlage gehapt. Weiss garnicht was damit passiert ist, wuenschte Ich haette sie noch. Ich bin jetzt Rentner und suche ein neues Hobby.

Detailing on the catenary and posts is what really sets this apart from a lot of layouts. I see this overall level of detail in Japanese modellers'/layout creators' works, but extending weathering and other detailing to these elements in rare even there.

Phantastisch, überwätigend realistisch, ob die Botanik mit all ihren Facetten - man achte auf die Wiesen, Feldwege, die Patina an den Gebäuden, Signalen....könnte ich doch nur per Knopfdruck in die 60er Jahre, meine Kindheit zurückreisen, genau die Epoche die hier so großartig abgebildet wird - aber auf Nimmerwiedersehen, denn das Hier und Heute ist nicht mehr zu ertragen....
...und demnächst wird das Hier und Heute noch rot-grün-gelb :-)
