    The prerequisites are :
    A BMW supporting ENET, like the F-series
    A correctly installed ISTA/D
    A full psdzdata package
    An ENET cable
    A correct power supply (no so cheap) to maintain a decent voltage (ex: 13.5V) during the programming session DO NOT PROGRAM AND KEEP THE CAR RUNNING. A 45A capable power supply is a minimum ! It all depends on your car and the number of modules installed.
    I strongly suggest having SATA SSD, or even better NVME disk on your laptop to speed up the process.

    Hey thanks for your video. By chance did you do some network settings before? I can’t seems to connect using ENET cable.

    • @AdrianJayeOnline
      @AdrianJayeOnline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey mike txs for viewing and your comment if you go to 1:47 you need to set local area network (LAN) IF it does ask you for an IP address, open a CMD prompt, type in ipconfig, and get your ip v4 address, something like 168.1.2.3 nd use that, I couldn't get anything else to work

    • @AdrianJayeOnline
      @AdrianJayeOnline  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ALSO make sure your LAN port is working, try connecting to your home network, router or office using the LAN, if it does work, then the ENET cable will work, if not, yourLAN port is kaput, if the LAN works then the cable is faulty, you also need to make sure ISTA works with the USB K CAN, if that works, GENERALLY ISTA is fine and it's your ENET cable

    • @AdrianJayeOnline
      @AdrianJayeOnline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      also no network settings need to be set on the laptop, LAN either works or doesnt, make sure it's not disabled in device manager in windows

    • @AdrianJayeOnline
      @AdrianJayeOnline  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      ALSO.. LOL, on mine, it's wouldnt go any further, than checking codes, it will freeze, I even tried another cable, could be my ista, but others have got it to work, I just use my k-can, that works fine

  • @brianbrian5259

    Hey im kinda late. My question: Does the ENET cable also work if your laptop doesn't have an Ethernet port but instead I use an adapter from USB -> Ethernet. So I plug the cable in the adapter. (My normal LAN works fine with the adapter).

    • @AdrianJayeOnline
      @AdrianJayeOnline  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Brian, I don't see why not, all the adaptor is doing is taking it to an ethernet, it should, pls try and report back, a lot of new laptops DONT have LAN as majority of people have fast wifi

      ISTA+ (AKA Rheingold or ISTA-D)
      1. DIAGNOSTICS for All Vehicles
      2. PROGRAMMING for F/I/G/RR & MINI, but requires an ICOM
      • ISTA-P
      1. PROGRAMMING traditionally for all chassis, but F-/I-/G-series phased out
      with 3.63.5 release (March 2018).
      2. ICOM Recommended. An ICOM emulator with K+DCAN or ENET can be
      used, but will NOT communicate over all protocols to program every ECU.

    How do we safely disconnect after reading some fault codes? Close ISTA and pull the cable?

    • @AdrianJayeOnline
      @AdrianJayeOnline  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey, now this is a very good question, something I should consider putting in to a video, in fact I will. ISTA is a BMW tool, it is designed and used on a tablet type device, you switch it on and its there (no loading) switch it off and its gone...
      On laptops we are using a "hacked" version of ISTA
      Basically. if there are no processes happening, i.e. clearing codes etc, you CAN just unplug. NO harm will come.
      On ISTA there is no exit as in most computer programs, I have found when you hit the X at the top left, to END the program, you do get a message, similar to closing down etc.
      On mine it NEVER does, so I just go to the process's and end the task.
      My laptop is a dedicated laptop, so shutting down a program or even turning off the laptop does no harm.
      SO, watch out for my video, but hope that helps explain it !

      enable ENET programming in ISTA
      -------------------------------------------------------
      A configuration file is located in your `ISTA\TesterGUI\bin\Release` folder : ISTAGUI.exe.config
      Don't be overwhelmed by this fat XML file, you just have to look for `` and then add or replace a couple of keys :
      `BMW.Rheingold.ISTAGUI.enableENETprogramming` to "true"
      `BMW.Rheingold.Programming.ExpertMode` to "true"
      `BMW.Rheingold.Programming.Enabled` to "true"
      Alternatively, you can add entries to the Windows registry rather than editing the configuration file :
      in `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold`
      you would add the same keys, with the following string value : True

      In Ista / Reingold, it uses databases. So basically the PROGRAM it self has different versions, but it is a BASE program. It relies on being updated by various databases. This connects to your car. IF the databases are wrong, you'll have a problem. I would suggest to make sure you have all the proper databases, you could go to Bimmerfest (BMW forum) and ask on the coding section, somone may have a link for the correct databases.
