I've been debating whether or not to comment. But I lost my dad two years ago, and the youtube algorithm blessed me with a video of yours from six months ago and you look so much like him that I literally felt my heart drop. I've been watching a ton of your videos and it feels just like having him around again - camping, drinking a beer, and generally just enjoying life. Thanks for making nice videos.

Can we get this to the top? I lost my dad in 2014 and he would have loved Steve’s videos. I’m sorry about your dad and I’m glad you’ve found a similar love watching these videos like I have!

That's so sweet. I think I kind of feel the same way. My Father is still with us but I haven't heard from him in years and I wouldn't be the Nature Boy I am today without him. Although we are distant as can be now, I feel a strong connection here. You should watch his Boondocking Doc. It is awesome.

Thank you guys, I'm sorry but also sort of happy to hear that I'm not alone in finding such a specific kind of happiness in Steve's videos.
My dad loved camping. He ended up buying an RV and living out of it so he could travel around a little bit. He loved being out in the rockies and just enjoying his time with a few beers and a few buddies.

I used to do something similar but in my car growing up lmao! I used to get kicked out of my house often so I'd always hang out with friends at car meets and shows etc. in the evenings and then go and "scope out" a stealth camping spot for my car and I to sleep. Any of my friends would have let me stay with them in a heart beat but I didn't want to impose and to be honest I always enjoyed the adventure of sleeping in my cars. Always be watching for security, people milling about, evidence of others left behind, similar to what you do. Didn't want a spot too remote as I didn't want any trouble with people messing with my car but not too populated as to draw attention. One of the most memorable nights, I posted up behind a warehouse by myself and woke up to 5 or 6 semi trucks around my car. When I crawled out of my car they all were sitting around a mini BBQ making sausages and stuff and they looked at me and said "long night eh? Want some breakfast?" So I sat with them and had some bacon and sausage. It was super fun. Not sure how I stumbled upon your videos but they are fun to watch! Brings back memories.

I imedeatly thought of going camping like Steve once per week, thank you Steve Wallis for the life saving idea. Now I just have to start saving and buying proper gear.

I work at a Wal☆Mart and we have this area in the back of the store that empty pallets and the recyclable cardboard and plastic sits waiting for pick up. It's enclosed by a wall on one side and some trees and a fence on the other.
Anyways, one day the janitor found a little tent ⛺ some guy has been living in. The area was clean, all of his possessions were there, nobody had any idea he was there.
Anywho, janitor tells the management, they call the local police and throw his tent away and the cops kindly took his stuff in a couple of bags.
Dude came back, and was upset, and even though I wasn't there, I was told the cops were called back and he admitted he was out there for almost a year.

Just stumbled upon this channel now. How it has evaded me until now I have no idea. But I used to do this when I was MUCH younger and found that when scouting out places it was always a good idea to take an old dog leash with me. This way if anyone ever questioned what I was doing there (and they did) I would tell them my dog got off leash and I saw it run in this direction. 9 times out of 10 they'd tell me to go ahead and look but to hurry up. If I was hassled I rarely went back but this gave me a good idea of how much attention they paid. Oddly enough I still instinctively keep an eye out for places like this and have a park nearby with some amazing potential.

I like Steve camping and locations. I am jealous of how well he can control his sleep no matter where he sleeps. I wish I could sleep that well.

A wave of fatigue hit me as soon as I got home. I knew I had a fairly solid sleep because I was having vivid dreams, but 7am and me are not good friends haha

Steve! Your personality is enough to make anyone smile. I can’t stop laughing at the makeshift tire stove. Another great camping vid, thanks!

    Love this guy.
Knows what he likes and doesn’t get corrupted by youtube/monetisation. It really shows in your work mate. Absolutely authentic.

It's refreshing. I get that it's a legitimate income stream, but he's real enough to not be one of those "subscribe beggars." Very clear that this is what he enjoys doing, and that's the key to anything being sincerely interesting to a viewer.

I get the feeling that there are a lot of times where someone says, "There's no way that someone could camp here and not get seen..." And then Steve says, "Hold my Step 2..." ;)
