WOW! Great instructional video. Saved me a ton of $$$ by repairing my 2012 Chrysler 300C AWD UConnect myself. Purchased the HFM directly from Mopar parts for $267 plus $30 shipping. Received the unit in a couple of days and installed it today. Works fine. However, it took me a couple of hours because I couldn't get at the rear screw holding the unit to the frame. Use a 7mm socket attached to a large socket knob to break it loose. Also, I had a very hard time removing the USB connector because you need to strongly press down on the release tab. The radio connector just pulls out with some screw driver prying.
Ron Jackowski .wow you did have a hard time. Fortunately I didn't have a hard time with my cables and screw. I would gladly spend the time to save some money
Mate!!! You are a bloody legend. Dealership wamted $1100 aud to fix it. After seeing ur video, went on Amazon got new module for $248usd, with delivery ended up $400 australian dollars less than half and just replaced it. Thk you so much
Thanks so very much. I was told the part alone would cost $ 700.00 not including installation. I'm 83 years old but thanks to your very simple and clear instructions , even as stiff as I am I was able to find this at less than half the price I was quoted and do this myself.
before replacing try reflashing the module. I had this error and what fixed it for me was I found a German site for Journeys that had the same problem, basicly what you are doing is flashing the module like the dealer would. You do have to have some electronic, computer skills because you have to either get the connector or make one to connect the module to your computer. If your interested let me know, I am not the original person who camew up with this fix,hes the guy on the GErman forum. I do see people on youtube using his method and not giving credit. I am making this because I am trying to get let people know they can do this them selves and not pay some guy that stole the software.
I found it on Amazon for less than $240 & free shipping. But, it depends on your vehicle so use your VIN and make sure you order the right part #. Good Luck.
is there a fuse for the Bluetooth module I can pull out instead of having to buy a new Bluetooth module? Because I heard that being broken drains the battery.
I had this same issue with my 2013 300c… saw the price of the module and decided to take the module apart and find the issue, they got a little skimpy with the solder. I’m assuming if your car sits outside in direct sunlight the temp change from hot to cold is enough to make those solder connections brittle causing bad connections. I fixed mine in less than 30 min. I’ve done similar repairs to control boards in a lot of furnaces.
Great video Brian, Thanks. I bought a 2013 Chrysler 300C Luxury with 40K miles on it in October 2017 from a Used Car Dealer. BEAUTIFUL car.... Got it home and couldn't get any of our phones to hook up, no voice commands, etc. I thought it was me and I just needed more time to figure out the new car's systems. After a week, I did some online research and tripped over your video. Wow. I bought the module online for $235 +Free Shipping and it arrived yesterday. I just finished replacing the module (11/1/2017), which only took about 30 minutes, start to finish. Fired up the beast and BINGO... hands free/bluetooth works like a charm! Thanks again B...
Turns out one of my family's 3 Galaxy S6 phones wouldn't download its mobile phone book to the Uconnect. Wasn't the module this time.... after several hours of trial and error I isolated the problem to that one phone's contacts list. Apparently it wasn't configured correctly so I had to export all the contacts to another phone, delete all the contacts from the phone having the issue, and then import the contacts BACK to the phone. Re-paired it with the vehicle and now it sees the "phone book" and voice calls by name. MAN... I feel like I should be working for Chrysler...
Brian, Even though it took me a lot longer to do the job than I had anticipated, it was with it. I also gave a feeling of accomplishment for doing the job myself and not paying a dealer a lot of monrey. I would not even attempt the repair without your video. Thanks again!

Sounds like your bluetooth module isn't working properly. If you are not able to connect your phone via bluetooth or the VR button on the steering isn't responding, replacing the module will most likely resolve your problem. If you want to confirm this have your dealer run a diagnostic. The module have gone up in price since I've posted this video. Good luck

They were no updates available when I created this video so if an update is available I would try it first because the module is now selling for 500 bucks....yikes
The only reset I got from Chrysler is to hold the voice and phone button together with the car in ACC mode for 30 sec. then turn off the car open the door and leave the door open for 30 sec. This did not help
Darnell Lee seems like a common problem . follow the video instructions and you can do it yourself. NOTE:use a short Phillips screw driver to get the old module out.

After replacing the module, does the track info (artist album song name ) finally appear??
J K this module does not affect that part of the uconnect system. I've never had an issue with audio information while using the usb or CD player
Brian Freeman so when you connect to Bluetooth and play a song, does it display the song info on your display? Mine never has.
Bluetooth audio nformation is not transferred to the uconnect system on my 300. This feature is available on the newer models. Wish it did
J K this feature is available on the newer uconnect system not sure what year that feature became available
That is the biggest piss off about the Uconnect, how did they allow the BT not to show track info??
Where did you order your part from?
Shop Amazon or eBay. FYI the coat has gone waaaay up for the module
@@bfreeman168 Thanks

Brian Freeman.
does it need programming after you habe installed the bluetooth module ?
MyNaim1 no program needed from the dealer. but provide them with your Vin number to confirm the correct part number.....
No program needed from the dealer but i suggest that you provide them with your Vin number to confirm the correct part number.....
Works perfectly..thank u n I did it myself.....
ignore my question. think I can do it
Dodge is trying to tell me you need to bring it in to get it programmed?
No programing needed . They tried to tell me that too . Once you get the correct part number it will work when the connection is complete
👌🏽
Do you know of there is a reset for this module?
The only reset I got from Chrysler is to hold the voice and phone button together with the car in ACC mode for 30 sec. then turn off the car open the door and leave the door open for 30 sec. This did not help
can you make video for that
Where exactly did you got the new module from?
www.officialwholesaleautoparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-control-module-68222278aa
Many companies sell them I would use Mopar parts but I added a link
Thanks a lot dude this helped me a lot
So I’m other words it need to be replaced cause it needs an update
Try the update first. If that don't work then yes the module need replacement. FYI they are pricey now
Thank you!!!!!
Glad this video helped
Where did you bought this part?
Do a search online using the part number on the video...FYI the module is gonna run you around 500 bucks now
Where did you get the module from
Darnell Lee .I found the module on eBay. looks like the company I bought it from is out of stock but others do sell it. do not buy a used module

Brian Freeman thanks same thing happened to my 2012
Darnell Lee seems like a common problem . follow the video instructions and you can do it yourself. NOTE:use a short Phillips screw driver to get the old module out.
Brian Freeman thanks bro

$560 on that link
The price on those modules doubled in price when the dealer saw that anyone can replace them 😡
Can you get me the part number please?
one minute 48 seconds in the video will show you the item number
@@bfreeman168 thanks bro
Thank you so much for the video. I feel confident that I can do this on my own!
Heidi Kapp-Clark you can ....just use a shorter screwdriver and you will get it done
Mine went out for months. Battery went dead, charged it back up, and Bluetooth works again.
Man your video saved me tons of money, can’t thank you enough. Is your replacement still working good?
tnerbeelrenniks yes it's still working with no issues at all....
