Monza has always meant speed to me, from the times when I was young, playing with our Aurora Thunderjet slot car set with the "Monza banked curves". Every setup that my brothers and I built had to have the banked curves. The first time I saw the movie Grand Prix on TV in the 1970's etched into my memory the look of driving on the banks. The kid in me still wants to experience the whole lap of Old Monza.
Ahhhh - the Aurora/Tyco days! The Aurora cars had the metal strips as pickups, while Tyco went with mesh brushes - which we constantly fucked with, certain it made a performance difference, lol. Good times!
In the long configuration (including the oval), the main straight consisted of 2 parallel straights (not separated by a wall). The car on the left is half a lap behind (or ahead of) the cars turning right into the banked curve...

Thank you so much for curating and creating this excellent piece of motorsport history. As a fan of the history of Motorsports I've watched as much as I can and I even saw footage that you found that I'd never seen before so thank you!
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers from Portugal!
Amazing and thank you. My 15 year old son got into racing earlier this year. I am a long time SCCA member who used to race along with officiate. We both sim race now. Thanks for putting this up. History is an integral part of our sport.
That is great stuff! Thanks and Cheers from Portugal!
