  • Another dive into drones. This time I needed to replace the gimbal control cable inside the camera on a Mavic Pro. This resolves a problem with the gimbal being unable to track / stabilise correctly.

    I'm one of those people who can't help take things apart to see how they're put together/work. At least with my drone I don't have to now! Thanks Graham!

    Hi, it seems that you forget to connect GPS cable that is located at very back side of the top cover. Very easy to overlook and to break while openning. It needs to be detached and attached with the long straight tweezers. So, unscrew only rear 4 screws from top cover and lift it up for about 1cm and you'll see cable with white inline connector. Hope that helps...

    This looks a lot like the flexcables fitted in Canon DSLR objectives for the aperture. Moving parts connected with flexcables in steep angles makes for breakage. Awsome to watch you work as always and follow you along as you explain what your are doing is a real blast. Top notch!

    Hope you added silicone glue back on the connectors, they were placed to prevent them from unintended disconnections from vibration during flight.

    I like your (From BANGLADESH) video's your computer troubleshooting or any kind of tech work is very precise & you take enough time to diagnose problem's from it's root then obviously good solution comes up. keep up the good work !

    Glad I never had to do a flex in my mavic, but a serious crash resulted in a motor arm needing replacment! that top cover is a pain to get off :)

    you didnt replace the belt and braces of selastic or equivalent ? to save you stripping it down again if a connector comes out when it falls from grace.

    I no longer have 20/20 vision after three rounds with the eye surgeon and the background on your desk makes your videos difficult to watch, this one especially as the background colours are similar to the drone. Nice work as usual!

    Hope one day they make a more simple to fix design for a breakable part.

    I think you should hot glued that new flex cable with connectors,it will come off anytime as drones do lots of vibration.

    • @Adamant_IT
      @Adamant_IT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I considered it, but the funny thing is that the flexes that connect the camera assembly to the mobo aren't secured, and they'll be taking all the vibration. Yet the flexes inside the camera that _were_ secured are on the gimbal that is all anti-vibration mounted.

    without glue on cables the connector get loose in while after couple flights. Customer will come back to you. As you should put at least hot glue to seal it some what was from factory

    Does anyone know of a brand of silastic that can be used replace the one taken off this?
    They're usually acid free, and a bit gummier than hotglue.
