Anime cut it out but she got the phrase “Dig in” from ariel, in the light novel it was “Eat me up then”. The same way Eris got her “i want to have your kittens” from her mother. Women of Nobility and royalty are taught how to seduce men/their future partners from a young age which makes sense in this world
Not only are they trained from early age, Eris was essentially betrothed to Rudeus from his tenth birthday on. Philip and Paul had corresponded and already agreed to it. Her being his tenth birthday present would've only sealed the deal.

The blood was necessary because it wasn't put there for US to see, it was put there for RUDY to see to confirm that Sylphie and him actually did the deed. He has that huge fear that he screws everything up after he does it with someone so the blood on the bed plays into it naturally. I'm surprised out of everything you've seen on the show, THAT was what weirded you guys out for a bit.
Plus! the same thing happened with Eris in the morning and she was gone. He was reliving that trauma until Sylphie came back.
Apparently more was in the LN with what Rudy did with that blood spot... like a part of his shrine. That was the weird part that anime cut out. lol Or idk maybe show it later.

I totally understand your point about the blood, but i kind of like the transparency and reality of the situation rather than the censorship because its not something we typically see in anime. This season did such a good job of building the Fitz/Rudy relationship so that they spent a year together rather than a spontaneous proposal, over time Rudy felt real feeling's for a "man" lol. I loved this part of the season, it was less action heavy but it really grew the characters.

In the ln rudy cut that piece of cloth from the bed sheet made a small box and put it into that then put it in the roxy shrine and he also prays to both roxy and slyphie.

The reason why they showed the blood was because it was to confirm that they actually did it and Rudy thinking why sylphy left but she came back ❤
The main thing that caused this issue with Eris was the note she left him. I think the note said "we're not a good match right now" or something similar. She meant is as she doesn't feel good enough for him, but he took it as he wasn't good enough for her. And then what happened with Sara earlier this season kinda made him double down on that thought. So Sylphie staying and then even helping him through it made all the difference.

He should really have thought "Hmm, right now? Meaning that, we will be a good match someday?" and then he should have remembered how powerless the group was against Orsted and realised that she went to train... but Rudeus had/has really bad self esteem and took it the worst possible way

The blood was there to signify that Rudeus went ham on Sylphy and was too aggressive even though it was her first time, which made him think that she would leave him for that just like Eris did.
If i remember correctly the blood thing was after he slept with Eris too. So my guess is they wanted to show it again to trigger Rudies PTSD.
I feel like the blood was particularly important because it was another thing that played into his doubts. “I made her bleed?? It must of been painful and I must have been bad in bed. Even worse than last time. And last time she left…” It basically adds on to his performance anxiety. I feel like the blood was not about putting it in your face again that Sylphie was a virgin, but another signal for Rudy to doubt himself. “She must have left because I was so bad I made her bleed.”

"As impressed as I was, though, I also found myself struggling to hold back a wave of fear and anxiety. I'd acted like a madman last night, yes. But I did remember everything I'd done. To be honest, I'd been really rough with Sylphie. She'd tried very hard to keep up with me, but she'd obviously been in some pain. It was her first time after all.
She never complained or even asked me to slow down, though. It was obvious she was pushing herself, but she just kept saying 'I'm fine, I love you,' and 'it feels good' on a running loop. I hadn't paid any attention to her body language. I hadn't spared a thought for how she was feeling. The way she'd whispered in my ear just got me more excited. I hadn't taken it easy on her at *all* .
This was only the second time in my long life that I'd slept with someone. I wasn't at all confident I'd done a good job. In fact, I was convinced I'd behaved even worse than I did on my first time. Even worse than I'd behaved on *that* night."
The fact you'd gleaned a message from the scene that matches what Rudeus was thinking in his introspection proves my suspicion that the studio made a deliberate choice in deviating from the text. In the text Sylphy was next to him when he woke up and looked to his side after his introspection, a movement he was deathly afraid of executing. He could scarcely believe she was there when he actually did turn his head. He couldn't believe it before he touched her. The rest of the interaction was largely as it was on screen.
In the text the blood was simply that she was a virgin who had a very rough first time, and he takes that bit of the sheets as his second relic.
I've also seen people associate the blood with Eris' strands of hair being left behind and how this association with an empty bed with a bit of red would trigger Rudeus' traumas.
The second half of the first cour of this season (slice of life n romance stuff, aside from Nanahoshi) was worth it, all the build up for this episode. Cour 2 in April shall be even better. And season 3 will be even more insane when it drops in like 2025-2026

In the novels and manga Sylphy was beside him when he woke up. He had a moment of dread when he woke up, thinking he was even worse than last time with his behavior and would've scared Sylphy away, despite her whispers of reassurance and love. And when he did look to his side, he scarcely could believe what he saw until he touched her face and ran his fingers through her hair. And then he groped her to see how he'd react. Then he simply said that he's cured and pulled her in for a hug, crying out of sheer relief and gratitude, only being able to blurt out thank yous to the woman who has saved him.
Having Sylphy run an errand before coming back serves to mirror Rudeus waking up from his time with Eris and having that moment of dread stretched out and made apparent to the audience, making the moment of relief all the sweeter and moving.
I prefer sticking to the text as much as possible, but I understand why the studio chose to do it like this.
I kind of figured it would go the harem route (isekai never fails lol) especially with the opening using the different colored feathers as symbolism for Roxy, Eris, and Sylphie.
This is the one of the og isekai. Any tropes you see in other isekais was stolen from this one
The difference is that MT is 10 times better than all the others, because they just mindlessly copypasted its ideas at surface level, but never really put any effort into building up a proper world or (deeper!) characters around it.@@MunkeyyCANA

I mean 98% of isekais never even have the MC smashing anyone. It's just super dweebish MCs that don't realize the girls like him despite them doing blatant things to show otherwise and said MC never actually 'gets' with any of them.
Bulls's eye! MT actually subverts SOOOO many of the typical isekai tropes. The "critics" claiming that MT is "just another fanservice garbage isekai" is testament of them either not watching the show or them not knowing anything about the isekai genre in general.
Rudeus turns out such a different character than any other isekai-MC over the curse of his story, it puts all the others to shame!@@boobooweewaa
"Rudeus is very strong"
In the web novel, during the rainy season in the Doldia village, Rudeus took part in taking down monsters that would try to climb the trees. During a lull he tried flying (the training payed off when saving Aisha), but failed to direct himself or land properly on his first try. He fell into a monster den just above the floodwaters and did an ice AOE spell to keep the monsters at bay. He froze a several mile radius around himself and all monsters within it died.
During Rudeus' fight with Orsted, he was actually able to injure the Dragon God with Stone Cannon. In the same fight the fireball he launched at Orsted was a literal orb of fusion plasma.
Rudeus' strength comes from his massive mana pool and ability to creatively use the spells he knows as well as pump more mana into them than a regular casting would.
Magic can do wonders in the setting. The human hero Millis carved a straight line with his sword a long time before, and it is now the Holy Sword Highway between the country of Millis and the Beastfolk territory. The Ringus Sea is a crater formed from the titanic duel between two powerful entities.
If you want to see a true extent of his power, wait until part 2 of season 3. It gets nuclear.
The anime cut out Eris’ pov. She thought that Rudy would understand her note (she sucks at communicating things like feelings) that she is leaving simply so she can get stronger and be a better match for him when she returns. She doesn’t wanna be so reliant on him she feels like she just drags him down. She felt his hands while they had sex and realized they’re smaller then hers, and yet she’s always the one being protected. She wants to be able to protect Rudy after what happens with orsted. Eris thinks rudy is waiting for her so that they can start a family lol so i can only imagine what’ll happen when she ends up coming back

Technically this was communicated in the anime (minus the "Rudy's so smart he'll just understand it somehow" part.) She even said verbatim "his hands were smaller than mine" while flashing back to the scene. There was also the saddened expression she had when Rudy was practicing disturb magic and she asked why (so he could protect her and at least run away with her).
Season 1 especially relied a LOT on facial expressions to convey emotions and wanted you to use context clues to figure out why they feel that way, as a way of adapting the mountains of internal monologues from the novel. There's still a TON of cut content, but I think there's enough in the anime for people to figure out how characters are thinking without being explicitly told.
@@Baniished You’re an idiot. I didn’t give any of Eris pov or spoilers from her chapters post-season 1. I’m simply giving her Pov from season 1, which is quite literally already cut out. The scene where we learn all this from her POV is right after she has sex with Rudy, before we swap over to Rudy’s pov the next morning. She was saying all this in her head as she was packing and writing the letter to Rudy, they aren’t going back to this stuff.

This episode also confirms for the first time in the anime that Sylphies parents died. They died during the teleportation accident which we were supposed to learn with Rudy in season 1 when he was reading that board when he got back home with Eris, but they cut it out for some reason. It’s part of why she was so angry at Nanahoshi when she said she possibly caused the mass teleportation

This episode was a masterpiece. Man, it's gonna suck not having Mushoku Tensei every Sunday. I love this show so much.
Rudy went from a perverted gremlin to a respectable man that actually fell in love, like actual pure love, not just lust. And Sylphie became reliable and strong, enough to keep advising and supporting Rudy throughout the entire arc. They're perfect together.
I love this cour and I cannot wait for cour 2.

I honestly feel like my boy Rudy will stick to one girl and stay with Sylphie, but you guys honesty kinda made me doubt that 😂. I really don’t think Rudy and Roxy would work tho, Rudy more like admires Roxy and is forever grateful to her (in my eyes) and not like romantic feelings for her. I also agree with you guys that this episode was absolutely amazing and the best way to end it I was actually left smiling at the end. Can’t wait for part 2 see u guys there!

Sylphy was partly raised by Rudeus' family as she was his friend and acquainted with the household. She's pretty much come to terms that Rudeus is Paul's son and might bring a woman with him at a future point.
Spoilers:
As to whether or not Roxy and Rudeus would work, she essentially started it as fait accompli, because of *certain circumstances* and later misinformation from Elinalise to Rudeus. Sylphy's the one to make it stick, ultimately. Roxy opened the world to Rudeus, Sylphy healed him from his heartbreak, and Roxy saved his life afterwards. On some level Sylphy understands that and is grateful to Roxy for bringing her husband back alive.

and in the end, everything worked out fine!

And with Linia. And Pursena. Possibly with Elinalise. He wouldn't have had to fix parts of his personality if Eris had stayed with him. Because she likely would've gone to the Sword Sanctum anyway after Elinalise brought the news and Rudeus would've gone to the university. Both would correspond, of course, but Rudeus would be a horndog without access to his girl.
Losing Eris broke him, but the healing ultimately made him a better person.
I understand your concern about the blood, but I think it will be an important image for the future of the series.

Sylphie did bring up the possibility of Rudeus having multiple wives a couple episodes ago when she was strolling the city with Luke and Ariel, since she knows Paul (who kinda made Lillia his second wife) and Luke (who obviously has multiple girlfriends) these two Greyrats.
Seriously speaking, since this story is about Rudy's whole life, Eris definitely will come back to find Rudy for the foreseeable future.
The dynamic of this "reunion" will be quite interesting if things don't go well.

He says that he would take responsibility in the novel. That Niece thing is not Cannon, it was added after 5 years the main story was written, in Mushoku Tensei Redundancy, which is like SoL of Rudeus family (guy got a big family). Author added it for his convenience, because again, it was never ever mentioned in Web Novel, Light Novel, but was in the anime though. But I still feel that the author shouldn't fill gaps in the story, like tomorrow, to sympathize a rapist, author can add that Rudy raped some woman sometime in his life, just like he recorded his niece, you understand what I am saying?

Yet we see something less indicating the deed was done and they still got weirded out. Like the whole 'blood on the sheets' thing has been a thing for thousands of years btw..
He remembers everything. In the novels and manga he recaps the events in his mind, realizes how terrible he was during the act, not sparing a single thought for Sylphy's comfort or staying power, despite her sweet whispers in his ear. He goes through this and the fears that result while staring at the ceiling before turning his head. He sees a sight he's certain is a hallucination: Sylphy looking back at him with her eyes full of love and longing for his presence. This notion is dispelled once he touches her hair and he confirms his condition by groping her. Then he proceeds to hug her with all his might and weep in her arms.
You can't work that kind of introspection into an anime and make it interesting. Him walking around alone and seeing the blood would drive the point that he thinks he scared her away by being too rough with her.
I feel like the blood was to confirm that it had happen since we just see her say the phrase and cuts to the morning. we already knew it was her first time. Since his memories could be hazy from the alchool and the drug that was the confirmation to him that it had happened.
His memories of the night were very clear. It's just that his recap of what happened and his introspection would've just been him staring at the ceiling before turning his head to find Sylphy next to him.
This way we can feel his anxiety in a more dynamic way on a visual medium. The blood on the sheets indicates he was rough with her. Too rough, so she's gone. And then she comes back, to his infinite relief.

The ridiculing was a deliberate move. She'd calculated that Sylphy would get upset and chide her for it, for which she'd apologize and move on to actually trying to solve it. Luke simply beat Sylphy to the punch. It was to make Sylphy stand up for her man. Instead we got Luke standing up for his cousin.

It was more about Rudy's "fear of being abandoned", which was the main cause of Rudy's ED.
He subconsciously linked in his mind that "if he did it with someone, he would be abandoned".
That apologizing scene at the beginning was also because of what Sara had done to him when he failed to get it up.

It's really an amazing show, maybe my favorite isekai ever, & I was initially disappointed that you guys wouldn't get to experience that, thanks for coming back to it & sharing it with us!
Rudeus has come such a long way, his character arc has been impressive. He's not just another OP MC, his troubles have been very grounded, human & realistic, as realistic as an isekai can be, anyway. It reminds me of the early Spider-Man comics, kind of, because what set him apart from other super-heroes of that time is that he actually had normal teenage problems, he wasn't just another fearless perfect hero.

About the multiple wives thing... Only the Millis Church promulgates monogamy. Of the important characters who've been introduced thus far, only Zenith, Norn and Cliff are adherents. It's part of the reason Zenith was so distraught over what Paul had done.
The last time Norn saw Rudeus (other than him beating on their father), she saw him with Eris by his side. Now Rudeus has Sylphy. So that'll be its own thing the next time they see each other.
Cliff is also in training to become a priest in the religion, so Elinalise is the only woman he'd ever pair with according to his creed.
and of course when Zenith learns of Rudeus having multiple wives, she slaps him across the face both times he announces that he has another wive lol

Well I'll give Mushoku Tensei that as far as never seeing an ED arc in an anime series before. This cour had some good moments, but looking forward to the plot kicking up more in the next cour.
