I love how they don't need a fusion dance, they just hug each other or grab arms. Shows they're already so in sync with one another

I just thought since 3 is an odd number and smoky is an odd fusion, they’d have an odd feature. Which is what smoky quartz is actually good for. Getting rid of fear and insecurities. It’s a stone of acceptance and grounding. 💎

The main reason why Smokey can get so down(emotion wise) sometimes is because Smokey has a combination of amethyst's and Steven's self-doubts.

Wow. Very short expo on the gem. Smoky quartz is said to bring grounding and centering to the wearer. “It gently neutralises negative vibrations and is detoxifying on all levels, prompting elimination of the digestive system and protecting against radiation and electromagnetic smog. Smokey Quartz disperses fear, lifts depression and negativity. It brings emotional calmness, relieving stress and anxiety.” Something both Steven and Amethyst seem to need. Sarcasm has a way of sometimes being self deprecating. This type of Quartz is also a Capricorn gem. (Probable inventors of sarcasm). Yayy.
And maybe the way they fused was why they have three arms. They gave each other “an extra hand”in support. Yes that sounded more sarcastic than I intended, but I stand by it.

Smoky Quartz is easily my favorite fusion, as well as my favorite character period. She is the embodiment of a more secure version of Amethyst and Steven and I love it!Amethyst and Steven are forevermore the different gems, and they are so insecure about it but Smoky is a version in which they embrace this difference head on and make something great out of it. She's so playful, quite an effective fighter but also out of the box due to her toy-like weapon and personality. I also love her theme!!! XD it's got the packman game vibes that fits so well with Amethyst and Steven!! Another thing I like about her is that she could easily be a tomboyish girl or an emotionally expressive boy by her look and demeanor!
Smokey quarts points that are clear on one side and “Smokey” on the other; are also known for driving out negativity and darkness from within you when you point the Smokey side outwards.

Honestly I have always looked as Amethyst and Steven as “siblings.” Amethyst being a direct product of Pink Diamonds’ kindergartens. Whereas Steven is directly half of his mom half human. Even half siblings?

i wouldnt count the super speed as a 'fusion power' since its actually just stevens diamond powers being accessed by the fusion hes a part of, and isnt being influenced by amethyst at all. like how smokey can summon amethysts whip and stevens shield separately, but neither would really count as /smokeys/ weapon
Random thought when watching this ; Is Steven technically a living fusion because to be honest by the name of the series he is oddly more powerful than any diamond. Or it could be that Steven is like a Saiyan where because he a half breed that someone gives him more potential to be stronger than a full breed ?
Steven and Amethyst fusing really looked like a wacky gimmick to me at first, but with time they really tickled my empathetic nerves... and made me smile 😊
can i just say as a nonbinary person, i'm super grateful you used they/them pronouns for Smokey Quartz? i feel like most people ignore the fact that those are their pronouns, or even just straight up ignore them being nonbinary full stop (even as they go "THE GEMS DON'T HAVE GENDERS" to shut down anyone who calls Ruby and Sapphire lesbians), so it's super nice to see a channel analyse and talk about their powers while using the correct pronouns, it makes me feel really validated. i also didn't think about the three-arm at the elbow thing in a way of characterizing their weirdness as gems - i also think it proves Steven and Amethyst are super in-sync? like, most fusions get both extra arms AND extra eyes to show that yeah, these gems aren't totally in sync, and Rainbow Quartz/Sunstone both have these. but the only thing out of sync with Amethyst and Steven as Smokey Quartz is that one arm. sorry i just wanted to get a few feelings out, but still, thank you for using they/them for Smokey!

Having 3 yo-yos makes sense because we see Steven summon multiple shields and frisbee them Captain America style, and we see Amethyst dual-wielding her whips. Also, when Pearl sends Steven into her gem to find her phone, you see she has over 2 dozen spears. Which leads me to believe that gems can summon as many of their weapon as desired, but only summon as many weapons as they have arms for obvious reasons. So Smoky Quartz having 3 arms, makes sense they wield 3 yo-yos.

The math with the yoyo does make scents because gems can produce more than one of their weapons as you see in Pearls pearl she has a lot of spears,so they can produce more yoyo just like Amethyst can make more whips and Steven can Make more Shields so it makes scents that Smoky Quartz can make more yoyo
