Hello, I’m Joe - I’m a guitar player, singer-songwriter, producer, recording engineer and teacher!
On this channel you’ll find my original songs, covers and solo fingerstyle guitar arrangements. My favorite music doesn’t fit neatly in a box so you may hear me play folk, blues, jazz, & classic rock - you can call it what you want; I feel honored to speak this timeless language of melody, harmony & rhythm.
I was born on May 25th 1991 in Kempsey, NSW, Australia. Since 2010 I have been based in the US and currently live in the Rocky Mountains of Montana with my wife, Genevieve (who teaches illustration on TH-cam!).
I play Maton acoustic guitars, made in Australia (just like me) and am very proud to have my own signature instrument, the JR Signature!

Wow, this is such a monster on his guitar, And ....he can sing and feel, with fabulous cadence and intonation, both in playing and singing. Well, I just have to practice some more after 50 years of guitarplaying.

Wow ! First heard Joe in Noosa[ qld ] walking past a restaurant in Hastings St I heard guitar playing that made stop and turn round to find out who was playing. Was I surprised to see it was 16 year old guy playing solo. His walking bass made me think it was more than one musician. So I later caught up with him at the Noosa yacht club after raving to several of my friends that they had to hear him.We were all there for the jazz festival about 2009 I think. Now all these years later I hear him 'singing' as well and I loved it - hope we hear more of his voice. This is a great rendition Joe !

I've been a huge fan of Joe since i first saw him on the AGT. Since then, 12 years later I still find it hard to fathom his talent. Completely underviewed, I tell all of my friends to check JR out because I wanna witness there faces blow off when they hear one of his riff's. One of my favourite musicians of all time. "Smokey" Joe Robinson is a perfect musician as a guitarist and singer. He can really play anything and is very entertaining. It may well be that some listeners believe that he is simply reenacting these covers. You're wrong, he plays these songs like he invented them himself. I love his elegant and artistic way of breathing new life into these classics.
