It's a shame they abandoned the assymetric headlights. The older models had so many edges and looked so mean. The new model looks more like a 2010s CBR .All that was needed for the new model was the new display
As measured by performance, it’s hard to deny this is one of the best sport-bikes ever produced. But, in formulating the metrics that constitute “best” where does the cost of ownership, reliability and dealership response fit? Those variables are harder to measure, but they’re often more important than the raw numbers of performance. Great video - thanks!
Going just by the documentary at the factory, you'd be very unlucky to get reliability issues with an S1krr, my mates has never had an issue that I know of. Cost of ownership is much higher with any litre bike I would imagine, and dealership response will vary I would imagine for any make of bike or car.
S1000RR M package owner here. Brake calipers were defective from the factory (and their finishing and casting resemble cheap stuff from aliexpress), carbon fiber wheels started cracking within 2000 KMs of use, oil cooler was replaced before it left the showroom. And forums are full of other issues as well. Fairings cracking, cold start issues, etc. bmw's strategy is to build up a marketing hype and once the customer bought it, stop giving a damn about him/her. Right now bmw is trying to convince me that a carbon fiber wheel that is cracking - as the cracks are getting bigger with use - is safe to use. That bike was built for racing teams who instantly throw away all the cheap trash from the bike anyway.
So would I!!! So much! I have a feeling tho for BMW to even consider a jump to MotoGP they’d want success in WSBKs first. They wouldn’t even consider it unless they consider winning very realistic.

2015-16 the best model they have ever made that’s for sure
Thank you!!!! 2020 uglyyyy
It's in my opinion the best looking, but from a performance point of view, the new one is the better.
Personal preference and all that, I much prefer the new look, hated the wonky eye, made it look like me 🤨
Halfdead Rider wonky eye is what made an s1000 an s1000r now it just looks like a gay Fireblade 😂😂😂
Alexander Sinco 90% of riders will never ever reach those limits so it dosent really matter. That’s including myself.

I think the S1000rr is still a pretty reliable supersport bike. Not a Fireblade, but fairly good

Yeah I love 2012-2014 year. Might have to get a 2018 one day. But my 2013 isn't going anywhere.
Missed out the best variation the HP4 Carbon
All brilliant models - I know the BMW guy should know his stuff, but he really knows his stuff!
The new model is so perfect
But ugly the older one was much nicer
Latest gen S1000RR is an engineering masterpiece, they skimped on the fairings and finish compared to the 2015 model I think
I love my 2010.
The best and most beautiful bike ever made.
Esqueceu de outras máquinas como DUCATI PANIGALE E a nova CBR FIREBLADE RR-R
