Harry, you would need to edit the video and add these extra bits in. I am only using it to make a simple video and i am not doing any editing. I actually work with Camtasia myself but you can use the editor in screen cast o matic. I am not sure if that is free though. You may need to pay for it. I think it is quite cheap compared to most tools.

Russell, is there a way to reposition the record strip? I used to be able to grab it on the left side of the record button and place it anywhere on my screen but it won't allow me to anymore and it’s in an inconvenient place as I can’t get to what I need on my screen. Thanks for the video!
Rhonda, is it not possible to move it around and position it where you want. I might be confusing it with other tools. What about using the keyboard short cuts. I can't remember if you have that option. It is normally F9 pause/unpause and F10 to record/stop

You can't have a clickable element on a simple video. That requires a layer and can only be done if the video is uploaded onto a specific server that can deal with layers. For example, TH-cam doesn't allow that at the moment. I don't know if you can add clickable links in SCOMatic but if you can, you would need to add the video onto a server that can deal with the layer..the clickable link is just a layer over the video. I hope that helps John.

Screencast-o-matic is a great screencast technology and the basic plan is completely free. I would definitely recommend this tool as it is very effective and easy to use. You can create videos of up to 15 minutes but unfortunately you can't edit it. For full video creation with editing I can recommend Camtasia but it isn't free. Russell, I noticed that you have a background of the earth as seen from space. I want to use the green screen feature to replace my office background with an image. A still image. I have seen the videos on selecting out the green screen, but how do I add a background image? Can you help with this?

You can record everything that you can open on your screen. Whatever is on your screen can be recorded. Yes, you can record snippets from video too but you would need to make sure that is legal.

Do I need both down ScreenRecorder and Video Editor separately on my computer for this purpose? 2) If so, after finishing my recording a lesson, how to edit it before I finally publish in my youtube channel? Do I need to use recording and editing programs independently from each other? Please teach as you are teaching to an 11 year old schoolboy. I really dont mind at all.

That is not normally the case. the quality is not amazing but not bad. Have you tried uploading the videos onto TH-cam and sharing them that way. Are you recording them at a good size. When you save them, what size are you choosing ? I think you have a few options 1280 by 720 is normally not too bad. If you don't use your webcam, so just screen share, it might work better too.
Hey, the new SC free seems to expiry every few days and i have to keep going to website to relaunch it on desktop. I used to have it as a program? and standalone but since changing computers, it now keeps expiring. Can i get the old SC free which worked everytime no expiry?

You can't do that with screen cast o matic as in the free tool you can make lots of mini videos and then add them together. I use the pause button to give me time to think but when you make a mistake, you have to start again or continue and then try and cut it out.

I am really confused. I am not sure why this happening. Are you using a keyboard that writes right to left ( say for Arabic writing) I can't think of another reason this is happening. Sorry I can't help any more.
In the first 50 seconds of the video you appear in screen (picture in picture talking head) perfectly cut out. Chromakeyed. I'm not seeing how to do that in Screencast-o-matic and I want to achieve exactly the same result. I can see you doing the picture in picture but not the green screen - Camtasia does it but their pricing is completely unaffordable for a teacher.
I think you would need to pay for the screencast o matic paid version..that gives you those options. I use Camtasia but always train my teachers to start with screen cast o matic. I think you can use the webcam in the free version but not sure how much control you have over it.

I think you can add the halo in the free version but not sure about the click sound.

How do you use a different web cam to the pre installed one on your laptop?
Yes, I tend to use Logitech and in my latest videos I am using Logitech Brio which I am very impressed with.

How do I delete an error i made when talking over the last slide of my powerpoint without having to delete the whole thing?
