I have the playbase but it can't play the Dolby Atmos system. Do You think that change it for the sonos beam gen 2 would be a right mover for the bedroom?
Great stuff Pete! Are you able to share when will the review for Sonos Ray be out? Am thinking of getting either Ray or Beam Gen 2 as a speaker for pc in a bedroom. So am very curious about Ray's performance and am really looking forward to your comment on Ray. Thanks!
Trust me the ray is completly enough for bedrooms i had the sonos beam in my living room and it was super strong the sound stage is unbelievable because the size is so small just my advice you will see
@@Laptopdog78 I doubt it’s faulty. It’s just that it’s not good enough for a theater like setup in my living room. And the Sun is at 5 out of 15 so fairly low and I like a little extra bass when I’m watching tv, watching movies, playing video games or listening to music
Great video thank you. I'm not actively I the market for another sound bar but I could use 2 in out middle living room it's a large communal type area (kitchen/ dining/ living room) all in one. I think a beam gen 2 would be the best option - pending your testing if the ray...... p.s. does the wife know there's going to be a new addition to the family soon?
The Sonos Ray has blockbuster sound. I'm reaching for my wallet right now. I'm sure that it sounds better than my Bose Soundbar 900, dual subs, and omnijewels.
Thanks for this, it was an excellent breakdown of the differences between the models. I've been trying to decide for a while if the ARC is worth the upgrade cost over my current Beam gen 2.
I have both ARC in my living room and Beam gen 2 in my bedroom both with subs and rears. It depends on your room size if your room is really big then the arc would be better. A small to medium size room the Beam 2 is sufficient. It also makes a huge difference if your adding subs and rears. The ARC on its own is a big difference over the Beam 2 but when you add rears and a sub the difference isn’t as noticeable. Also the Beam gen 2 has better center channel output in my opinion.

I thoroughly enjoy your in depth analysis. Keep up the good work! 👍

Go for a Beam gen 1! It has more bass than a Ray, and a wider sound for movies. More surround sound.
Arc was overkill in bedroom, now it’s perfect in my living room. Planning to get beam 2 for bedroom.

@@opulencehub thanks , was debating from playbar/beam 2. But playbar sounds muffled compared to beam2
wondering how does the ray perform compared to the older playbar and playbase which are selling at very cheap prices used now

How is the Ray using the 4 drivers/amps? Is it stereo or a 3.0 configuration?
Great work Peter! As always. Still waiting to hear abt the Sub mini confirmation from you :)
Man I’ve gotta get an Arc! The Beam is just not sufficient enough for a living room
Go and get an arc then!!!!!! The beam is great in many living rooms by the way.
@@Laptopdog78 it’s only ok. I have one. With rears and sub. Almost everything else over powers it. Rears are at 0 sub is at 5
@@KrAzY_K have you thought of a faulty beam?
@@KrAzY_K why is your sub at 5?……… have you done a trueplay sound setup.

I've bought the Beam 1 for more bass and a wider sound than the Ray.

after seeing the ARC has sealed speakers and the beam has passive radiators, i'm liking the ARC, better and double the amount of speakers!
@@4-Avenue why? That is a confused decision.
You out the playbar
