Thanks for the video. We lived in Elko for 25 years and I hiked the trails in Lamoille Canyon (and neighboring Soldier Creek Canyon) many many times over those years. I hit all the sports on the trail head map (except for Harrison Pass) many times. The Island Lake trail is the shortest, but it's a steep beast! Lamoille Lake is easier but still involves about a 2,000 foot increase in elevation from the parking lot to the lake. If you have no problem getting up to Lamoille Lake, I suggest you continue on and go over Liberty Pass and drop down into Liberty Lake. It's about 8 miles round trip (Liberty Lake and back) and the highest point of the trail is at about 11,500 ft (3500 meters). But once you get up there you pass into a designated wilderness area and it's all beautiful clean hiking and fresh fresh air.
Thanks for you comment I have never gone further than Lamoille lake but I usually gets there pretty easy carrying 40 pounds of camping gear. I will try to go to liberty lake, I have heard it’s an amazing place and beautiful nature. If in go, wait for the video! But it will have to be next summer probably…
Hello, we have a regional hospital between spring creek and Elko, if the local hospital is not able to assist the person usually gets transported by helicopter to Salt Lake City
Beautiful hike! I enjoyed all the views and it was great to see the beaver! 👌👍👍
Beautiful video. I’ve read that those forests are some of the cleanest in the country!
Every year is getting better, it is still recovering from the 2018 fires but it is an awesome place to visit!

Thanks for the info about the elevation gain. As much as I want to see Lamoille Lake, I don't think it would be a good idea. Oh well.

It is looking a bit better than a few years ago.
It is still recovering for the fires but is getting better as you said!
@@Arenitaproject Need to get back out to this magical place.
I'm most likely going to be moving here from Ohio in a few months. Excited!
Even better during winter!
I'm from Ohio and most likely doing the same, what do you think about it so far?
@@kamarikim Unfortunately, it didn't work out, and I'm still stuck on Ohio. 😂
Did you move there?
I [think] I'm doing a marathon this June that begins in that canyon.
Beautiful mountains, thank you for filming.
WHERE do people get transported in case
of a medical emergency or heart attack?
