How to check EGT Sensors

Test don’t guess! Vehicle came into us with an exhaust temp sensor fault, vehicle had been elsewhere and had the sensor changed.
Unfortunately the wrong sensor had been changed, this could have been easily avoided by testing the sensor in the first place.
Quick continuity test soon found the faulty sensor!
A scan tool will give you a fault code but it’s down to you to know how the system works and to test the components.
