@TheLegendaryWolfx one line even better: Zod: why do you say this to me? When you know I will kill you for it? In the original cadence and meter, not Richard Donner. Zod was honestly confused by Lex saying that? It defied all logic Zod understood.
totally agree!! i felt same with Justice League.. love Snyders version, but “not impressed” doesn’t hold up to him simultaneously showing up in traditional colors and saying “ya know i believe in truth, but i’m also a fan of justice*
I am inclined to agree with you. It’s both badass and still in character for superman. I also feel that the Lester version has a few advantages over the donner one like how he defeats Zod and his gang in the end as opposed to turning the clock back to the beginning.
@@shooterdownunder And doesn't he turn back the clock because Lois can't handle knowing who he really is? She was depress for one night, she'll get over it. I was shocked that Donner still put that sequence in there all those years later. I guess he had to since the footage was still available. BTW, Lester's solution of making the villains fall down a bottomless pit wasn't that great. haha
This clip played on the telly about a month before the film opened and luckily I managed to record it on VHS. I pretty much replayed that 30 second clip of video to tatters before the film opened.
'Superman, thank God... er, I mean get him!' 🤣
Come to me son of Jor-El! Kneel before Zod! 😠👇
@@gavintheg.o.a.t2001My favorite line😂

I love Donner but this line is a million times better then his freedom of the press line.

And if got to see it on the big screen with sold out crown you got to hear the entire audience go nuts.

@@AT-sd9qq there was a deleted sequence where they all survived and then end up in jail.
Says a lot when Lex Luthor is grateful for the arrival of Superman 🙏💪❤️😂😂
Reeve’s Superman at peak badass. Yet he’s even being respectful by addressing Zod by his proper title…
You KNOW $#!+’s about to get real when Superman tells you to step outside…
"Superman. Thank God." 🤣🤣

You did well to have a video recorder in 1980, they were quite scarce in the UK at that time?
"General!, would you care to step outside?"
What Superman really ment: Zod, your a** is grass and I'm gonna mow it!"
0:25 General Zod be like.... 😲😲😲😲
The interaction with Lex is priceless. Hackman and Stamp both did amazing work on this movie.
No one can say the line "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD" like Terrance Stamp could, the actor that played Zod in the show "Krypton" came pretty damn close.
Love it.
He's big on the kneeling thing.
Holy cow I remember this clip from the TV commercial when the movie came out. I was 9 back then.
This video cuts out right before the big dude does a super awkward jump through the window
Richard Donner version
General haven't you heard of freedom of the press.
Step outside is soooo much better
"Superman, thank God."
" Zod."
Lex Luthor was a heartbeat from getting some whoop@$$, when Superman shows up.
Get him!😂❤❤❤❤
Great moment. This line was taken out of another version that I saw but it should always stay in.
The best Superman ever.
William Davis son of Calvin davis
rjr Reynolds tobacco smoker
3 consecutive window leaps
I prefer "haven't you heard of freedom of the press" Classic line
Garbage video about a garbage movie.
Christopher Reeve will be the only one Superman in the world nobody I mean nobody will take his place he was the best #1❤
Estoy muy de acuerdo con tu comentario y sabes por qué? Por que CHRISTOPHER REEVE, era y será por siempre realmente SUPERMAN!!!... ;)
What about a real one?
