Thanks for the video is very helpful. I also wanted to ask you my car got the dpf removed and the mechanic told me that was ok to pass the NCT . But when i got there the car didn't pass due to the emissions i can also see grey smoke coming out of the exhaust. I wonder if the oil change and an additive will help to reduce the emissions or maybe is something else?
I’d recommend doing it every 12 months if you are not doing a lot of mileage. Oil breaks down after time leaving it less effective. Thanks for the comment
Hey Mike, the engine in these cars is the K9K, the same engine as the Megane, Laguna 3 and Nissan Qashqai. I have the Laguna 09 reg and never had an issue, the Fluence in this video had the turbo replaced and as a result DPF blocked but once the turbo was replaced I cleaned the DPF and reset the values on the diagnostic machine and no problems since. I find them a great car and easy on fuel. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment
This is the first one I have came across with the turbo issue, zero issue with oil burning but I would recommend changing it every 10 - 15 thousand kilometres and you won’t have any issues, most of the issues I have came across with them is not maintained regularly by the owner.

I would never recommend a DPF delete, you could try an additive and drive it on the motorway and see would that help burn off the smoke
Hi, thx for videos. I drive 6,000 miles a year, how often should I change the oil?

@@quickfixmechanicsThank you for your super fast response. I will take your suggestions into consideration.
Very welcome, take care.
I'm having trouble finding manufacturer recommended oil and viscosity for my diesel fluence. Would semi-synthetic 10w40 castrol do?
Yes thats what I use on the car. thanks for the comment.
Hi there looking into these cars , any thoughts on these, things to look out for etc that is problematic ?. Thanks
