Therefore it is not the question of comparing these two cars but which car is more suitable for the customers. The performance in a luxury vehicle such as the EQS is not as important to the customers. For sure there will be a more powerful version AMG EQS coming soon with 761 hp as stated by Mercedes but the luxury of an S class is comparable to cars such as Bentley and not a cheaper EV such as Tesla made for a wide variety of customers who want an electronic car. I’m not a fan of the design interior or exterior tbh.. even my “nicely nice” cars half to look aggressive. Tesla model S in something like mat black can look aggressive. Also, in my experience touch screen hvac is slow to set. My old school 4Runner has a knob that you can twist so easily and quickly. Function over form for me in interior
It’s not a Tesla competitor because Daimler can’t make much money selling this. It’s just for the brand to prove how “luxurious” Mercedes can be doing EV’s. The market size of the price segment is also tiny compared to crossovers and trucks which Tesla will dominate. Most people will buy a Tesla purely for their supercharger alone. Also Merc is forced to pretty much reluctantly competing with their own S Class… much like how the lighting truck will cannibalize its ICE Ford F-150

EQC was too Expensive , too Little and too Late, According to Shareholders.
I don't know why, but I see the old Chrysler 300m had a baby with the Dodge Dart...
Mercedes Number 1 Tesla Killer
It’s not a Tesla competitor because Daimler can’t make much money selling this. It’s just for the brand to prove how “luxurious” Mercedes can be doing EV’s. The market size of the price segment is also tiny compared to crossovers and trucks which Tesla will dominate. Most people will buy a Tesla purely for their supercharger alone. Also Merc is forced to pretty much reluctantly competing with their own S Class… much like how the lighting truck will cannibalize its ICE Ford F-150
It only takes one look to know that this isn't a competitor to the model S
Wow! I'm anxious to see what AMG will be doing with the EQS S Class Salon!
🤔
Thank you for saying that this is NOT an S class electirc. It clearly isn't in the same class of the S. They should have called it the EQE (E class) or EQC (C class).
WTF the interior space is probably better more practical than an S class. C is absurd, E is too small it's S Class Plus.
@@Neojhun I said nothing of the interior. Even though it still is not on the same level of the S class in material and size. The Dash is the only thing that I can see that is making all the hype of this EQS. If only the gas S class did this rather than what they did with 2 iPads. Even if they did a Maybach version of the EQS, it still not as grand as a regular S.
@@doso4486 That makes no sense, the interior furnishings is basically parts binned shared with new S Class. There is barely any difference in how grand the interior is.
I am positively surprised. Looks really nice. When it will be in the same price range as the S-Class it will sell like hotcakes. Great Video! ... just missing some Kumo shots in it.
Kumo made an appearance today . . . th-cam.com/video/AxGHNAfs8LE/w-d-xo.html
You’re just going to stand in front of the Bentley and not take us on a tour of it?
No . . . I stood in front of a Lagonda and didn't take you on a tour of it:)
@@MotoManTV never seen you fawn less over a V12... it’s even British with an Italian sounding name. Isn’t this the proverbial intersection of most of your automotive masochistic interests? It would be awesome if one day you were able to take us on a tour of it.
Would love to do a full RETRO DRIVE REVIEW on her, but sadly, the economics just don't work.
7:14 - This is another case of using AI in some form to be "helpful" by providing things for you to a set pattern determined by an algorithm. The missing bit of foresight here is when will these "regular occurrences" be because the human decided them and when were they a result of being fed the suggestions by an algorithm?
Current social media, TH-cam and similar platforms have shown that this leads users down unexpected and sometimes dark paths when it comes to consuming social media. One can only guess what strange side effect this will have on drivers and their habits.
There is a serious lack of clear vision explaining what this tech is trying to achieve, seems like it's just there because it's the latest buzzword to throw into a brochure.
Until Apple complies to license it Multi Touch Patent to car manufacturers , none of our wishes will come true. Multi finger touch gestures is what we need.
That front end is attrocious lol. Idk who okayed it, but they obviously shouldn't have smh
Beautiful
2045 Mercedes 😂😂
This is 10 inches longer than a Lucid Air or Model S; why they keep comparing it to smaller cars?? The Model S starts at $70K. This thing will start at $150K...(the gas S-Class starts at $95K). This is WAY above any Tesla; more Taycan/E-Tron competition (but larger than those too). This essentially has no competition. However the melted jellybean looks are flat out gross----the Audi E-Tron GT slays this in terms of looks.
I've just bought my weekly lottery ticket, so when I win - this is the car I'm gonna get...Edition One and all. How much $$$£££? Who cares! What a magnificent machine...and a nice video, too MM.
elegant design but too many buttons
The dashboard sucks.
this is highest trim level - you can opt for classic dashboard too
The inside looks amazing but the outside looks like a Honda. 2025 model will look different.
WOW Bye Tesla
maybe future "eqe" real competitor for model s. not this one.
You know I’m just going to say it after the last CEO of Mercedes left the older man Mercedes Benz has lost a bit of its elegance. This automobile should have been the EQ CLS because the design language is no where near S class with the proportions. I hear interior is nice I’ll give it that but I’ll say it again if Mercedes Benz would take this tech and just underpin the maybach vision 6 models and DONT TOUCH THE DESIGN AT ALL . Then they would be back on track. Something elegant timeless and with modern tech
That’s a sweet e-CLS!
Look, its a honda civic!
The Lucid Air is already considered the actual competitor to the Model S. This title isn't really accurate
There is no production Lucid Air. This also is at least one class above a Model S.
I normally agree with your design takes, but you must have smoked a fat one before reviewing the EQS. It looks bloated and awkward. NOTHING like the Vision EQS which was sleek and futuristic. This looks like a VW CC.
I don’t get this obsession with the idea of physical buttons being safer? How is physical start/stop engine button is safer? You are only going to use it when you are stopped anyway. Also it’s not like if a button is physical - your hand automatically know where it is, you still have to look at it to reach it. And you still have to look at a screen to see what temperature you’ve set when turning a physical knob
How can you say its a 'competitor' to Tesla model S when is is too slow?
