I'm an Irish fan who was there. It was indeed a rousing rendition. And it is a beautiful anthem. I reckon the volume increased when the Afrikaans part was sung - understandable, I suppose, since at least 90% of the crowd appeared to be Afrikaaners. BTW is that bit still "Die Stem"? Finally, to the presenter - I think that in most countries the crowd sings their anthem. In the US it's usually a professional singer. I assume the reason for that is that The Star Spangled Banner is quite difficult to sing because of its very high and very low notes.
Our national anthem is a prayer for Africa and it always brings chills when so many people are praying to God to save Africa and unite South Africa. :)
Proud to be South African and it is the most amazing National Anthem in the world. It is made by IsiXhosa,IsiZulu, Sotho, Afrikaans and English. I am glad you like it my brother. It means God bless Africa much love from 🇿🇦 keep it up bro 😂❤😢
So happy to be a South African. We love our country, no matter what challenges we face. We are the friendly nation. KB is a beautiful woman and a fabulous singer and actress. We love you KB! And we also love the little girl Lisa, who does the signing with the grace of a ballet dancer!
We are very very passionate and proud South Africans. Esp with Rugby we are totally fanatical in a good way. We have so many issues in our country and sports esp Rugby brings us closer together. - Durban, SA.
LOFTUS VERSFELD STADIUM AND A LOT OF SOUTH AFRICAN PRIDE. Imagine how intimidating that was for the team of Ireland. Your at war playing the Boks in South Africa.
Singing our national anthem has now become the fans contribution in motivating players before the start of game and something that every fan who bought a Springbok game ticket looks forward to. How could you not give your all as a player after such spirited singing of your national anthem? Soon Springbok games are going to be a global festivity where a single game will be a must for persons from all over the world, including our own expatriates in their millions. Salute!
That first guy with the head band is 🇿🇦 first black springbok, Siya kolisi. With him as captain 🇿🇦 won the world cup in 2019 & 2023. What an inspiration he is. He is loved by South Africans.
Our national anthem is a prayer, so it's natural for us to close our eyes, and pay attention. We're giving glory to The MOST HIGH. We've come so far are the country. So 🇿🇦🇿🇦💕💕
So amazing to see all south Africans united. I remember when the first part of the anthem was banned under the apartheid government. We used to sing it in secret. We have come a long way
Incorporation five of South Africa's eleven official languages - isiXhosa (first stanza, first two lines), isiZulu (first stanza, last two lines), seSotho (second stanza), Afrikaans (third stanza) and English (final stanza).
South Africa is just...different. It's hard to explain the unity of our country. We are like that big, extended family that keeps bickering about unhinged grandpappies and crazy aunties, lamenting who inherited or disinherited what from whom, and trying to figure out who the real favourite cousins or black sheep in the family are. But boy do we love getting together for a braai (bbq), sports and tunes. We won't let anyone diss our own - cos this place is home!
The banner: "Hulle weet nie wat ons weet nie" is Afrikaans for " They don't know what we know". And this is true. If you're not here in Mzansi, you are missing out. You must visit us, the most beautiful people you will ever meet in this country. In terms of everyone singing the anthem: from a young age we are taught that, when the anthem plays, you stand up and you sing as a sign of respect. So, that is what we do...
I watched the game at home, and when Keabetswe started singing it gave me goosebumps so I sang along at the top of my lungs. When the anthem ended, I was in tears. I love my team, I love my country and I love my people. Thank you for this video and for the love. God bless! 💚💛 🇿🇦

South African rugby crowds are passionate about their rugby and their anthem. Here's a version some time ago, Boks vs All Blacks test at Ellis Park, where the camera wasn't linked to the singer's mic - th-cam.com/video/3DdzTKkg3yg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=U6svHNXPnRxVsBgY
I was at the Ellis Park when there was a stampede in a soccer match between Chiefs and Pirates .And it was that moment when Putco Mafani (former PRO Chiefs) asked the crowd to sing the anthem I realised what it means to sing the Anthem.
No matter what our country is going through, we will ALWAYS be proudly South African 🇿🇦❤️🇿🇦
