- Ranking Nintendo's Amiibo functionality by how broken/powerful they are. Each game gives amiibos abilities that range from "cool an extra apple" to "why does this require an amiibo". Today we will be ranking the amiibo abilities on how Gamebreaking/powerful the ability is. Imagine you have access to every single amiibo and have no intergity.

A bit late for comment, but BOTW actually gives exclusive weapons and gear that are better than the ones found in the game. Like OP weapons with higher durability and damage or gear that have minor abilities lol. Problem is you'll need tons of amiibo and the chances of getting them are pretty low

You can also make a save a do a soft reset to use your amiibo until you get the item you want. It can sometimes take a while though because the drops rates are pretty low for the exclusive items
In my opinion I would of put it in A
Star Fox Zero isn't a simple skin for the fighter. The classic arwing can't lock on and plays the SNES music on Corneria, while the black arwing is a glass cannon, that takes double damage, but also deals more damage itself and can lock onto two targets at once.
So we aren't talking about how "Hey Pikmin" not only ranked lower than "oh God why," but he didn't even talk about the amiibo functionality
Shovel knight amiibo should be s tier. The solo campaign changes dramatically with it
Scanning in Zelda amiibos in Breath of the wild also gives you weapons based on which Zelda character amiibo you scanned. So if you broke all of your good weapons (which happens a lot), you basically have a zelda themed plastic armory waiting to be utilized. B tier. Also if wolf link is maxed out through Twilight princess then he becomes a TANK in breathe of the wild.
Love the video. Personally I would’ve put the Splatoon 2 amiibo slightly higher because you can save gear and weapon sets to them and then take them on the go with you. The usefulness depends on how much you play the game but I think it’s nice
Also you can take pics with them (special pics during splatfests) and in Splatoon 1 the Squid Sisters amiibo unlocked their song performances which was pretty cool
I feel that amiibo support was better during the Wii U era than the Switch era because amiibo were selling well unlike the Wii U system, so Nintendo had to include cool functions into the games of that era in order to compensate for the low sales of their hardware.
Something I wish could happen is a Nintendo game for every Amiibo. More like Disney Infinity but not something where you need every amiibo, just somewhere to play as your favorite amiibos. Maybe level them up like Smash Bros, have a open world, customizable home, and some type of online mode. Ofcourse this is practically a pipe dream especially to have every amiibo but it's fun to think about.
So basically something like Skylanders?

The Metroid Samus Returns also gives you the location of a metroid in the map, so if you have a hard time finding them it can be huge.
as for bayonetta 2, while also cosmetic, you gotta love being able to fly the airwing and samus’ ship.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival considering it has "amiibo" in the name and everyone hates it.
I’m actually sad I can’t find the disc I need it for my collection I have the box because it’s missing I really liked the visual loo, and sound of animal crossing that’s why I want every game

Coming from an actual figurine collector I can tell you : Amiibo is amazing. The figures are pretty detailed and relatively cheap considering they also act as DLC.
Breath of the Wild had the best Amiibo rewards with the classic items and outfits, I don’t understand how it can be placed on the C list.
Splatoon 1 deserves A tier at least!
3:00 you can play these games on the gamepad anytime while waiting for other players and you can pick them back up from where you stopped the next time you wait in the lobby. One of those even gives you a sound test.
Depending on how much you play, those are real game changers and I miss them dearly in Splatoon 2 and 3.
Botw let's you unlock most wolf link and epona plus almost all past link outfits as well as gear like the bow of twilight and sea breeze boomerang. The support is S tier.
You can save your gear combination to an amiibo so that if you can swap back if you ever experiment with other gear.
I think that the Magnamalo, Palamute, and Palico amiibo for Monster Hunter Rise are the most useful. They just give you items through a daily lottery but as you progress through the game's story the rewards get better.
I still wish we got a full on amiibo game that worked with all of them kind of like skylanders but better.

Twilight Princess Ganondorf amiibomalso makes you take double damage, so effectively a harder mode. That was pretty cool.
Breath of the Wild should be S tier easily. Best functionality there is. It gives you countless armor pieces, countless unique weapons from previous titles, rare items, a wolf, and the best horse in the game,.

Miitopia gets character outfits as well, though if you make the mistake of actually equipping them they're lousy armor. But you can also use them cosmetically over better armor so you just gotta be smart about it.
Btw bowsers Fury also makes speedruns much easier because you can get Bowser to attack you all the time… he goes away and you can just use the amiibo again and spam him infinitely and the speedruns need that
You forgot the kirby games
In kirby planet robobot you get a copy ability that is related with the amiibo you scanned and in kirby star allies you get puzzle pieces, healing items and some stars (if I remember correctly)

I have like over 100 now from getting them from the very very beginning (I just want it to end now pls 😭), and while they’re all practically useless, wolf link was the only one I absolutely LOVED. I played through nearly the entirety of botw with my maxed out wolf link and it was extremely fun. I even got one of those custom amiibo cards on eBay for like $5 of wolf link so I could scan him when I played out of the house lol
whoa whoa whoa hold it the starfox zero ships arent just cosmetic the classic Arwing functions the same as the one in the snes game and has a stronger charge beam and the red and black ship has rapidfire but takes more damage

I am a HUGE amiibo fan that is usually aware of every amiibo and every game that supports them. And this video is how I learned that Super Mario Party had amiibo support.
For me botw i would put in A or B tier due to u can scan any amiibo & can get cooking materials & so on

You forgot the fire emblem amiibo in fire emblem fates and echoes and three houses.
Code name steam as well, you got fully playable units of each fe amiibo and it was super cool.

The breath of the wild one isn’t true at all. Yes there is a chance you get basic items but you can get amiibo exclusive armor and weapons. That should be at least a tier

Anyone can help me out… I recently came across a meta knight amiibo from the “Kirby” series but it apparently works for my fighter amiibo in smash… is this possible with any games amiibo as long as it’s the correct character??

Incomplete. Like Little Nightmares 1 in Switch features the Pac-Man Amiibo. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 features Shulk Amiibo....
And i love the Amiibo feature in Star fox Zero. You also didn't mention that the first stagt features the classic music when playing with SNES Arwing.

In botw the other link appearances also give you the costumes in game which because of the shading or something makes you FEEL like your playing that version of Link, instead of it just being a neat costume. It sucks that the armor pieces have a low chance of spawning so you have to mess with the save files to get them in a reasonable time.
And if you have parental controls on your switch... it's going to be a bit harder
@@airtiger4577 sorry not save files, the system time in the settings, It was late when I wrote this. Does the parental controls stop you editing the system time too?
@@kingdanett4043 parental controls prevents you from changing the time on the switch. Save files actually have nothing to do with it. I think it's like this, so you don't try to reset the timer limit it has.

Breath of the wild one was wrong. There is A LOT more than just a couple crafting material for some amiibo
I think "Style Savvy: Fashion Forward" on the 3DS needs a mention. It has a very good usage in my opinion, with exclusive items based on the female characters, exclusive bonus missions associated to them and even fun interactions based on the characters themselves.

It's only limited to characters in the game and the novelty gets really old, really quick.
At least amiibos are multifunctional other wise I think people would have a reason to be angry why most of them have little to no use or is just a cosmetic lol

I genuinely hope amiibo don't appear on the next nintendo console.
In bowser's fury, the amiibo provide a feature that should've been unlocked through playing the game.
In Splatoon 2, amiibo were tied to gear presets that was thankfully made a standard feature in splatoon 3.
Skyward Sword HD has multiple problems with amiibo being one of them for a reason I'm sure you already know.
In the end, I play games to have fun but it's not fun knowing features are being locked from you and are actively making games worse just to sell toys.
I would love to see Bowser's Fury get an update that let's you wake bowser instantly by pressing the d-pad after getting 100 cat shines, but no, lock that feature behind a piece of plastic and actively make our games worse.
