I am still sad about baby Sammy and then this poor baby...I cried at the mention of him struggling and crawling to survive. His beautiful and confused eyes...just heartbreaking. He mustve been in so much pain! Thank you for taking care of him and giving him comfort in his last days. God bless everyone of you there at the VMF ❤️

Thank You All at the VERVET MONKEY FOUNDATION for this Really Interesting, and very well narrated video! It is Truly Unbelievable, and Really So Sad, that some people think that they have the Right to Take the LIFE of one of these animals! YES YOU ARE CORRECT IN YOUR TITLE, THIS IS "THE CURSE OF SOCIETY"❗

I like the general mood of this better than the other monkey videos, too much misery and violence. Also babies getting killed and beaten by mothers.

I didn't understand the title until the last few minutes (without spoiling it for others). What a damn shame. Just a damn shame- so angry and sad. The episode was excellent, though- it's amazing what goes into running the Foundation. My greatest dream is to volunteer one day (and bring my daughter to volunteer, too). Until then, I am learning so much from your episodes. You guys are incredible.

I agree with Dave, the bewidermint in his eyes, one moment he was probably with his mom ,& the next moment he was attacked. I hope his mom is okay, thank you for being there & bringing him comfort during the last moments of his young life. And those who are heartless to shoot innocent animals for no reason at all, Karma will meet up with them.

Our communities push wildlife to the fringes and the smart ones find a way to live a shadow existence with us .....at their peril. We have stuff that they mess with and our stuff is more important than them. It's such a beautiful world and there is room for all if we would just consider all life sacred including our own species. When we can't respect each other there is no hope for the rest of the inhabitants. Thanks Dave for saving what you can😕

How could anyone be so heartless to do something like that to any animal. I just don't understand it. RIP little one! 💔

This just breaks my heart. Words just cannot express how I feel other then sadness and anger
There needs to be LAWS against this, these are God's creatures and have absolutely no right to do this even if they are a nuisance.

Sadly, even if there were laws against it, there wouldn't be enough people around to enforce it.
I've never been to this part of the world, but I think there are many places these vile people can do this that no one would see or hear anything.
Even if they did, chances are they are of like mind.
      Sick.
Thank God you all are there to try help most back to health, to then find them moms.
Great work to all of you. Stay safe. The monkeys need you!

A few years ago I watched a documentary on mental health related issues and it was stated that it's believed that every 1 person in 100 is a sociopath. Not always violent but lacking the emotions of empathy, compassion and remorse. I believe that it is this type of person that harms animals and feels justified or even joyful that they do. It's believed that some learn to emulate those feelings but actually do not feel them. Life would be so much easier for the other 99 of us if the "1s" were born with a birthmark. A birthmark in the shape of a "1" in an easily seen location so that we would know to steer clear of them. I know that's a total "pipe dream" but sometimes it's fun to dream. Unfortunately I've experienced more than my share of the "1s". It's left to the 99 of 100 of us to pick up the pieces of the coldhearted actions of the "1s". It's particularly heartbreaking when those cold hearted actions are heaped on innocent animals such as what's happened to this baby.😥 I'm not a very religious person but it is my hope that all those "1s" rot in Hell.

Hey Dave. Is it unusual for a young one like " Rocks " to seem to be more interested in hanging out with
the males of the troop rather than the females? The boys seem to have taken him into their male society as well.

    • @mark.fergus
      @mark.fergus 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

"Rox"...It's quite rare, usually the males take no interest in babies at all and the babies themselves are quite intimidated of them and initially keep their distance. Jethro is most likely trying to improve his standing with the females by helping protect the babies, but due to Rox being so confident and comfortable with him, they've gotten even closer and formed quite a little bond together.

Google translator : Humans have not all learned yet that if God gave us animals, it is in order to protect them .... We could sometimes think that humans derive their origins from 2 completely different species as some are to the extreme of what others like us are. And we, so close to the animals, have been able to observe how each of them has a unique personality, which, in my opinion, can only mean one thing; it is that, like us, they have a soul and therefore they also have a place in Heaven. Something that we can not be so sure of cruel people who abuse, hurt, and kill and who derive joy from doing so ... I do not think that for them, there is room in this kingdom because when 'we have a bird in the house, we don't let a cat in ... And if we speak in a more rational way, I think that we really have to see ourselves as nothing at all, to act like a nothing at all. When our luggage is light, we cross the finish line long before those whose burden is far too heavy to carry, just like balls at their feet preventing them from moving forward. I tell myself that even these little souls like these little ones, so innocent and fragile, will arrive safely long before them ... and that the doors will close definitively before they cross the threshold. To attack beings weaker than yourself in this way, you really have to be cowardly and believe me, no one likes to be cowardly. They try to demonstrate their strength to each other, but all they do is, on the contrary, to demonstrate their weakness. Peace to the innocent people who leave this world with their souls intact and still pure like those of animals and young children because their soul does not have to make a detour before arriving at the promised life, full of Love and of comfort. I say, as I feel. And thank you to you who give them a chance to live their vervet monkey life because we all know that if you weren't there none of these little ones could have survived.

I have a serious question regarding staff. Namely Kyle and now that I think of it Tori... It does seem like they are both no longer around and both seem to have left rather abruptly. Now I could be wrong Tori could still be around however for a girl that loves vervets so much I figure I would of seen her in your videos by now. I have a feeling something happened at the VMF regarding Tori and Kyle. I know recently Tori was promoted to animal manager but now you seem to have a new one, something stinks!.. hmmmmm this is good stuff that would like you to elaborate on. Could you please?
