    It was so nice to see more of the daily caretaker routines and even more wonderful to simply see the monkeys living their lives. I know that is the underlying goal of VMF and it is lovely to see you succeeding.

    It's two years since you posted this episode, and I didn't realize at the time how extraordinary it was that Rox approached Jethro, and how Jethro hung around and watched over Rox. And, of course, later footage showed us the amazing scene of Jethro carrying Rox on his belly!

    Thank you for another great episode! It was fun and informative! Rox is such a brave little kid, his adventures in the troop are so funny😂! Little fluffy Leelo and Cuddy are the cutest friends🥰 The episode can never be long enough🤪😂

    That’s my Roxy, full of confidence and piss & vinegar 🥰. After spending so much time with him, I wish I could have been there to see him join a troop, a terrific ending to such a horrible beginning for him. So proud of you little man 😍❤️😍.

    You have so much work to do every day - and when new orphans arrive , which needs extra care, you have more to do - hope you have time to relax some hours or some days...

    I really like the less edited videos. I like how you show much more of your operation and the mechanics of how it all meshes and comes together showcasing your beautiful work with these amazing monkeys. Keep up the great work and a big thank you!

    6:35 Everybody's Grandpa. LOLOL. I just can't get enough of your videos- I love how you show the day-to-day "nitty gritty" of all the hard work that goes into running the Foundation. I hope you all are doing well and being able to recruit more volunteers during this difficult time. Sending you much love from the States...

      Unfortunately we won't be able to recruit more volunteers until international travel restrictions are lifted, which could be early next year. We're down to our core staff and local team for now. Lockdown can't end quick enough! Thanks for your support, really means a lot :)

    Would like to see more of the new babies and their early days of being at the foundation. The stories of how they were abandoned and orphaned, along with their progress.

    • @mark.fergus
      @mark.fergus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Vervets give birth during the springtime, around the end of each year, which means we're thankfully now getting some rest from newborn baby rescues. The wild babies are now at the age where they can look after themselves a bit more and hence we don't receive as many rescues this time of year. Our work now focuses on the rehabilitation of our rescued babies here at the sanctuary and getting them with foster-mums and into troops. Of course, we still rescue injured monkeys all year round, but won't have newborns until baby season begins again around October. If you go back to earlier episodes you will find Rox and others in baby care before they progressed to the troops, and stay tuned for updates on little Gimli, who will soon be ready to meet foster-mums :)

    As always a joy to watch your videos. I'm a bit envy hearing you have 32 degrees Celsius at the moment. We've a cold front giving us one to two minus degrees during the nights and about 10 during the days.

      we have the same weather here. I'm in Nova Scotia on the east coast of Canada. We had snow yesterday. It should be about 20 Celsius during the day now.

      32 degrees is quite nice! We're enjoying these "cooler" temps now as we enter the winter, as in the summer it regularly hits 40!

    I still do not see where I can join a VMF membership. I have an iPad & previously I was told there were issues with iOS & joining VMF. Then this week I saw the “Join” option on the lion whisperer’s video. So that means there must be a way for the VMF to find a way for iOS. Please keep working on finding a solution so iOS folks can join.

      Vervet Monkey Foundation No luck. There is no “Join” option on VMF on my iPad. The browsers I have are safari & google. I can see a “Join” option on the Lion Whisperer’s channel but not on VMF. What is the Lion Whisperer’s channel doing that allows the Join option to be readily visible? Please don’t give up.

    Thank you for answering this question for me. What is the difference between bandits and Vervet monkeys.

    • @rosestewart1606
      @rosestewart1606 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      they're all Vervet monkeys. The bandits are a wild troupe that lives around the conservation area. They aren't kept in an enclosure and they aren't fed except for what they're able to steal.

    • @mark.fergus
      @mark.fergus 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rose got it spot on! "The bandits" is simply a nickname we've given to the wild monkeys who are resident around the sanctuary.

    I love all your videos, but I've got to say that I'm not much of a fan of this "fast-forward" style of recording! I was feeling a little dizzy and slightly ill after a time! 😵 I would rather you video at regular speed so then we can see more background! 😊

      thanks it can be difficult sometimes as if i edit it to much to fit we loose a lot of what is going on so i normally only try do it when its a long piece not really showing much of the monkeys but more the task at hand, this milk run was a bit tricky as its a bit long, i will be uploading the uncut version of the milk run in normal motion for alpha members later today
