- So today is my first ever time in Nepal! I'm so excited to be here, visiting Nepal has been on my wishlist for many years now. I flew from Delhi in India all the way to Kathmandu yesterday, so today is my first day exploring Kathmandu and the Thamel area. I start off by visiting the local park, and then explore the heart of Kathmandu and try my first ever Mo Mos! I absolutely love Nepal and the food here.

one friendly suggestion please speak in English rather than hindi to locals they prefer english than hindi almost everyone understand english so you might not want to use hindi in some neighbourhood they might get offend lol
Thanks very much for the information!! Haha it’s good to know this for future reference 😂 old habits from India!
@@dunneytravels yea just bcoz we understand hindi doesn’t mean we prefer to speak hindi. Even if someone speaks hindi to me I always reply in English. The main reason is bcoz due to many political reasons most of the Nepalese honestly do not like to be linked with Indian and their culture at all. So, yea in the future despite a lil similarities better try to always separate us from our neighbouring countries. 😊

@@dunneytravelsDo you know some states in southern state of India they don't like people speaking Hindi to them they also prefer English over Hindi . They feel mainland Indian Hindi speaking will replace out their original mother tongue language like it happened in Kathmandu people of newar community their language is almost going to be extinct replaced with Nepali. India and Nepal is so diverse we have multiple language speaking people after every street especially in Kathmandu where people from all of Nepal are gathered but me I don't have any issue with you speaking any language of the Indian subcontinent including Hindi and I am from Nepal

You said Nepal right 👍🏼
Hope to see you soon in bhaktapur also 😊😊
As a souvenir you can buy nepali brand shoes like Gold Star , Caliber good quality.
12-15 GBP ain't much for a more than decent pair of shoes IMO.
Bang on buck and durable.
Try Gold Star, a native Nepalese brand. I bought a hiking pair of shoes, and surprisingly, it is still surviving despite of all the abuses it's gotten after 6 years.
Thanka for video
🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😊😊😊

Visit kathmandu durbar square for good momos. Narayan dai ko famous momo is one famous momo there. At the Jamal area, delicious momo is another famous momo.if you visit patan area, at patan dhoka there are 2 of the famous momo shops.
Thanks very much for the recommendations 😊 I will visit them during my trip 🇳🇵🙌🏼

Welcome to nepal
Thankyou 😊🇳🇵🙌🏼
India loves Nepal. India has pledged grant amount of Rs 8.8 billion to Nepal for FY 2023-24 an increase of 29.41% than previous year.
That’s a very strong friendship 🙌🏼🇳🇵🇮🇳
That was a great video for day 1! You can say “Kati ho?” for how much in Nepali and “sanchai? Or Thik thaak?” For casual “you ok?”.
And the momo sauce in the bottles are called ‘Jhol’ which is more authentic way to eat momo with. We love to literally drown the momo in it. Add the chilli one on top as you wish. The thicker sauce are like dip which is never enough for us lol
You took the first main right turn as you left Thamel to get to Asan bazar but if you kept walking, you would reach the Narayanhiti Palace which was the palace of last monarch of Nepal who was sadly massacred along with his family. You can visit there inside in the museum but theres a lovely Himalayan Java coffee on the top floor of the shopping centre literally opposite that. You can see the whole palace area from there with the backdrop of lovely surrounding hills and mountains if you’re lucky with good weather. Better chances of seeing mountains surrounding Kathmandu in the morning after the rainfall the day before.
Dan, where is Beth? She is missing in this video. She cane with to u to Srilanka & India, the previous vlog in Agra. Enjoy ur vlogs. Have a safe & happy travels. Take care.
Hey there! She’s not in the nepal series but she will be back after and in all the new videos after Nepal 😊
You have to try steam buff momo you can ask to local which is the best place for momo especially in basantapur area and fry is good but the real taste for momo is steam with the sauce which you tried veg with try buff steam ones 😁😁😁
Thanks very much for letting me know - I will definitely give steam buff momos a go 😊
There are different kinds of Momo. You went to a place where they sell mostly Jhol Momo. What you have in the bottles was 'Jhol =Watery Sauce'. You eat those Momo by pouring a lot of white Sauce( sesame seeds) and little bit red sauce( chilly) as per your preference. Those Momo should be drowned in that sauce and you use spoon to eat them. What you do is crime for Momo lovers😂. Anyway nice content.
Ahhh, thanks very much for the information! That’s good to know.
Hahaha I have a lot to learn about the etiquette of eating momos that’s for sure 😂 thanks for watching!
@@dunneytravels momo is Nepali dish so don't call momos please their is dish name called momos😂😂😂
You speak Hindi as well
I enjoyed your video
You should visit to bhaktapur darbar square
I mostly recommend you .
You suppose to mix all sauce and take it with momo as a soup. it will be more tastey.
Ah, thanks for letting me know 😊 I will try that next time
Welcome to nepal ❤❤
Thankyou 🙌🏼🇳🇵😊 I have 4 weeks exploring and vlogging here
@@dunneytravels that's awesome 🤗

She’s not in the Nepal series but will be returning after 😊
if you go to other countries and if you dont know their language than use english rather than other country language there...
Kindly Please Speak either English Or Nepali. We understand hindi but nepalese people are able to understand english so please use Nepali or english.
I know a lot of people wouldn't care but some people will get offended if you talk to them in Hindi even if they don't show it
please either speak in English or Nepali :)
But why
Thamel 🤣🤣 Enjoy there.
Haha Thankyou! 😊🙌🏼🇳🇵
, Tihar festival but current Mayor of Kathmandu Balen open Rani Pokhari every morning for public.
I think you should speak English rather than hindi
Will do! 😊🇳🇵
People do not prefer hindi over here in kathmandu. By the way enjoy ur time in hustle and bustle of catmanduu😂
Thanks for letting me know! No more Hindi 😂
This is nepal not India 😂, please explore the nepali mountains
Haha I will be exploring the mountains very soon 😊🇳🇵
Kitna rupees? Did you just speak hindi?
Haha old Indian habits die hard
There is not much difference between Nepal and India both are fruits of one tree
Yep agreed 😊🇮🇳🇳🇵
Very nicely said. Love from Nepal 🇳🇵
Yes my Indian bro💓💓🇮🇳🇳🇵🇳🇵
why are you speaking hindi in nepal??? so weird... if you dont know nepalese speak english... everybody understands here... wth
Glad you liked the video 😊
@supershashik don't cry about it... It's really not a big deal🤣🤣
Then why are all the shop boards written in Hindi
thats devnagri and is written in nepali not hindi@@hydragaming4265
Most of the Nepalese below 50s will understand and speak English so you don't to speak Hindi or any LOL 😂
Highlights of this channel:
Foreigners vs locals ticket price comparison 😂
I would too, I find it interesting 😂
You should probably stick to English and not speak broken Hindi as most of the people can understand English.
