I think it's a muslim thing. Even among the malaysian Malays it's the same rule. You invite, you pay.
As a black man who has been blessed enough to travel the world. I am always drawn back to Arab countries to spend my holidays. The hospitality is insane. I’ve recently been traveling to parts of Asia like Indonesia which I must say is probably even nicer when it comes to hospitality. But ye one thing they all have in common is Islam.

Im from Ireland, visited Saudi Arabia 5 years ago and had an amazing time. As a Christian, it was humbling being welcomed in the most holy country of Islam and discussing (and debating) matters of faith. It was an experience that I will never forget and glad other people are visiting

Everyone’s experience is different but most people had an amazing time meeting different people with great hospitality, One guy even got offered a car to go to another city crazy! But most of the time it’s chill.

Im South African 🇿🇦 I used to live in Saudi from 2001 - 2008. This video randomly popped up on my feed and clicked immediately. This just made me miss Saudi and my friends over there. Their hospitality is endless. They make sure you okay and safe. Cost of living was extremely cheap when i was there. A can of coke was 1 riyal. A litre of petrol was 45 Halala. I remember all the food that is in this video. Heavy nostalgic vibes.
A can of picola has become two riyals haha. There has been a change in prices, a very, very strong change in taxes for 15, but it will be adjusted after a few years because of the 2030 novel.

I am in in Riyadh now. I can confirm that the people are the best. As an example, everytime I get an Uber and the driver speaks English, they always give me their number and tell me If I need anything or have any questions that I should call them.

I have lived for decades in Arabia (not Saudi but UAE), usually locals are super nice and respectful, but this guy with hat on is a special one. Even when ordering food he was careful to order enough and willing to order more after that but was worried about the waste! so much to learn from this humble man

I was in mecca and i couldnt remember the way back to my hotel, i tried to walk it but just couldnt remember the way, suddenly i saw a taxi and said the hotel name to him, but he didnt get the right way because he didnt understand english so much, so it was hard to tell him which hotel and where it it close too etc, it took us a half hour or more to find it and i was so worried about the bill because i didnt have that much riyaal with me i hoped it was enough for five minute drive, but almost an hour the taxi guy said "we here, 300 riyaal'" i didnt have that much, so i asked him to bear with me fisibililah for the sake of Allah just let me pay what i got, and he got so annoyed and mad, SUDDENLY a guy saw we was disuccsing about the bill, and he came and paid for it, and walked me in the hotel to know i was getting there safe, subhanAllah. I have never forgotten this moment, i was so scared because im a woman and heard crazy trafficking stories of travellers, so i was so paranoid, but alhamdullilah Allah got my back and please remember this guy in your duaas in shaa Allah

I Pray Allah gives me a life in Saudi. I went to Umrah last year and I have never felt more at peace. Saudis are kind and warm. They are honest and true. Saudi is the best. Period. I can’t wait to go back IA.
Allah listens. Allah accepts Duas. Alhamdoulilah, I just returned home from Makkah for my second Umrah. Makkah is a city that looks and feels more beautiful each time you see it. I already long for more. This time I enjoyed some authentic Saudi food. And, I was so pleasantly surprised. A friend I made during my first visit invited me to join the entire family and dine at Awal & Tali. I was blown away by how delicious the food was. But more than the food, the hospitality, the earnestness, the grace, and love that family shared with me. Indeed, we are all brothers in Islam. I was always tried to keep my steps light and gentle on this Earth, my smile easy, and my heart & eyes firmly on the Quran and what it teaches. I have seen nothing but great things in Saudi. I would go back a thousand times if i could. It’s just my favorite place. I could sit and just look at the Kaabah for hours. Sometimes I even forget I am not alone. Quite a powerful feeling.

Omani people are one of the nicest and greatest people I've ever encountered❤️. I'm Indian and I met a group of Omani people in an online game during covid 19 lockdowns and man they were so nice. They treated and talked to me like one of their own. So grateful to have experienced being friends with such great people. Then that particular game got banned in my country so I've lost contact with them. This was back in 2020 but I still remember them and wish them the best in life wherever they are. I've been to Makkah and Medina but never experienced or seen such a beautiful behaviour from the locals. Well done boys, you just nailed it and you make Saudia great because of your generosity and kindness.

I went to Saudi Arab and a Saudi paid for my fare to stop an argument between me and a foreign taxi driver who tried to trick me by going around in circles and and not taking me to my destination but dropping me off at the bus station. I paid the Saudi man back even though he did not want the money . I will always remember the kindness of that Saudi man. May Allah bless him

It's actually hurtful when people say that Arabs are not welcoming to people of other races because I know first hand that it isn't true.
The people of Arabia are so kind, helpful and accommodating, they don't make you feel like a stranger.

was there too few months ago and many Saudis were somewhere between mildly unpleasant to straight up nightmares. I am a Pakistani-Canadian btw which might be the reason cuz they think people from third world countries are rats or something and of course I look Pakistani so they didn’t know Im Canadian. Either way, it was a good experience, specially doing the Umrah (indescribable feeling). The Pakistanis/Indians/Afghanis/Egyptians etc that I met while I was there were amazing people though. Just the many of the local Saudis were a pain to deal with.

I'm Pakistani and hold no other citizenship so they have less reason to be kind to me, but they are. the fact that your experience wasn't as good was probably bad luck and your eyes were only searching for what's wrong. but if you come with an open heart and an understanding mind. you'll see it. you can't expect every single person to be nice to you, but you judge by what's the norm and what's shunned upon in a community to know its values.
