I mean it's not like they gave the best gear in the game to the final boss of Iceborne. It's literally the final boas of the game. By the time you're farming this gear, you would hope that it would be useful
AT velkhana armor is much more efficient armour and with probably the second best decoration slots only after fatalis armor. Safi'jiiva armor is also one of the best for elemental builds the decoration slots are not as good but if used properly it can out damage both armors.
@@nguyenhoangngoc4761 In that case instead of health augment, I recommend having evasion windows +3(minimum), that way you'll have a safer run against aggressive monsters (looking at you Furious Rajang).
The problem with it all goes more to the skill system itself. Imo they should just totally get rid of damage increasing skills that go beyond Attack Up and rebuild the game's balance around that, while putting more focus on supplemental and QoL increasing skills.
I mean... Fatalis armour is broken but it doesn't make you invincible. You can still faint to a bunch of monsters. Endgame monsters like AT velk, Alatreon, Tempered Furjang, heck even the tempered elder dragons can all kill you if you're not playing properly
Remember guys, speedrun build isnt necessarily meta, speedrun goal is to get the fastest possible time through any means or within set of rules. Some Speedrun use affinity booster, would you do the same?
I think there could be an argument made against the armor, if you consider the fact that players new to the fight are likely to use SOS flares. If you're carried through the fight, or use palarang, you can craft the whole set without even defeating Fatalis on your own. Considering how over-the-top difficult Fatalis is, though, I think it's cool that the game rewards you for your efforts, until you finally overcome the odds. Fatalis is the hardest fight in the game, by an exponential margin, in my opinion.
I'm not a seasoned Monster Hunter player. I didn't play the early games where you couldn't even move while chugging a potion or had to throw a paintball at the monster to always keep track of it. I only started playing World early in 2024 and it easily became one of my favorites. As far as I'm aware, Fatalis was one of the last if not the last addition to the game, essentially "concluding" it. There is no new fight coming, no new monster and no new weapons or armor sets to unlock. So, in my opinion, Fatalis' armor being so "broken" is completely justified and makes sense. I believe a lot of the people who find issues with it are elitists who pretty much would rather gatekeep the game or not let anyone enjoy it which I don't think is a healthy way to go about a video game. As you mentioned, the Fatalis fight was released in October 2020 and currently we're in August 2024. All event quests are unlocked by default and different events rotate every other week or so in the game. There is nothing left to do for the game and that's perfectly fine. And if we want to look at this lore-wise, Fatalis is probably the most feared and powerful wyvern in the world of Monster Hunter. This on top of the fight being the final addition to Iceborne further cements the idea that you're supposed to be the strongest hunter after you've conquered the fight. Gatekeepers need to relax a bit and remember it's a game and games come to an end. There isn't much to do after unlocking your Fatalis armor set or weapons other than minmaxing your decos or attempting speedruns, which to my knowledge, most of them don't even utilize Fatalis' armor and you'd want to maximize your damage with something like ATV's frostcraft. As another comment mentioned, that build offers better offense. If I'm gonna have the privilege to make deco farming more comfortable then I'm all for it. Great video nonetheless, thank you.
@@olsenfernandes3634 I CAN NAME AT LEAST 3 GAMES WHERE FATALIS ARMOR WASN'T THE CLEAR CUT BEST armor in the game. Freedom unite, 4U, and Genrations ultimate. I don't know if you are another world baby talking on things you don' know, but Fatalis armor was never this over centralizing. Personally I like it for Iceborne because it does feel like the proper endgame reward worthy of the lore heavy monster.
I'm going to say something which many people probably won't agree with Capcom just didn't knew what to do with all gear from the endgame. Kulve rng weapons are cool in concept and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, since we can meld them from Kulve parts. However I would like to see a system where we upgrade old max level weapons with Kulve to get them. Kinda like a definitive last tier. Safi weapons. I don't know, really. Set and it's effect are cool. Having a possibility of two different secret skills is absolutely awesome and opened a gate to a lot of different builds such as latent power switch axe. And then there's Alatreon. My sweet Boi was butchered and abandoned like crap. His weapons are not the worst in the world, but giving us a way to change the element on them (since, you know. The elemental monster? HELLO?!) or giving them something similar to "universal" element, where it changes on the fly depending on the weakness of the monster. However base values of this element would be somewhere in the middle as a general purpose elemental weapons. His set is also just kinda there. It just doesn't fit his theme in any way at all. He should have secret skill which Namielle have, or something completely different. Conversion from the defense just don't make sense. And then there's Fatty, which is... Ok. I'm not a fan of having weapons which invalidate everything else. That's why I like weapons like Frostfang's charge blade. For those who don't know - this CB possess both impact phails and high ice element. Fatalis gear just looked at it all and said "Yeah, to hell with it". And if you don't belive me when I say: Capcom lost it's way in making gear. Look at the elemental values of weapons. Tobi Kadachi, a monster which collect static electricity give us more lightning damage than Zinogre. A monster which created its own unique way of using electricity through thunderbugs. Ffs... BEOTODYS GIVES MORE ICE ELEMENT THAN VELKHANA! HOW THAT EVEN WORKS? THIS MF CAN'T USE ICE, HE BURRIES IN F* SNOW! WHO THE HELL LOOKED AT IT AND SAID "Yeah, it makes sense"???
If safi weapons could get the rest of the monster setbonuses except alatreon's and fatalis's i feel like they'd be useful but.. no THEY STILL ARE YOU CAN SHOVE GUTS AND OTHER SET BONUSES INTO FATALIS ARMOR WITH BAZEL AMBITION AND A SINGLE BAZEL PIECE. lunastra weapons still have their niches, free hasten recovery, bowgun's razor sharp stacks with true razor sharp and guts doubles your faints.
Fatty armour made me pick up all the other weapon types because of its flexibility and removal of the need for health boost. This armour set alone is responsible for 50% of the total hours I clocked on MHW because of all the brewing and testing it opened up for me. Also, having a full set of Fatalis armour is the result of so many Fatalis attempts that if you ever tried to make it, you would never dream of complaining about anyone having it.
I dont know man still feels like horseshit when I fight AT velkhana with Fatty related builds, I've solo'd fatalis with 3 weapons and solo'd AT velkhana with chargeblade once at 3AM when I was expecting a practice run until I saw 10 minutes remmaining and velkhana has a skull AND I SKIPPED ONE OF THE ESCAPE PHASES
In my opinion, the fatalis armor is not overpowered, it's more like the other options are underpowered, like velkana Y giving lvl6 ice attack instead lf something usefull, safi not having enough deco slot and it's weapons not coming in purple sharpness, alatreon conversion not giving enough elements, Azur rathalos same as safi, not enough decos, half of the talents are useless and the 2 piece secret is useless like tool specialist or something like this would have been nice, Raging brachidios is very good but just a worst version of fatalis in every aspect (but I understand it's not end end game). And in general, elemental damage is really to low (on the majority of weapon) to consider over raw. With better elemental damage and better armor to go with, we would have seen way more variety in builds with fatalis still being a very nice set for all around raw comfort builds. And I'm not talking about the fact that some weapon (cb for example) get a lot of value from having a lot of slot as you need a lot, focus, power prolonger, capacity boost, quick sheath, evade extender... Fatalis armor lacks competition.
I personally think it was sort of the perfect end armor set to the grind. It enabled so many fun build. While not having to sacrifice damage. I have like epiquipment set paged simply of fatalis variations. With different weapons. Different aims. Specialised agains varias monsters. It shifts the main grind over to the layered armor and how you wanna look in my opinion. So to summ it up, i think it was great to introduce it at the end. But something this strong should be not introduced before the hardest few fights of the game. I think most of us can agree getting our ass kicked against fatalis with the first few tries. But all of this made it so worth it in the end. Truely my favorite fight!!!
Im just going to add this but NO ONE IS finishing fatalis in 5 mins even now today ive witnessed level 999 guys get smacked like toys even if you have max resist to fire it still 1 shots 😂 cant have a fight without someone getting knocked its a FACT
Funny how its mentioned that people who wear the Fatalis armor go missing and that's simply because he's the final boss of the game so after completing his set players just leave the game.
It makes sense for two reasons: 1.) Fatalis isn't barring anyone from the endgame. Fatalis _is_ the endgame. There's nothing left after it because it _is_ the ultimate challenge, and having OP armor and weapons is justified after such an insane challenge. 2.) It is the literal strongest monster in the franchise (barring Crimson and Old). Of course it would have broken-as-hell armor because it is the power ceiling of the franchise, an eldritch abomination that can scorch whole countries to the ground and sent all Elder Dragons running for the hills.
Well no...that's the problem, fatalis is NOT the end of world or iceborne but except for AT velkhana its gear (most notably weapons is waaaay better than any of those monsters' gear. It makes any content after him completely trivial to beat AND useless to farm because you get his stuff so early. It also causes ppl to think they've beaten the game like you did but they rly have not... He comes long before the arc tempered monsters, just mr24. For comparison AT Velkhana armor is straight up better than fatalis for most builds and as such it comes much later, but it's also way less forgiving : you can't just tank any monster's hits and ignore every blight. His armor trivializes content that would be top tier if he wasn't literally broken for the sake of it and placed in early master rank. That's a big issue if you give no reason for players to play the rest of the game. Edit : at velk is magnitudes harder than faralis too, he's only the strongest in lore not gameplay
I don't think the armor set being OP is a problem. Back when it was first released it was stated to be the final monster the hunters had to face so you could see it as the devs giving you a farewell gift before they went on to other projects. Besides, it kinda fits with the lore with Fatalis being one of the infamous black dragons.
Yeah its op, the armor skill system is actually what makes the game easier due to massive qol skills. Look at what mhrise done, the amount of High rank skills you can equip in that game is not less than what we got in iceborne with fatty armor. But in other hand, fatalis is an absolute menace when it came out, i spent 3 days, more than 12 hours a day just trying to kill him and only able to kill him with randoms. And fatalis is the end game anyway, so its not that big of a deal, the only other end game is literally only tempered furious and AT elders. However, Power creep is a serious issue since GU and it getting worse in sunbreak, i hope they rework it in wild,
Considering fatalis is one of the most powerful monsters in the franchise, I think it’s perfectly justified for it to be insanely powerful. When you beat fatalis you beat the game basically
I don't think Fatalis armor set is really that broken or OP... there isn't much skill selection after fitting in the standard dmg combo (crit eye/crit boost/wex/agitator) which prior sets are already able to. Fitting in that extra atk up doesn't boost noticable dmg. Safi and Velk sets are the ones that actually boost power for certain weapons. Fatalis set is just a comfy set for maxing out defensive and utility skills which prior sets struggle to due to lack of deco slots. It is probably OP if players get hit all the time as it makes them feel like a tank.
I fail to see how disruptive to the end game this armour was unless you either speed run exploited a kill or simply just cheated to get the early as soon as you reached the MR requirement. Just to do the rest of then content with it. People complaining that it allows you to brute force hunts with it? I’d dare argue Health Augment on most weapons effected the balance more than the last intended reward for most players.
iirc augments/honing was in mh4 before this and nergi has his lifesteal set bonus.. but 4u didnt have rocks.. oh wait it was a skill there nvm.. lifesteal+rocksteady is just raw damage.
If fatalis is hard the armor needs to Compensate. If u don't like it, just don't use the armor simple. Fatalis will be forever like this since is the strongest monster until now (without couting Crimson and Old/White Fatalis of course) Make the lore real so the armor kills u. 💀 This is my opinion at least.
Final boss with op armor is absolutely perfect No urgent or special quest after that Fatalis at MHFU have nice armor too for endgame Nothing wrong with this
Hilariously I have built into this set then compared it to my Alatreon + Velkhana gamma set up and honestly I’ve shelved all things Fatalis, do I have them? Sure, but I never use them because for element I just don’t have a want or need for Fatalis gear, my Palico has the Fatalis weapon though.
Ya I don't see Fatalis's armor being OP as a "problem", it SHOULD BE that OP. There is literally nothing else to fight after Fatalis. Because Fatalis IS the actual true end of the game. He's the last monster, of course his armor and weapons are gonna be extremely strong it would be stupid if they weren't. What is there for you as a player to even do after beating Fatalis and getting his gear? BESIDES either mindless grinding for sets you'll never need anyway because you essentially "beat the game". Or just outright starting a brand new save file? The answer is nothing, so why shouldn't he have the best armor in the game? I mean he is canonically the strongest monster. His armor and weapons should reflect that fact.
If you don’t like the armor because it’s so powerful then just don’t use it … why does everyone have to cater to you’re needs if you don’t like it What’s the bet people Who say this armor is to op used the defenders armor at low and high rank Fatalis is literally THE end game monster you fight there is a reason why it’s so hard and if you had a hard af fight and got crap from it then that wouldn’t be a fair hunt reward No one if forcing you to use the armor All the armor does is add more build options Also the game isn’t really all about strategy You go in You hunt You get resources if you beat it It’s that’s simple and if you fail then just do it again or get better equipment Its basically like souls games you don’t need a strategy just git gud
gen 5 post game loop is pretty much pinata simulator. no cheesing strat. just mash buttons with a team 99% of the time. Solo wise yeah the monsters actually do their thing. but multiplayer replayability definitely became garbage in gen 5.
I mean you forget the part where Fatalis wasnt meant to be in the game, like at all. Capcom started development for Monster Hunter Wilds sonce the end of Monster Hunter World. The secondary team made Iceborne. The Tertiary team made mh Rise. They only made a new render of Fatalis just for anniversary reasons, but fans started clamoring on forums saying "Fatalis is coming since its the first new render in a decade" which basically forced the hands of Capcom to make the Fatalis fight. Fatalis dropped and so did its armor set. The armor isnt meant to be balanced. It is a direct statement from Monster Hunter World's teams saying "go and have fun, we are done here," since the team already gave out every bit of free content available past its life cycle. Beating Fatalis just means you get to play on EZ mode in MHWI. You were supposed to be tired of the game and move onto Monster Hunter Rise. Fatalis and its fight is so divorced from Monster Hunter World that anything created higher than it would and should be sent to the team that was already making the sequel for mh World. Basically, why would you want your A Team to work on your old game when you already have 3 new projects on the horizon? Fatalis wasnt power creep. It was meant to be a goodbye... But as a true testament to how game changing Monster Hunter World was, people returned just prior Monster Hunter Wilds. There are thousands playing right now, and most dont even bother with Fatalis sets. MHWI's Fatalis is the most realistic monster that Capcom has ever made. Fatalis was LITTERALLY a real world myth, that through those rumors manifested a body for itself and bled into the real world. So shall its armor be truly game breaking
somehow it still doesn't piss me off as much as the Drachen armor set. Back then it was just every.single.hub. FULL of that fugly thing which granted also does happen now with fatalis, but at least fatalis is *the* las thing you'll ever get to do in MHWIB. I don't feel like i'm wrong for thinking that clearing the absolute pinacle of difficulty in a game isn't worthy of the most OP equipment in said game. Hunting anything else after fatalis is almost a joke, so why not play God while you're at it?
I disagree entirely on the AT Velkhana bit. I think they completely ruined the fight by making every fucking attack become some gigantic nuke. Went from one of the cleanest and fun fights in the game to one that I gave a few goes and just decided to skip entirely because I hated what they did to her so much. Good armor or not, I don't consider that fight worth it... and apparently neither do you despite what you said since you seem to be using a mod to prevent yourself from dying to her dumb ass clouds.
Fatalis armour in World is really boring as the rest of the series doesn't have the problem of 1 set being better than the rest for almost every situation (Velkhana Gamma is the only exception to my knowledge in World). The only game that comes this close to 1 set dominating the whole game is the original Monster Hunter on PS2.
I’m not in the camp of balance, games are becoming unfun and losing player bases left and right for the sake of balance. It seems so counter intuitive it’s a game designed for fun let there be fun if someone wants to pile drive through the game let them, if another doesn’t want to and wants challenge let them. There’s Too much babying now the goal is to push limits not set them
I say iceborne endgame sucked in the sense that every title update the weapons and gear would just be better then everything else so you just wear that and your done. Safi jiiva, raging brachy and so on.
Wtf you talking about? First off, Fatalis is the final monster in the game (who cares about Arch-Tempered Velkhana?), the big boss, so there are no major achievements left after that. Second, lore-wise, he’s (along with the other two Fatalis) the pinnacle of monsters, THE Black Dragon, in a class of his own. (You might argue that Alatreon isn’t that overpowered in this game, but he still has a great armor set and a tough fight.) So, how could it be controversial or considered broken? You can’t even get it until you’ve faced that monster, and by the time you get to that point, you’ve already got all the other good stuff in the game. Which X threads did you read to come up with this idea?
Not broken... final piece of armor..you did it..its over...you can replay with said set...the equivalent of using cheats that wouldve been earned if it was from another time....but ....ummm...cant really be broken...if it's the friggin end....i can see maybe people showing up to hr10 or something with it.... the hr 10 definitely gonna think something wrong with what he's doing.
Well fatalis was supposet to be one of the last mobs to be added, killing it would mean that you basically won against the strongest thing the game can offer, his gear being strong its irrelevant since you "completed" the game, once reached that point you just want good gear to fast grind archievements, and if not then you ended the game and you will stop playing. So the last mobs having a god set or not is irrelevant since you wont play the game using it, and you only get it after completing the game. You already used the best the game offered you to kill fatalis, why is a problem for it to give you something better since you grinded and farmed everything else already.
Fatalis Armor is absolutely horrible you can say “oh but the game is over after you beat him anyway” So you think if you beat this somewhat hard boss the entire well crafted endgame is now just worthless? Wow great game design Set crafting is one of the most important and fun parts of Mh and Fatalis gear single handed took that and threw it into disarray It puts even frontier armor sets to shame cus at least you mix and match frontier’s broken armor set and the sets themselfs we’re not enough to break the games balance
Final boss with op armor is absolutely perfect No urgent or special quest after that Fatalis at MHFU have nice armor too for endgame Nothing wrong with this

@@killingmygamez_bonbon919You can use Health augment on your weapon to offset it
Then it just becomes a free heal every few hits
@@c0ldshock927and that will make it worse since you cant really use resentment which is the one that made it better in dps than fatalis
Oh, I abuse it maliciously. Stacked set, and my Lance. I am nigh unkillable, and the power is intoxicating even to this day.
The Black Force 1 of Monster hunter
Fatalis Armour has always been the strongest set by far in any game so ofc it would be OP in World too.
Fatalis is a dragon. Ratha los is a wyvern
@@neurosis51no one cares, also, you are not right bro.
@@DavidUtau wrong, cope more brainlet.
Ah yes, Fatalis Plot Armor. I got it on PC. Just got to his fight on PS5.
I'm going to say something which many people probably won't agree with
Capcom just didn't knew what to do with all gear from the endgame.
Awww, I heard kitty in background!
Imagine if they brought back all element attack up for Velkhana Y..
Im just going to add this but NO ONE IS finishing fatalis in 5 mins even now today ive witnessed level 999 guys get smacked like toys even if you have max resist to fire it still 1 shots 😂 cant have a fight without someone getting knocked its a FACT
the alpha barbs mathematically are objectively better and is like running hybrid wex/critical eye jewels of anything.
Funny how its mentioned that people who wear the Fatalis armor go missing and that's simply because he's the final boss of the game so after completing his set players just leave the game.
It makes sense for two reasons:
1.) Fatalis isn't barring anyone from the endgame.
@@zobek5796 people kill fatalis before blazing black alatreon more often than not lmao
Imagine if ppl were able to think: oh, I won't baby cry about it, I'll just not use it! 🧠🧠🧠
The final bosses armor is op?? HOW DARE THEY SHOULD MAKE IT AS WORTHLESS AS A GREY HR ARMOR SET
What effect is that where you glow after each strike and your weapon has a tracer behind it? Is it a mod? Or something in the game itself?
Damn straight
Its THE endgame armor set
Nice vid! Love my fatalis set lol
100% such a good armor set!
I love Fatalis but I hope that his Set isn’t coming to Wilds
I don't think Fatalis armor set is really that broken or OP... there isn't much skill selection after fitting in the standard dmg combo (crit eye/crit boost/wex/agitator) which prior sets are already able to. Fitting in that extra atk up doesn't boost noticable dmg.
Safi and Velk sets are the ones that actually boost power for certain weapons. Fatalis set is just a comfy set for maxing out defensive and utility skills which prior sets struggle to due to lack of deco slots. It is probably OP if players get hit all the time as it makes them feel like a tank.
Sadly I was just not able to get to this monster.
Fatalis will be forever like this since is the strongest monster until now (without couting Crimson and Old/White Fatalis of course)
Make the lore real so the armor kills u. 💀
This is my opinion at least.
Arch tempered Velkhana armor is better for all out dps because of frostcraft.
Final boss with op armor is absolutely perfect
No urgent or special quest after that
Fatalis at MHFU have nice armor too for endgame
Nothing wrong with this
Look if it has to be any monster it HAS to be Fatalis. Lets not forget Fatalis is the endgame.
His armor and weapons should reflect that fact.
people complaining that THE last armor set is broken is just a baby crying
If you don’t like the armor because it’s so powerful then just don’t use it … why does everyone have to cater to you’re needs if you don’t like it
What’s the bet people
Who say this armor is to op used the defenders armor at low and high rank
Fatalis is literally THE end game monster you fight there is a reason why it’s so hard and if you had a hard af fight and got crap from it then that wouldn’t be a fair hunt reward
No one if forcing you to use the armor
All the armor does is add more build options
Also the game isn’t really all about strategy
You go in
You hunt
You get resources if you beat it
It’s that’s simple and if you fail then just do it again or get better equipment
Its basically like souls games you don’t need a strategy just git gud
gen 5 post game loop is pretty much pinata simulator. no cheesing strat. just mash buttons with a team 99% of the time.
Solo wise yeah the monsters actually do their thing. but multiplayer replayability definitely became garbage in gen 5.
If Fatalis armor was mid then he wouldn't have been worth the hunt. People r so stupid...it's FATALIS
Yo, does anyone know how to get crit boost decoes cose I'm loosing my mind rn
I’m not in the camp of balance, games are becoming unfun and losing player bases left and right for the sake of balance. It seems so counter intuitive it’s a game designed for fun let there be fun if someone wants to pile drive through the game let them, if another doesn’t want to and wants challenge let them. There’s Too much babying now the goal is to push limits not set them
I say iceborne endgame sucked in the sense that every title update the weapons and gear would just be better then everything else so you just wear that and your done. Safi jiiva, raging brachy and so on.
What is your dual blades build at 4:44
Wtf you talking about?
Wow great game design
Set crafting is one of the most important and fun parts of Mh and Fatalis gear single handed took that and threw it into disarray
It puts even frontier armor sets to shame cus at least you mix and match frontier’s broken armor set and the sets themselfs we’re not enough to break the games balance
Its basically the MR version of the defender gear
Not a fan of that imma be real
The big difference being a majority of players with it actually had enough skill to fight monsters without it
i still dont see your point. Defender armor is given while Fatalis armor is earned.
Final boss with op armor is absolutely perfect
No urgent or special quest after that
Fatalis at MHFU have nice armor too for endgame
