Did you think this movie did the first one justice? Did you enjoy it?
This movie was alright, but nothing beats the original.
I thought it missed the tone from the first movie and they could've let certain plot points get more screen time rather than trying to save the day as early as possible. Otherwise it was an okay movie with some charm to it.
Loved it. Cried like a baby when that song Love Power came on along with the scene where Giselle dies. Love the Jekyll and Mr Hyde reference too with Giselle turning bad once the clock chimes and you see her eyes turning yellow.
Is it as good as the 1st one no but I still loved it.
8/10
4 stars.
~¤Hey>{^◇^}
Kind of underwhelming compared to how great the first one was. Lost the best parts of Giselle in my opinion. The songs weren't as good but on the positive side we got a great Idina song and the Villain duet was really fun. Overall it seemed like so many moving parts that it was hard to hit any target.
At least they finally gave Nancy a song this time round, having cut her song from the original film. However, Idina stated that she was honoured to have been cast based on her acting ability, not just her singing voice.
Agreed! I'm so glad they showcased Idina this time.
maybe because first one came out before frozen the movie that made her a big deal
@@BeanSparrow I suppose that depends on what you mean by "big deal". She wasn't known much in film but she was already a Broadway star having been in the original casts of both Rent and Wicked. Her voice wasn't a secret. Which is why she said she was honored to be cast not just based on her vocal ability.
@@BeanSparrow She was already a big deal before Frozen...
@@BeanSparrow she was litterly the biggest broadway star there was before frozen …..
It's amazing how easily the cast slipped back into their roles, like they had never been away. Although it's a bit bloated at two hours long, the cinematography is gorgeous, since it was shot in Ireland, and captures its beauty splendidly.
Just Morgan is a different actress
Personally I thought it was wonderfully paced as nothing felt rushed or slow to me. I wouldn't have been so emotionally invested if they hadn't taken their time
@@wheelzbabyliz89 yeah Morgan is a different actress lol 😂 originally it was Rachel covey and now it’s Gabriella baldachino
The evil queen/stepmother song was the BEST song in the whole movie! And the song before Gissele "dies" made me tear up! Amy's acting is incredible!
Yeah there were some beautiful moments in this one!!!
I really love that you both are able to appreciate so many different types of movies, not just action or "guy films", you're willing to give these types of movies a chance. All the guys I know either refuse to watch or I have to listen to them tear everything apart. You guys are a breath of fresh air!! Thank you so much! 😘
Awww thanks
A call back I liked was Giselle in her final villain outfit having the same hair style as Edward’s step mother in the original. It’s subtle but it’s a nice touch
I probably loved Giselle in this movie more than the original. I loved her as the evil step mother and I was very invested in Giselle and Morgan's fight. I actually teared up when Morgan called her Stepmother and how it hurt Giselle and they took their time building up Morgan's outburst so it didn't seem out of no where and mean.
Yeah it was very beautiful
Same! I teared up at that and wanna hug her so badly!
The amount of Disney Princess references they put in here are simply amazing
oh my gosh.
Oh. My. Freaking. Gosh.
I'm probably not the only one who realises this, but when Giselle (Morgan's stepmother) pushed Morgan down the well to send her to Andalasia, it was kind of mirroring when Queen Narissa (Giselle's soon-to-be stepmother) pushed Giselle down the well to send her to the real world.
This movie nearly made me cry because this really gave a beautiful story of assimilating families and what is a house and a home. Also, I'M VERY HAPPY THEY SHOWED NANCY AND EDWARD A BIT MORE because the last movie, their love story felt REALLY rushed. Love you guys!!
Loved the movie! I like that they were continuing what happens after "happily ever after" in the real world. I felt bad for all three of them that they seemed to be looking for something they felt was missing.
I also love how Amy changed her voice and expression between Giselle and the Wicked Stepmother. The camera panning when she was talking to Morgan before taking her to well between Giselle and the WS was well done. I also liked the special effects and songs.
The cast seemed to have a lot of fun which is great to see
Yeah! But if you looked closer, you would see that the lighting also changed between the wicked stepmother, and Giselle...when the camera came to Giselle, the colours were vibrant, and when it came to the wicked stepmother, the colours faded... I found it super cool!
Just the fact that Robert can commute by train every day while living in the suburbs, in the United States, and that the train is actually quite nice and modern, makes this film more fairytale than anything Andalasia can offer lol
Interestingly, I think not all mother/stepmother characters are evil but Giselle's did because for her being called a stepmother by Morgan meant she was bad in her eyes.
Definetly agree it's a little bloated but the cast had so much fun and the designs were beautiful that they take you along for the ride. It's a lot better than most sequel so...
Yeah that’s what I think
I think it's also about the fairytale stepmother trope because in those stories the stepmother is always evil. Even in the original the main villain is an evil stepmother.
I don't know HOW morgan can be so miserable when she can just GO TO THE REALM OF FANTASY AND MAGIC by jumping down that well. I'd have the chipmunks do my homework for me smh, get myself a hot elf boyfriend smh smh
Your head must be dizzy with how much you’re shaking it
That is something I think the writers could have done better. Morgan from the first movie would NEVER have this kind of attitude, even more after meeting Giselle.
@@haira-hcomsomderobg4773 I agree. I think it may have been kinda cool to see Morgan have more of Giselle's spirit but then maybe become more cynical because a crush she likes thinks she's strange/ or she feels left out for having her head in the clouds or something haha. I definitely think they could've focused more on the character development of Morgan than focusing on the fantasy stuff.
@@haira-hcomsomderobg4773 Morgan from the first movie was also a little girl. It's very realistic for a teenager to find every her parents do cringey. Especially when one randomly bursts into song. Not to mention being moved from your home and friends. Seeing your sister called a true daughter of andalasia. Her resentment makes complete sense.
Oh, it's a fairy guy like Thumbelina's boyfriend for me
The point at the end with wanting to have more attention on the mother/daughter relationship was what I ment with my plot comment. They could've spent a little more time in the regular suburbs really trying to fit in and building up the strain even more. Making the desperation after the fairy tale happy ending feel a bit more earned? Idk. And then once again give more space to the classic fairy tale tropes (wicked step-mother, evil queen, cinderella moment etc) before Morgan has to save them. But I yeh I still enjoyed the movie we got.
Idina Menzel now is well known star for voicing Elsa, you can see Disney finally gave her musical scene for this movie
After seeing this movie, I'd totally be down for Amy Adams just playing a straight villain role.
I had rewatched Enchanted the day before the sequel, to get a refresher. Going into Disenchanted, I felt like it was a good follow up. The music was on point, the characters are still lively, and I also like how the plot went, where the stakes are a bit higher. The first film is still unmatched, but I did enjoy the sequel.
Giselle is honestly too pure for our world I love her! 🥺
Loved both versions(saw the first movie today before I saw this one). It was an emotional roller-coaster. Songs weren't a patch on the original songs like Thats How You Know,True Loves Kiss.
I also loved the Jekyll and Hyde reference with Giselle's eyes turning yellow once the clock strikes 12 on every hour of the clock.
My favourite song in this film was Love Power(heard it 10 times today and cried listening to it).
The animation was gorgeous too. For a film set in my country I was impressed. Well done Adam Shankman you sure impressed me(loved A Walk To Remember too along with The Wedding Planner and The Pacifer).
Thumbs up.
As a south african watching this as a downloaded video during loadshedding (daily power cuts -we're up to 10hrs a day now!) The 'creepy lighting' just made this so much more relatable. Thanks guys.💗
I think all things considered this was about as good of a sequel as could be expected. It had a lot of fun parts to it, including especially the showdown and song between the two villains. I just felt some of it fell a little flat and there were too many characters... the Queens two minion ladies did nothing for me, for example. I also felt like Tyson was kind of thrown in for love interest but was not very necessary, and Patrick Dempsey's character didn't have that much to do. I did love the last song Giselle sings to the girl... that had me pretty teary-eyed. I pretty much agree with your assessment... a fun sequel but unremarkable.
Your review is so true. But the fairytale stuff is great 😊
I see what you're saying, though I think all of the characters were in some way neccessary just to clearly define the main characters' roles.
Like Morgan, the protagonist princess, needs to have a prince.
The evil queen needs some dumb minions etc.
It did seem like they weren't sure what to do with Patrick's character, it didn't really fit the trope for the father of the protagonist / the husband of the wicked stepmother to be like, a heroic prince?
Normally his role would be the amazing father that is either too busy working to provide for the family to see what's happening, or he's dead.... so I guess maybe that's why they didn't want to do that I dunno lol
This movie is so so extremely amazing! I love it so much. Just saw it a couple minutes ago. I loved the scene where Morgan is in andenasha (don’t think I spelt it right.) I kinda always wondered what she’d look like in animation so I thought that was cool. I started to cry during Morgan at Giselle’s memories tree was crying the rest of the movie after that. I literally said out loud oh no they’re going to make me cry and they did. Disney did such an amazing job with it. Love the videos! You two do an amazing job!
Same I almost teared up at the Love Power scene!
Alan Menken did music for first movie and this one and many other Disney films.
I’m very glad you enjoyed reacting to this film. I had finished watching it before see this video reaction. While I do agree that original is iconic in its own right, I actually enjoyed the sequel just as much. I do love the themes they focused on especially how true love can found in the memories of the ones you loved. The moment that Giselle professes that Morgan is her true daughter no matter what and that Morgan accepts Giselle as her true mother is tearfully beautiful. I also loved all the musical moments especially Nancy’s song “Love Power”; that is how you showcase an iconic talented voice. If you were wanting more fairytale or fairytale like movies, I highly recommend Penelope, Beastly, The School for Good and Evil and A Cinderella Story (Hilary Duff). 👩🏻🦰🪄⚡️👸🏻❤️🖤

21. Giselle ruining Morgan's original dress is a nod to Cinderella.
I think that's all I could find so far.
Ooh, I've got some more:
1. The little mermaid reference when Morgan had her fairy tale song and sat down and water splashed behind her (like Ariel in the reprise for "part of your world".)
2. Also the princess and the frog reference with the firefly in the beginning and end.
3. And an Aladdin reference in the market, someone shouted "sugar dates and pistachios!" Like when jasmine was in the market for the first time.
4. oh, and the three fairies that Bad Giselle turned into babysitters were a sleeping beauty refrence to those three fairies that raised aurora.
There's more but I can't remember all of them lol, this movie was just full of Disney references! Oh yeah, I think one of the Broadway genie's from Aladdin was in the movie too, but I could be mistaken on that. He sounded and looked familiar but I could be wrong on that one. There's probably so much more that I missed lol
@@AshleyG24601fan the two girls turned into frogs nod to Cinderella 3 twist in time at the end where the step mother and the step sister are turned into frogs .
One of my fav movies yet no one seems to see it
I’d recently seen Enchanted for the first time so this reaction couldn’t be more perfect. 😄 I think they did well for a sequel which let’s face it with Disney tend to be iffy. Bravo!
I think this movie is just as good as the original, different, but good in its own way. To address James's complaint, I think the point where it moved away from the mother/daughter plot showed how similar and not reality and fairytale were: Morgan wants to find her own place and belong on her own, but in reality she has a mom who cares whereas in this changed world she's got no one. And is ironically and true to form, much happier in the version where she should be complaining. Robert is stuck and unhappy in real life, but doing heroic things are more than just the trappings; it's actually what Edward was shown in movie 1 but he likes things neatly falling into taletypes, where Robert just needed a change (being a divorce lawyer with his brighter outlook could be draining).
I love this sequel. Definitely would rewatch/recommend. Loved the story & songs( especially Badder🖤❤) LOVE Giselle/Amy switching from her Jekyll to her Hyde was so incredible and loved how we can tell by her face & voice changing. I would've liked it more if Giselle remembering by Morgan talking about their past shared memories and how she makes her feel to be her mom and then that regained the memories. Still overall love the sequel 💗
Idina Menzel is also Elsa and is in the OG Rent. weird how she never sang in the first movie
I watched this morning and it was wonderful. It even made me cry.
Same here I cried my eyes out.
Pros first: I thought this movie was super fun and cute, and definitely hit the emotional beats more than the first one. Also Amy Adams did a FANTASTIC job showing off her acting chops in this one by switching between the wicked stepmother and her actual self. Now for the cons: I thought the songs weren't nearly as memorable as the first one (even if they were technically better songs, if that makes sense) but my biggest complaint is that in the first one they made a whole point of Giselle telling Morgan that stepmothers WEREN'T always wicked, and this one just completely ignored that...
The last point you made is a great observation, totally forgot about that
Someone mentioned that it’s cause Morgan saw giselle as the bad guy here so she’s wicked.
But at the end of the first movie the step mother was literally wicked. Whilst Nancy (not technically a step mother but Yk) wasn’t she was still from the real world so it makes sense she wasn’t. Whereas Edwards being from a fairy tail was. Different world logic I think.
@@Ems001 mother in law
@@tinaloye2014 what??
I like both movies. dance , cast, music, story and what true love works in the family.
Anyone else who questions what happened to Giselle's Andalasia Boutique from the last film's ending?
My one complaint is Giselle wished to be Queen, but then everyone was still acting like Malvina is still Queen?
Highly recommend the following animated movies:
Wizards (1977)
The Hobbit (1977)
Heavy Metal (1981)
The Last Unicorn (1982)
The Flight Of Dragons (1982)
All five are available on TH-cam Movies channel to rent or buy, so no excuses about finding them.
I suggest turning on subtitles, since you might have mute all the music.
Does Disenchanted deserve a third film? If there is a third film in the works... I hope they keep the magic wink and get the right story on point!
I love this movie. I think it was a fitting sequel; to a movie, that really didn't need one.
Loved this reaction guys! I Just watched Disenchanted last night with my brother and we both loved it. 💜 I loved seeing Giselle as a villain.
P.s I found your guys' channel because of you reaction to Spirit and I ended up crying while rewatching it! I cried watching this too.😭
Aww thanks ;) Welcome!
I think it was a decent sequel and even though they hade more "magic" in this movie I still think the original has a more magical feel, I love the 2d they did in this although it's not as good as the older animation it's still good I'd kill for another animated movie from Disney. The songs weren't as memorable in this one but I love the song about the memories and the melody they used throughout this movie.
The one problem I had is the lack of mention of jazelle's dress business or the evil queen's henchman from the last movie. Besides that it was a good movie but the original will always be more magical.
Enchanted is rlly boring imo.. this movie is way more better
I am so happy that they made this movie and the style is very incredible. And it's very amazing to see all of these characters again after all of these years.
I haven’t even seen the trailer yet but I’m all in for your review. Glad the moment I hopped into this video, you guys were already on review part 😂 I’ll come back here later when I’m done watching the movies.
Your guys videos make my day!! I loved the first Enchanted and am so excited for this one!! Have a great day!
Although I am tired of the pissy teenager storyline, I really did understand Morgan so it was not as much of a huff as it usually is. And 👏 the songs, that everyone not only came back but showed up for it, I love that. Sometimes you see them come back, but they give off this "let it be quick" vibe, but they all were having a ball. That villainess song was dope. I loved it.
And I agree with NT.Brush, I like that there was no huge enemy to defeat, I felt that barriers was the best villain in this movie it was subtle and cool in a direction to go. And Amy better win some awards, most actresses can't do what she did in this film with the multiple personalities.
And Maya Rudolf, kinda loving it that she was giving me Angelica Houston from The Witches. Don't know if that was intentional or not but I was in. This movie didn't need to be made, but I'm glad that they did. They actually had a script and not just a set and idea. That speaks to me that's what makes sequels acceptable to me. Things like Mortal Kombat where they jump the gun because the original did do well.. not a fan
Dang you guys are fast with these reactions 😂 I’ll have to come back later though after I’ve watched it myself!
Honestly Morgan really pissed me off when she called Giselle “my mother?! and just “Step Mother, that’s all she will ever be”.
It’s been 10 years, since they became a family. She was like 7, and for those 10 years Gisselle has been there for her.
I take this personally because I have a stepdad. My mom met him when I was 4 and steadily dated for a year and got married a few years later. I also have a younger sister who is 8 years younger than me. And I absolutely adored her. And I also had to change my entire life during my first year of high school. We moved from Mexico to USA, and I barely spoke a word of English. 😅
So despite all that never in my entire life (I’m on my late 20’s) I have ever called my dad “just my stepdad” or typical “you can’t tell me what to do! you’re not my dad” even when we are argued a lot when I was a teen. (I was a cranky teenager too lol) He is a good dad and that’s all that matters to me.
Gisselle is a good mom, yeah she is not perfect but she obviously loves Morgan with all her heart. (And she save Morgan’s dad from a Dragon!) From my point of view Morgan’s life wasn’t miserable because Gisselle is different or because she moved away. Yes it’s a big change and she was embarrassed at school but it’s just a bunch of random people who cares. They will forget
about it in a week with all the social media news that changes from day to day. Morgan should have never stooped as low as calling Giselle “not her mom”. That’s just plain hurtful.
Honestly stepparents deserved better in movies. And they need to show m more compassion to half-siblings and step siblings. If they are kind to you they are family not just “step” family. End of story.
Haven't seen the movie yet gonna watch it when i come home I do hope it good

I’m glad I got a good time to watch disenchanted movie 2 days ago.
Please PLEASE watch In The Heights. It's one of the best movie musicals ever and I can already hear James saying "that's a cool shot" every 5 minutes, the cinematography, choreography, score and performances are great.
I truly think you would enjoy it and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
Another great fairy tail movie you guys should watch is Penelope! It’s such a cool twist as well as with a great moral. I can’t watch this video yet as I want to see Disenchanted with my family first but I’m sure it’s a great video as always! Love your channel!
The video went to black with no sound for a couple of minutes at the end of the movie
I like 👍 y’all’s reaction to disenchanted y’all are right it’s a good movie lol 😂 I watched it it’s good 😊👍
I just wish they would focus more on Morgan and Giselle relationship than the music and magic. It was almost too much with too little story.
Yeah I completely agree
Aw sweet I'm gonna watch Thor reacts one after this . Great reaction guys can't wait for breaking dawn part 2 💖 and more team reactions 😎🔥
Looks gorgeous
I didn't even know this movie existed. I love the original but have heard nothing about this one. I'll return to watch your reaction once I've seen the film myself.
Well it came out literally today, so it’s pretty normal you hadn’t heard about it yet😅
Well it depends on the ads. I got a few trailers for it and also I liked to checked on upcoming Disney movies. I mostly look forward to all animated movies but I was really excited for this Sequel.
This was a pretty good sequal as sequals go. I know the story was mainly focused on the mother daughter relationship in the film, but a part of me didnt like how much Patrick Dempsey was sidelined. Once the wish was granted he was not given any kind of arc of his own and i think them fighting together as a family instead of him doing a bunch of attempted and failed sidequests. I know there are time limits but i just wish he could have had a role as well in helping Gissele hold onto herself.
All I can say is: Mmmmm Patrick Dempsey ❤️
They filmed this in Ireland apparently
Yes this was filmed in enniskerry in ireland
the editing at @40:06 makes it seems like Giselle calls Morgan a b*tch XD
you guys should react to the mitchells vs the machines, I think you gonna like.
This took like a Cinderella vibe
I was honestly pretty disappointed in this one (besides the evil queens song). The writing felt weak, with Morgan not having to figure out the solution, rather than be told it. Her issues were also kind of just pushed to the side, even though they were valid. I wish we would have seen more Giselle and Morgan understanding one another , or even Robert and Edward. The subplot of the Prince (who's name I honestly don't remember) and Morgan was very flat and I felt like Idina was given a song because she's Idina, but it really don't add anything to the story
I really wanted to like this one, the set up and idea were good, but it just didn't live up to the original, or come close, in my opinion.
How the hell did you get the rights to react to " Disenchanted" ? It's brand new on Disney+ . Isn't that illegal for brand new film?
Not if it’s edited. All under fair use my man
If you are going to watch rap battle in youtube you should watch Princess Rap Battle by Whitney Avalon
So Nailtailbrush's real name is Nobu?
It's so great)))
Please do the school for good and evil
Although it's not as good as the 2007 one but I still liked it.

Oh come on dude lol. I am open to different things, and this movie was really not that bad. I enjoyed it.
It was both what I wanted and extremely underwhelming. The beginning was very rushed and forced. While I completely empathized with Morgan (like I did Riley in Inside Out), she was overly harsh, even for a moody teenager. Like they were overcompensating to contrast the fairytale her. I wasn't digging any of the music (except for maybe the memory tree song) which is a shame. Plotwise, as you sort of made note of, they set up a lot of pieces and didn't utilize them all. I really liked the idea of Giselle fighting between her bubbly self and wicked stepmother, but like the opening it was rushed. I was very curious as to how they'd play wicked stepmother with a husband and baby as in most stories she's a widow and has grown kids (if any). However, Robert was off fighting monsters (which should've been funnier than it was) and the baby served no purpose whatsoever. They really didn't need to include that. Neither did the Morgan love interest (blanking on his name, that's how forgettable he was). Even Malvina didn't need to be in this. The only purpose she served was to steal the wand and give stepmother Giselle some sort of obstacle. This movie could've worked fine with just Giselle as the villain. She could've lost the wand some other way. I never cared about her and Robert's relationship, not even in the first film. Definitely didn't care about Nancy and Edward's but those are personal nitpicks.
TLDR; Loved the idea, was a bit let down by the execution. Glad I saw it, but not itching to see again. Definitely prefer the first film by a mile.
Is this movie good
This is a great movie but I suggest that you don’t watch it 2 back to back and then watch the first one
Might just be me, but I actually hated the animated sections. It feels like they forgot how to do classic Disney 2D animation. They couldn’t even match the look of the first movie. Animated Nancy looks completely different then she did at the end of Enchanted. It honestly feels like a less successful studio trying to mimic the Disney look, rather than it actually being Disney. Idk if they tried to use cg animation to look 2D instead of actually animating it the old way, but it just feels off.
Ok. Sorry to say didn’t like this one at all apart from the animated bit with Morgan.
Animation: AMAZING
Story: Shit
*Don't you guys ever react to an LGBTQ movie?*
They are watching twilight saga. 🤷🏾♂️😜
The Haunting of Bly Manor was done months ago. They haven’t reacted to specific lgbt movies but that’s up to the Patreons. Maybe in the future they can react to Heartstopper, Love Simon, Pride, and Our Flag menas Death.
I did NOT like this omg
